Simple BAe Hawk 'pit' proposal

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Simple Hawk 'pit' proposal... from the Thirdwire Harrier cockpit!

In order to delete the frame front elements.

I you have the SF2 Europe you need extracting the cockpit.ini file and just add these red lines:

[CockpitSeat001]
ModelName=Harrier1_pit.LOD
Offset=0.00,-0.15,-0.00
Position=0.0,2.634,0.375
ViewAngles=0.0,-2.5,0.0
...

...

...
Instrument[031]=Reflection2
Instrument[032]=FuelFlowCounter
Instrument[033]=RPM_small
Instrument[034]=Delete1

[Delete1]
Type=ACCELEROMETER
NodeName=frame_front
MovementType=Light
Set[01].Position=0.0
Set[01].Value=-20.0
Set[02].Position=0.0
Set[02].Value=20.0

Hello Coupi, how did you discover the nodename "frame_front" ?

I would like to apply your trick to create a cockpit for the F-5 from a  A-4E or F-100D Pit.

But the nodenames are unknown to me.

@ Happy308,... I'm using HxD programme in order to open the LOD files.

However, you can use Lod OUT file if the mod has it. I've found the Thirdwire LODs from 1st gen games

and the first 2nd gen games when we could extract them with the TK Tools from the DataObjects.

Otherwise an other idea if you have Wings over Europe (1st gen) after AV-8A files extracting:

[CockpitSeat001]
ModelName=AV-8A_cockpit.LOD
Offset=0.00,-0.10,-0.00
Position=0.0,2.634,0.375
ViewAngles=0.0,-2.5,0.0
MaxYaw=155
MinYaw=-155
MaxPitch=90
MinPitchFront=-45
...
...
...
Instrument[038]=Reflection2
Instrument[039]=Delete1
Instrument[040]=Delete2
Instrument[041]=Delete3

[Delete1]
Type=ACCELEROMETER
NodeName=gauge_nozzle
MovementType=Light
Set[01].Position=0.0
Set[01].Value=-20.0
Set[02].Position=0.0
Set[02].Value=20.0

[Delete2]
Type=ACCELEROMETER
NodeName=frame_front
MovementType=Light
Set[01].Position=0.0
Set[01].Value=-20.0
Set[02].Position=0.0
Set[02].Value=20.0

[Delete3]
Type=ACCELEROMETER
NodeName=indexer_lights
MovementType=Light
Set[01].Position=0.0
Set[01].Value=-20.0
Set[02].Position=0.0
Set[02].Value=20.0

Happy, if you do that to the Skyhawk cockpit, you'll leave a "hole" where the windscreen frame was. That part is 'cut', with the glass placed around it.

Found that out ages ago, in 1stGens, so that trick won't work that specific pit

Effectively Kevin,

More over, in the US Harrier pit, the windscreen glass front seems to be "linked" with the front frame!

Hi Wrench,

You mean like the picture below. It is from this thread http://combatace.com/topic/63496-j-35-draken-sfp1-cockpit-wip/

They made a work arround by using  '' "opaque/see through frames" as a compromise."

I opend up a SF1 A-4 pit lod with notepad, and found a bunch of Node's

But not one of them made the front struts disappear.

This is what I found:

Centurion-1 and sophocles are both making a F-5 variant including a cockpit, so I'll wait patiantly for them to release them one day.

I the mean time there are lots of other nice planes to fly.

Coupi and Wrench thanks for the explanations.
