I ensure I am logged in. I am using Chrome v19.0.1084.56 m I have tried both the file download at: http://combatace.com/files/download/13080-convair-model-201-shipboard-fighter/ and the download mirror at: http://combatace.com/files/download/13080-convair-model-201-shipboard-fighter/page__mirror__1 Chrome starts the download and gets to 0.5/58.3MB and shows interrupted I have tried the same download with Firefox v12.0 with similar results Firefox throws an error saying the source file could not be read I have validated my connection to your server and latency times. In the past I have kept trying, and eventually I will be able to get the files. I have seen others mention this issue and I know your response is typically to try another browser, but I have done so with no change in outcome. If you would like any more information, please ask I thoroughly enjoy your site and don't want this post to be taken as a complaint. I just wanted to let you know it is not a browser issue. Please don't say flush your cache/cookies/history or toilet. I have tried all of those (as appropriate of course) with no change. I would seriously consider going to a paid membership, but I fear the frustration would out weigh the benefit.
Orf 0 Posted June 27, 2012 As a side note, I was able to get the file this morning. Not sure what the issue may be.
MAKO69 186 Posted June 27, 2012 What are your windows fireall/antivirus' set at? Try shutting them down. Try using Windows web browser instead of chrom and firefox, those are very "protective/safe" web browsers that may not allow certain parts of a program into your machine. Best of luck. +Sundowner 4,837 Posted June 27, 2012 I have this same problem with any downloads from CA, been like this since CA came back on line [since the "big crash" a couple of months back] nothing has changed on my pc.
MigBuster 2,884 Posted June 27, 2012 Downloads fine for me as always - the latency is not the issue - mines double that shown in the output above. Are you using WiFi by any chance?

It's not a firewall issue. I got the files fine earlier today with no changes. Not sure what you mean by "Windows web browser". Are you referring to Internet Explorer? If you are I may just have to live with the issue. Are you using WiFi by any chance? Nope. Hardwired.
MigBuster 2,884 Posted June 28, 2012 This could have been caused by problems affecting your ISP in the local area - or too many people were trying to use it at the same time (depends on the ISPs setup but it can happen).
+Erik 1,812 Posted June 29, 2012 I had a quick look at this and I agree with you and your concerns. I would not pretend to offer a half baked solution for you however a fully exposed iperf route to your machine to measure throughput is unrealistic. Packet loss, latency, busy routes, bucket bandwidth at fractional costs from providers and ISPs all play a part in file transfers. While we are on a high quality backbone things don't always or aren't always perfect. I noticed some relatively highly than normal retransmit value at our router and consequently bounced it. That should help at our main box which is what you pinged above. I also noticed that our mirror server is behind in getting the updates of files and had to stick my hand on that to get the files moving to the mirror again so the mirror link works grabbing the files from files.combatace.com. I would be interested to see what a route to that machine looks like from you. Regardless I'll keep my eyes on things and see what I can find. I'll keep you posted and we'll see what comes of things. Thanks for the report --- Erik

As I mentioned, I'm not really complaining. I have the patience and realize that eventually the internet gods will let me get the file (Even if I do get mad when failed downloads count against the 24 hour download limit - lol). I have just seen a few different folks mention the issue and thought I could give some data to take a look at.
+Erik 1,812 Posted June 30, 2012 Yeah I totally get it. Thanks for the info and please let me know if things get better. Our subscription platform actually works better by design because it pushes the file from our end and subscription accounts are allocated more resources on our machines, that's why it is a fee for service structure. Matroz 0 Posted August 25, 2012 Can I ask you a question?...Where is the Su-27 family from the downloads in SF1 series?
+Erik 1,812 Posted August 25, 2012 I would recommend that you post this in the General Forum for the SF1 Series. I know they exist and you can even try a search for "MIG". Thanks.
