How can I create a tanker pattern?

How can I put a tanker "on station" so it flys a circular pattern for a certain amount of time? Want to being able to find him on a proper position to simulate A-A refueling.

Try to use some mission editor. For SFP1 there is one very good called "Le Misioneur" and for SF2 you can download a DLC from TK's site. With the editor you can create the flights and put the waypoints as you want , so you can easily create a circular path for the tanker.

...but that's only applicable to a single mission, isn't it? For a campaign, you'd have to settle for a tanker set to fly recon or transport taskings, then catch it either to or from it's objective.
