+strahi Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 I noticed a strange thing, all sf2 mig-17 tank pylon missing, why is this happening? Quote
Wrench Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 i don't know if you'd call it missing, but it seem greatly reduced in size!! Quote
+strahi Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) Detail of what I'm talking about you can see here, (http://rapidshare.co...rqia46.rar.html ) page 28,48. Edited February 21, 2012 by strahi Quote
+Spillone104 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I've done the specific tank with the pylon for my mod of the MiG-17PF/PFU for SFP1 http://combatace.com/files/file/11009-mig-17pfpfu-pack/ Quote
Svetlin Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 i don't know if you'd call it missing, but it seem greatly reduced in size!! Well that's just the fuel tube and side supports, but the pylon is missing. Quote
Svetlin Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) Well, I am a bit of a maniac about aircrafts loaded with drop tanks So I spent some time looking into the issue and here are 2 solutions: Solution 1 - go get the new drop tank by Spillone104 Solution 2: - do not Spillone104's tank, but keep the stock one; - extract the MiG-17_DATA.ini, open it; - go to the weapons stations entries and edit as follows: [LeftTankStation] ........ ModelNodeName=LeftWing_OuterPylon <-- it exists in the model, but is missed (intentionally or not) in the data.ini [RightTankStation] ........ ModelNodeName=RightWing_OuterPylon <-- it exists in the model, but is missed (intentionally or not) in the data.ini Now, when you select the stock drop tanks, these will appear loaded on a pylon, not just hanging on a fuel pipe and side supports. P.S. Spillone104, sorry I noticed this just now... Had it been earlier I would not have bothered you biuld another drop tank. I am sorry! Edited February 21, 2012 by Svetlin Quote
Wrench Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 might want to let TK know about that over at the 3rd Wire site .. so he can fix it BEFORE SF2NA comes out nice catch!! (and thanks for the walkaround book ... didn't have that one in my collection!) Quote
Svetlin Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 The outer pylons are there only on the MiG-17 and deffinitely missing on the MiG-17F and MiG-17PF. So, for MiG-17 one can either choose to edit the ini and still use the stock pylons or go for Spillone104's tank. For the later models - 17F and 17PF, only Spillone104's tank with built-in pylon does the job. Quote
