I've exported Fractalnoise's beautiful F-14 SF1 avionics update for the MF F-14 into SF2E on the same MF F-14A.

All the HUD avionics work in SF1.

Still get that beautiful cockpit panel but a good deal of the HUD avionics don't work in SF2E.

Moved and changed all sorts of folder, ini entries, tried different avionics packages, etc.. Still can't get them to all work.

Checked the SF2 KB. Couldn't find anything covering SF1-to-SF2 avionics.

Any help or pointing to help is appreciated.

Which bits don't work for you? If you could take some screen-shots it would help too. I redid the KF-2 Hammer HUD/Avionics from SF1 to SF2 so I may be able to help.

Hi Ian,

I don't know all the bits that don't work, but much of the HUD symbology doesn't show when I switch between radar modes.

If the picture attaches correctly, you will be able to see what's supposed to show.

Cheers,

Geary

If it's just the HUD thats wrong then try adding this [HUDMaterial] entry (make a backup 1st incase this breaks something) to the F-14A_Avionics.ini between [HUD] and [HUDFont] but without seeing what doesn't work it's just guess work.

[HUD]

HUDColor=0.0,1.0,0.3,0.8

BoresightOffset=0.0,0.0

ViewportTopLeft=-0.150,-0.180

ViewportBottomRight=0.150,0.210

GunBoresightAngle=2.0

[HUDMaterial]

EffectShaderName=fltHUD.fx

DepthBufferCheck=FALSE

DepthBufferWrite=FALSE

RenderedInOrder=FALSE

AlphaTestEnabled=TRUE

CullMode=NO_CULL

LightEnabled=FALSE

UseLightLevel=FALSE

SpecularEnabled=FALSE

EmissiveEnabled=FALSE

FogEnabled=FALSE

AmbientColor=1.000000,1.000000,1.000000,1.000000

DiffuseColor=1.000000,1.000000,1.000000,1.000000

ZBufferOffset=0

PriorityLevel=1

BlendOp=BLEND_SRC_ALPHA

NumTextureStages=1

TextureStage[01].TextureName=

TextureStage[01].MipMap=FALSE

TextureStage[01].FilterEnabled=TRUE

TextureStage[01].StageColorOp=TEXTURE_MODULATE_DIFFUSE

TextureStage[01].StageAlphaOp=TEXTURE_MODULATE_DIFFUSE

[HUDFont]

ianh755,

Thanks, but that seems to have made no discernable difference.

More to ponder.

Dave,

I am using the SF2 TMF Tomcats, but the cockpit struts are super thick, dark and heavy. Makes feel like I need to pull my head into my neck. Fractalnoise's is thinner and easier to see.

A straight port over I think would be impossible because of the avionics differences between SF1 and SF2. It's more than just ini settings but you will have to go line by line anyway. Why dont you just change the FOV in the SF2 pit that's how I got by that canopy issue.

What's the best way of changing the FOV?

In the main directory of any plane you will find X-XX_Cockpit.ini open it up and look for this section

[CockpitSeat001]

ModelName=Cock_F14a

Position=0.0,5.5,0.658

ViewAngles=0.0,-2.0,0.0

MaxYaw=152 <-------------------- change these to about 180

MinYaw=-152 <--------------------

MaxPitch=90

MinPitchFront=-47 <------------- You can play with these too

MinPitchRear=-35 <------------

LightRange=1.5

LightInnerConeAngle=50

LightOuterConeAngle=60

LightAngles=0.0,-30.0,0.0

DiffuseLightFactor=0.5

NightLightOn=0.25

NightLightColor=0.6,0.3,0.4

Gunsight=GunsightFront

Or Adjust the middle number of the seat Position=0.0,5.5,0.658 to about 2.8 and see if you like that.
