Geary Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 I know this is probably a simple fix, but I've tried many adjustments and can't seem to find the right one. I've learned to move the cockpit within the plane and in some cases outside the plane. I've learned to move the pilot and or seat around in the plane. I've learned not to mess with some adjustments; I think I was facing upside-down and backwards at one point. I just want to move my point-of-view forward a bit in the cockpit. I want to be straight forward about a foot; closer to the dash/hud. I'd like to go from the first photo view to the second and set it as the default view position. Any help is greatly appreciated. Panama Red Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 IIRC, it is in the "ViewAngles" setting in the cockpit file. Quote
Geary Posted October 6, 2012 Author Posted October 6, 2012 Panama Red, I'd thought that at one time, and you may be right, but IIRC I tried that and it made me cross-eyed for a bit. I'll revisit that entry and give it another try. Thanks, Quote
Panama Red Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 I can not remember if it is the first or second set of "0.0", I do remember that the third set makes it tilt left or right. Quote
Geary Posted October 6, 2012 Author Posted October 6, 2012 The problem I've found with the middle set of numbers is that it moves the view forward some, but changes the gun sight angle. These sets of numbers seem to change other views/angles. Can't seem to move forward without changing some other view/angle. Go figure. Quote
Panama Red Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 You could also go into your "viewlist.ini" file in your Flight folder and change the "OffSetDistance" to "0.0" or "-0.xx" and that should move you forwad without changing anything else. Quote
+russouk2004 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 heres example of co-ords in a model 0.0,-2.9,0.8 0.0 is left and right (the X axis)-0.24 is left 0.24 is right -2.9 is front to back of a\c (Forwards and Back Y axis) and 0.8 is top to Bottom (up and down Z axis Quote
+Crusader Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 (edited) in the cokcpit ini, look for this line [CockpitSeat001] ModelName=He162 Pit Offset=0.0,-0.02,-0.05 ... Add the line if its not in the file. With the Offset line you can adjust the eye position from the default 0.0 position of the cockpit as build in 3ds max. Note that if you make big changes that they can cause clipping issues if the posiiton is too close too a mesh. The values are X-axis, Y-axis, Z-Axis ( Left/Right, Fore/Aft, Up/Down ) Edited October 9, 2012 by Crusader Quote
Geary Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 Crusader, Thanks, buddy, that was the fix. No more leaning forward or trying to adjust the view on-the-fly. Quote
