I recently had a few problems with my existing computer and I have decided to upgrade to Windows 10 whilst I am having the repairs done.

Might I ask you guys here at Combat Ace if First Eagles 1(First Generation ) runs  okay on Windows 10.

Thanks in advance for any advice or information you can offer.

Cheers

I can't comment specifically on FE1/gold, but I'm sure some flyers of FE1 will pitch in soon with helpful tips. I wouldn't be surprised if similar tips that work for FE2 will also work well for FE1. FE2, for example, works fine on Win10 - I do however recommend running it, and SF2, in Win7 compatibility mode. Also, for FE2, I recommend checking over my post linked to below, in case you get poor frame rates in Win10:

Happy flying,

Well I have installed Windows 10 on my new rig and got it working okay, but sadly I have lost First Eagles. I have tried various suggestions from posts which I read at this site but sadly, it will not run anymore. The game will open and display but when I create a mission and try to load it, the whole game crashes to desktop. Any more ideas or useful suggestions will be gratefully received.  Thanks in advance.

The only thing I can think of, which I may have mentioned in the previous posts, is to run the FE exe in Win7 compatibility mode - although my advice applies to FE2 (and SF2). Hopefully someone who runs the 1st gen. of FE on Win10 will be able to give some suggestions.
