VFC_Baxter 19 Posted July 30, 2021 I was curios to see if anyone is using Linux and playing this game? I keep hearing about Windows 11 is coming etc., and I am not sure my ageing laptop will cope with that so I was wondering about running this on an alternative OS. +VonS 1,424 Posted July 30, 2021 (edited) For WOFF on Linux, I recommend this thread: https://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4566520/if-i-can-run-woffue-on-linux-is-there-any-reason-bh-h2-wouldnt-work#Post4566520 The WOFF-in-Wine-on-a-Mac instructions that "Q" is referring to in those posts are available here for BH&H2: https://combatace.com/forums/topic/96159-installing-woff-bhh-2-on-a-mac-in-wineskin-and-win10-bootcamp/ For older UE/PE eds. of WOFF, recommended instead is the relevant section in this post: https://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4345346/installing-woff-ue-pe-bh-h2-on-a-mac-wineskin-and-bootcamp#Post4345346 Happy tinkering with WOFF installs on obscure hardware and software setups, Von S Edited July 30, 2021 by VonS Added info. and links. VFC_Baxter 19 Posted July 30, 2021 (edited) Thank you for the prompt reply and the comprehensive information in your links. I am not going to stuff about tinkering with Linux until the dreaded Win 11 forces me to, but it is always nice to know there is an alternate OS that will continue to run the sim. I also have UE and PE versions so I should get a runner there. Edited July 30, 2021 by VFC_Baxter
catch 81 Posted July 30, 2021 It may be premature to diss win11 before it's released. I've seen a few hombres hyper-ventilating over it recently but the same thing happened with win10. End of the world the 'puter dudes said! Sure, 10 is quirky, with "features" I'm not overly fond of and I admit I was apprehensive about switching from win7 to 10. But at the end of the day and in the morning, it plays my flight sims of choice well and that's all that concerns me.
TROOPER117 146 Posted July 30, 2021 Never regretted going to Win 10... yes, there has been the odd annoying moment here and there with it, but then again you get that with all operating systems. 4 hours ago, catch said: it plays my flight sims of choice well and that's all that concerns me. Same here mate!
