+KnightWolf45 1,147 Posted November 30, 2014 after redding Raven´s tread about the multi shocks and the fake gear solution i have question would a fake gear help in this case? becose i only have one fisical mesh for a gear the outher two floats dont touch the ground! i have dragging for years on my HD for that reason only! +RAVEN 414 Posted November 30, 2014 Four tiny wheel mesh's. Two hidden in the main float, one in each wing float. Then fake out the Game Engine with the Rolling radius. Something like that should work.
Wrench 9,851 Posted November 30, 2014 Pete!!?? that sounds like it would work. I know on Pasko's Rex, he actually HAS landing gear wheels that retract into the main float.
+KnightWolf45 1,147 Posted November 30, 2014 yes its a pete i could use the tga from the fake pilot on "fake wheels" right?
+RAVEN 414 Posted November 30, 2014 (edited) Daniel, I'm setting up my Testbed AC for another AC that I'm working on for my shock test. I'll run a Fake Rolling Radius test without the Gear on the export model too test it, but right now I'm dead tired from just getting off work, it's 3AM here So I'll get back to you with the results. Yes on the Texture, but if their completely hidden it shouldn't matter, I think. Raven Edited November 30, 2014 by RAVEN
+KnightWolf45 1,147 Posted November 30, 2014 rest first has you can my plane his far from even its frist run in game so we got time man!
Wrench 9,851 Posted November 30, 2014 probably. but if the node is "not really there", (invisible mesh? is that possible?) or just stated in the ini would that work?
+russouk2004 6,958 Posted November 30, 2014 (edited) make a small box,or even one plane....hide it in the float...make float the parent, and float legs as the main gear strut or whatever....dont assign texture just default will do...in "Wheel" properties...disable cast shadow Float legs> Float> box box would be fake wheel.... in data.ini [maingearleft]SystemType=LANDING_GEARRetractable=FALSEHideGearNode=FALSEModelNodeName=FLOATLEG NAME HEREShockAnimationID=-1WheelNodeName=BOXRotationAxis=ALTER THE NUMBER YOU HAVE HERE TIL FLOAT SITS ON GROUND PROPERLYReverseModelOrientation=RollingRadius=SIZE HERE AS NORMALCastoringWheel=FALSE <here unless you want to put the fake wheel as rudder to steerCastoringNodeName=Steerable=FALSERollingCoefficient=0.0MaxLoadFactor=8.0 leave Edited November 30, 2014 by russouk2004
+RAVEN 414 Posted December 1, 2014 Well it works! Don't mind the jets on the wings, I'm testing a Animation for them also. The Zip is the data i used, Shocks need refining, but you don't need to animate any of it. Testbed2_DATA.zip
