Disabling the Loading Screen sound

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Could someone point me out the way to remove the Loading Screen sounds?

Here is what I have tried;

- Extracting the FLIGHTENGINE.INI to the C:\Progra...\Flight path and removing the "loading.wav" from the StreamAudio= line.

- Putting in another loading.wav in to the C:\Progra...\Flight path

- Checked many (all?) of the CAT files for the loading.wav sound.

Any suggestions? Thanks!! - Jake

The wav and inis are in menudata cat I believe...you would need to make a wav thats silent or muted and point the ini to it,and drop the wav in correct folder...either menu folder or whatever..

that would be my suggestion -- an "empty" wav dropped into the Menu or Flight folders (can't remember which exactly.)

the game ALWAYS looks in folders first for which/what ever files it needs, and uses those over what's stored in the cats.

What Wrench said! An improperly formatted WAV will work also. Tried to use a Tokyo Rose clip in my WW2 Pacific install. It was messed up now I use it as my "dummy" sound.

Thanks all!

Where should I be placing that FLIGHTENGINE.INI file?

I put it in C:\Program Files (x86)\ThirdWire\Strike Fighters 2\Flight\, but no changes are reflexed in the game.

Figured it out -- I'm supposed to create a Flight folder in my C:\Users\username\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 folder.

Thanks again all! - Jake
