+RAF_Louvert Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 . You are a lucky man Simon. Northumberland is beautiful and I visited there on several occasions during my time in England. I saw many familiar places in that video that I hadn't thought about for years. Alnwick Castle, Hadrian's Wall, Coquetdale, the Lighthouse on St Mary's Island, (although I seem to remember that particular bit of beauty was ceded to Tyne and Wear in the mid 1970's, but then I may be wrong about that). I so want to go back to England and tramp around such locales once more. Enjoy your little slice of Heaven my friend. . Quote
Beanie Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 My Dad was born in South Shields, so I spent many of my Summer holidays in Newcastle and surrounding areas - it always brings back happy memories. For me its not only the beautiful landscaps - but the people that make the place special. Quote
UK_Widowmaker Posted July 20, 2012 Author Posted July 20, 2012 Thanks Guys...you will always be afforded a warm Northumbrian welcome should you choose to return! (with a few bottles of 'Sheepdog' thrown in for good measure!) Lou...your knowledge of Northumberland is very impressive!!! Quote
Slartibartfast Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Must admit I spent 5 years in Northumberland just outside of Alnwick... though not always there. Was a pleasant time even going swimming in the North Sea on the first of April until the 1st October... ridiculous looking back at it now... Quote
