+Crusader Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 The TW F-14A_Iran has the compressed nosegear strut, used by USN for carrier catapult takeoffs. Just doesnt look right for a land-based F-14... I changed the default values for Spring and Damping factors , that tweak will raise the nose-down angle by ~ 2.4° // Landing Gears ---------------------------------------------------------[NoseGear]...SpringFactor=7.0DampingFactor=5.0 ... 2 Quote
+Kulbit80 Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Thanks Crusader! Works fine on all TW Tomcats. Now it looks real on the ground. Quote
+Crusader Posted April 30, 2018 Author Posted April 30, 2018 Collecting several small mods of the TW F-14A Tomcat Quote
+Crusader Posted April 30, 2018 Author Posted April 30, 2018 Here is the latest: F-14A_Iran.zip Re-colored lights for the ACM panel and the radio channel indicator texture, all changed from amber to red. To use the textures with the SF2NA F-14A and F-14A_77, remove "_Iran" from the file names. Move or copy the files into the respective cockpit folder(s) 6 Quote
CowboyTodd41 Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 Would it be possible to use this same method to change the nose gear strut on the Phantom so that it is fully extended for carrier launches? Quote
+Crusader Posted May 6, 2018 Author Posted May 6, 2018 Ive never tried it with the F-4, but with the F-5E. The easy way (modifying spring factors etc.) did not work with this model., I experimented with modified on-ground angles and special flap setups ... cant remember if I got it working to how I wanted it to work.
