amariani Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Does anybody knows what the mesh name is for the upper nose portion of TW's P-51? Quote
amariani Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 "Nose" only works for the sides. I'm refering to the area above the engine stacks (the antiglare area). Quote
Wilches Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 It´s "AntiGlare_Nose" for sure. Good luck! Quote
amariani Posted November 6, 2013 Author Posted November 6, 2013 Decal facing top? Tried that, didn't work. Quote
amariani Posted November 6, 2013 Author Posted November 6, 2013 It´s "AntiGlare_Nose" for sure. Good luck! Nope, didn't work either. Quote
+RAVEN Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 (edited) Try Nose_P or Nose_01, Nose_Top Edited November 6, 2013 by RAVEN Quote
Wrench Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 antiglare_nose nose looking into the (pre-lock archived) lod, those are the only 2 named nose meshes. looking for "top" gives use clip_top_L clip_top_R (no idea what THOSE are!!!) however... anti_glare_fuselage turns up worth a try, eh!! (btw, liked the 'fragile but agile' skin .. there was a write up on the REAL aircraft in the December 2013 issue of 'Flight Journal') Quote
+RAVEN Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Just speculating here, but if those two mesh’s are for the ‘Anti-Glare’ part of the skin then they may have been ‘cooked/baked,ect’ to reduce the shine and may not take a decal? Not sure on this, but I would like to find out. Quote
amariani Posted November 6, 2013 Author Posted November 6, 2013 Thing is I'm adding a decal that covers the side of the nose and part of the antiglare panel. When in game the part of the decal on the side of the nose shows up but the portion that goes on the antiglare panel doesn't. I'm pretty sure it's a mesh name thing. So far none of the suggestions above have worked. Also Wrench, could it be possible to get a copy of the unlocked .lod? Just speculating here, but if those two mesh’s are for the ‘Anti-Glare’ part of the skin then they may have been ‘cooked/baked,ect’ to reduce the shine and may not take a decal? Not sure on this, but I would like to find out. I thought about that too. Quote

Not sure on this, but I would like to find out. I modified the _5.jpg file to reduce the shine from the rudder (rudders were fabric-covered so they weathered diferently) and applied a decal there and it worked fine. So that posibility is scratched out. I'm more convinced now that it has to be mesh name issue. Will keep trying! Quote
+RAVEN Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Cool , that answers my question. Thanks. One other thing I've run into is a ' space' at the beginning of the mesh name ( nose) instead of (nose). This won't show in a . lod word search. Quote
amariani Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 This is what I'm trying to fix... Quote
+RAVEN Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) An other way to track down a mesh/ mesh name is to use the remove edit, (_Data.ini) if you get the mesh name correct it will disappear. AntiGlare_Nose 100% confirmed. Edited December 2, 2013 by RAVEN 2 Quote
+RAVEN Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 I just can't leave stuff alone. I did some testing and this is what I came up with.
