ndicki Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Seafire MkIII, No.887 NAS, Fleet Air Arm, 1945 View File Seafire MkIII, No.887 Naval Air Squadron Fleet Air Arm, HMS Indefatigable, Okinawa, April 1945 - Japanese Coast, August 1945. It is a little known fact that aircraft of the Royal Navy British Pacific Fleet fought at Okinawa and participated in the final air attacks on the Japanese mainland. All serial numbers included in this package correspond to Seafire MkIII aircraft which served with 887 NAS at some point between late 1944 and the end of the War. Where possible, known individual numbers have been allocated to the correct aircraft. These are marked with an asterisk in the loadout menu. Alternative lower resolution (1024x1024) skin files are included. For use ONLY with SF2 including the Israel Expansion Pack. This will NOT work if you do not have the stock TW Spitfires installed and working. Submitter ndicki Submitted 06/16/2012 Category Spitfire
+JonathanRL Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Heh, I knew. They are a flyable squadron in Il-2: 1946 ;-). Great addon at any rate. Hope we get to see more like this !
+Typhoid Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Super work!! Isn't it supposed to be carrier capable? I had to mod it to fly from carriers.
ndicki Posted June 18, 2012 Author Posted June 18, 2012 LoL! Yes, it is - only I haven't a clue how to do that. Feel free to add an update if you like!
+Wrench Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 nigel: check the french seafire release thread here; I've posted the necessary ini edits.
+Typhoid Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 (edited) nigel: check the french seafire release thread here; I've posted the necessary ini edits. yep, you hit a couple of points I missed. Thanks! I also combined several of the squadron files into the same plane (so I didn't have four or five versions of a Mk something). I'd be glad to post a combined set, including carrier capable Seafires if requested/authorized. Edited June 19, 2012 by Typhoid
ndicki Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 Kevin - both updated, tested and working. Typhoid - kind of you to offer, but as many of these have modified parts which are not always immediately obvious, I'm keeping them all well separate.
