Add on planes not showing up

Recommended Posts

HELP!!! New guy here. The add on plane I'm referring to is from the downloads section:

http://combatace.com/files/file/8730-81st-squadrigallia-itlay-hanriot/

I installed it, but it doesn't show up in the aircraft selection menus in the game.

I've got OFF installed over CFS3 and all patched up (1.32G). So what am I doing

wrong? I have experience with CFS2 in the past where you have to alias some files

(panel and/or sound file), but that's not working here.

Thank you guys <S>

Alexander, my memory is rather - scrambled eggs style. But I believe to remember,

that the additional, user-made aircraft models can only be used within user-built missions.

Is that correct - anyone?

There are missions like "Olham's Gotha Escort" (by RAF_Louvert), which I had downloaded

the Gothas for. And then they worked - but only in that mission.

And don't ask me, where I had to place them, Alexander - it's too long ago.

You might be able to use them in CFS Quick Combat (in workshops), but they shouldn't show up in a campaign or even the OFF Quick Combat.

What he means, Alexander, is the "old" "Quick Combat", which has to be started from within "Workshops"; bottom line, CFS QC.

Alexander, that is what I recall as well. Custom aircraft can appear in "Quick Combat" sessions and are included in custom designed "Quick Scenarios" sessions in OFF Manager. I recall several outstanding missions, having flown them all: "Olham's Gotha Escort", "Zeppelins Over Paris" , "Gothas Along the Thames" all by RAF_Louvert, "Rearm and Refuel" by PilotsDen, and many many others come to mind. Each custom mission was designed in CFS3 Mission Builder. Gotha and LZ30 Zeppelin are both add-on aircraft and are not stock in OFF P3. I remember StumpJumper built many a custom aircraft that were used in Missions on his "Doves and Hawks" MP server.

You add the aircraft files from the mod into the C:\OBDSoftware\CFSWW1 Over Flander Fields\aircraft\ folder. It then should appear in the available aircraft list in the Quick Missions screen.

Did exactly that proceedure and the Hanriot HD-1 doesn't appear. Sorry to

be a pain-in-the-a**. Do you have to reduce the number of planes to a certain

amount in the aircraft folder? Do you have to alias the sound file correctly?

Again thank you for taking the time to reply mate :salute:

I may be wrong about Quick Combat. So then IIRC the only way to fly them is in a Custom Mission built in CFS3 Mission Builder. And that takes special design knowledge from someone with experience in such things.

Welcome Alexander48. User made/3rd party aircraft will not show up in the OFF Manager. It only shows official aircraft as we also have to do a lot of background work - customise much of the world, squads, skins, missions etc to match. You can only fly 3rd party aircraft via "CFS3 QC" (Workshop setting, click go back to Quick Combat and fly an aircraft/anything, and when you are in CFS3 mode you can change the aircraft - will them appear IN SIM in the left hand menu.

This will be using the Original CFS3 Quick Combat mode.

OR copy and edit a mission in OBDSoftware\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\missions\scenarios\<country> (country is pilot nation).

Then it will show in Quick Scenarios.
