Derk, I and my fellow Brits like a good saying but I don't understand "monks work". Is it the same as the "curate's egg"?

Ha, didn't realize that, as there are lots of expressions that exist in both languages. "Monnikkenwerk" as we call it means a LOT of very precise and very time consuming work, for which in former ages only monks had the time and the persevearance to finish it at all within a lifetime !!!! One finds a lot of examples for instance in churches and monasteries..... :biggrin:
