alexis99 Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 How does my wingman know that I "got one"? I'm flying the stock F-14 in SF2NA; I have four targets on the Radar just coming into range of the Phoenix. I have already designated each target with a phoenix. I launch each phoenix, and wait. After a short while my wingman says "Ya got one", Good shot", "You're awesome"," Will you marry me?".( I think I made some of those up). That's how I know I hit the target. But how does he know? I can't visually target them because they are too far away. I could watch the missiles going in, but that's cheating. How do I know the kills happened, other than some time after my wingman has given the game away, the radar shows spinning targets? Quote
Trotski Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 Ahhh Grasshopper , eternal question of most interesting happenings , if tree in forest , falls when no one sees, does tree make sound ....................Or in this case is your wingman secretly in love with you, and wants to make sure you know for a fact, that you poop rainbows, which smell of roses, and you fly your Turkey Bird like the very angels themselves, and therefore it is inconceivable that you may possibly miss. 5 Quote

It's just how the game is coded so you know their is a kill, it happens with every plane. Then your wingman tells you that their firing a missile (other flights too) so you know what's going on. True, you can watch it on the radar display (or HUD depending on plane) as your kill goes down, but it just gives you situational awareness that's just a gameism. 2 Quote
yakarov79 Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 And in fact, your wingman/flight is controlled by the same 01010101 as the enemy so...they know things... 3 Quote
