B52STRATO 215 Posted May 9, 2015 (edited) An A400m has crashed at approx 2 km off Sevilla airport this morning. Spain prime minister M. Rajoy told to the press there was about 8 to 10 peoples onboard. This first lost of an A400M involves aircraft MSN23, which was intended to enter service with the Turkish Air Force. It should have been the third on a ten aircraft contract with the TAF to replace their aging Transall fleet. Edited May 9, 2015 by B52STRATO

B52STRATO 215 Posted May 12, 2015 (edited) According to one of the surviving FE the aircraft would have suffered failure on more than one of its TP400. Edited May 12, 2015 by B52STRATO
JediMaster 451 Posted May 13, 2015 Last I heard was suspected fuel line/system issue. Contamination, failure, not sure...
FastCargo 412 Posted May 14, 2015 Contamination of the fuel filters would do it. In the DC-10, if you got a 'Fuel Filter' light...that was shorthand for a 'land right the hell NOW' because the next signal would be an engine failure. If the aircraft was being built in Sevilla, all the fuel lines would have been open. It could literally have been some sort of adhesive, etc, that was accidentally left in the main fuel tank that broke up into tiny grains when it was filled with jet fuel. Those grains would act like sand in a car gas tank...clog the fuel filters...and that would be it. However, this is all VERY early speculation. FC
