Removing Prop Spinner for Alb D.III

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever tried to remove the Spinner for a D.III or a D.V via the "Remove Component" trick in the aircrafts DATA.INI? I have removed the guns and all the parts successfully but I cant seem to remove the Spinner. There are three to remove I think, Prop Spinner, Slow Pro Spinner, and Fast Prop Spinner. They dont want to dissappear. Anyone want to try it out for me? I'm trying to make a "Hack" D.IIIOef.

Here is what I have in the DATA.INI

I want this with no spinner. It's as close as I can get to a Oef D.III

I tried it years ago and I could get it to remove but the prop went with it too.

maybe a request over at "the other site" like I did to get him to mod his D.III into the 253 version. that model is not the best but it might be the only way short of a complete new model.

Ok well it seems the Prop itself can be removed but not the Prop Spinner. It seems to be attached to the Prop Axle. If I remove the Prop Axle it removes the Axle, Prop, and the Prop Spinner. So apparently there is no way to just remove the Spinner. Oh well. maybe someone, cough cough, Stephen1918, cough, will make a nice D.IIIOef one day. They were used on the eastern front too.

Yea h i tried and tried but never got anywhere. too bad Jan Tuma's versions were made from ripped lods. They were looking really good.

The nice thing (before Stephen1918 makes a real D.III Oef, please, please, please) about the D.III Oef 153 series is that you see a lot of the early 153's (before the blount nose late 153's) with the spinner still attached. As a result, you could temporarly use the stock D.III (with the 200 hp engine) in your mod.

He needs to ask TK if he can distribute the plane.TK gave permision along time ago to release modded F-4 lods I believe but I think that was a one time thing.it was so long ago and i wasn't in the loop so I may have the facts wrong.
