+russouk2004 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 (edited) Right.....im fekkin baffled.....Radome refuses to rotate in Z-axis Radome links to a cylinder (spinner) then spinner to fuselage I have reset xform all parts, axis are aligned correctly...when I check all the parts, the axis seem ok...checked them in local and world, and view views....and the axis\pivot seems fine.. I copied veltros radome and data.ini entries and it refuses to rotate correctly... it rotates round the y axis, when I link it to fuselage, then rotates thru x axis when linked to the radome support.. Radome>Radomemotor(spinner)>Radomesupport>fuselage.. neither way works correctly... data for spinner linked direct to fuselage... Ed sent me his max file of the sentry radome parts...did mine same way and no go... fuselage section ... same as veltros apart from names SystemName[001]=Pilot1SystemName[002]=Pilot2SystemName[003]=FuselageFuelCellSystemName[004]=crewdoor SystemName[005]=NosegearSystemName[006]=landinglight1SystemName[007]=landinglight2SystemName[008]=TopFuselageLightSystemName[009]=BottomFuselageLightSystemName[010]=Radome then fake engine... same as veltros apart from names [Radome]SystemType=PROP_ENGINEInputName=THROTTLE_CONTROLEngineID=9SLPowerDry=1.0SpinnerNodeName=RadarmotorStaticPropNodeName=SlowPropNodeName=FastPropNodeName=SlowPropRPM=10FastPropRPM=10MaxPropRPM=10IdlePropRPM=10BSFC=0.00298ExhaustEmitterName=ExhaustPosition=FireSuppression=TRUEMinExtentPosition=-0.056,-3.648,5.383MaxExtentPosition=0.056,-3.535,5.383ConstantSpeed=FALSERotationAxis=Z-Axis any ideas...spot a typo?...i fekkin give up Edited October 17, 2014 by russouk2004 Quote
+Dels Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 (edited) You're gonna kick yourself but the mesh for all engines need to be set with the Y axis aligned for their rotation regardless of their real world position. This is because the game will always spin them around their Y axis. So in this case you will need to have the radome mesh pivot with the Y axis pointing up. (or the radome motor mesh if you want that to spin too) Dels Edited October 17, 2014 by Dels Quote
+RAVEN Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 ? Is that a similar 'Rule' As aft pointing MG's being exported 180'deg to work correctly? Quote
+russouk2004 Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 (edited) OMG consider ass kicked......I didnt think of that...and I knew it.....helos....doh.... thnx dels.... One Radome...rotating...! Edited October 17, 2014 by russouk2004 5 Quote
+Dels Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 RAVEN, if you take "rule" to mean: The way things must be regardless of what happens in reality, then yes. And this game has bucket loads of them... Russo, happy to help. (I'm sure it won't be long before I'm posting a similar topic due to short term memory loss) Dels Quote
+whiteknight06604 Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 Just curious here but is this a real or fictional aircraft? I'm only asking because the radar really looks way to large for the spindly supports to my untrained eye that is. So if it's a fictional work I humbly suggest beefing up the supports a bit if it's real then I'm wanting to know what the hell they are made of . Quote

Real aircraft but as of now commercial liner...my awacs is a what if...seems a good airframe for such a thing... you are right about the supports...its not finished....im going by some info ive gleaned... +russouk2004 Posted October 22, 2014 Author Posted October 22, 2014 Better, was going to add tension wires but thought better... New gears...engine details...better textures, fixed some mapping items...need to move\hide huds in pit....wrench will know... working engine reversers on ground only, 1 Quote
