HantuLaut Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 So, i download a new mod (A-6C Intruder) and it include a sound file which is correctly installed. But, when i play the game the sound is not playing while in the other hand all mod are played correctly and functionly. Please help me
+Flanker562 Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 If you have it, you may have to modify your SOUNDLIST.ini to include the new sound. The Readme may mention that, whichever sound it is, but @GKABS can chime in though since it's his mod. 1
+GKABS Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Please add to Soundlist (If you don't have the WAV sound added) under the Flight directory and change the XXX with the correct number For example [SoundList] SoundFileXXX=oo <----- where the oo is the file name included with the download file [oo] Priority=NORMAL 3DSound=FALSE FrequencyControl=TRUE NumBuffers=1 Looped=TRUE
+Wrench Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 don't forget, you'll need to extract the SoundList.ini from the Flight cat, then create a /Flight folder in your mod folder place it in there, and THEN add the new sound information. The .wav, of course, goes in the /Sounds folder (duh! )
Tristan951 Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Tried for the j5a, added SoundFile034=VK-1 in soundlist putted it into mods folder and activated it with jsgme---doesn't work- I have the same problem with the Mig-17 add on, no sound
+Wrench Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Is it safe to assume the STOCK jet engine sounds work in your install?? Don't use JSGME. You HAVE to edit things by hand. Also, MAKE DOUBLE DAMN SURE THE NUMBER OF THE SOUND BEING ADDED IS IN THE PROPER NUMERICAL SEQUENCE!!!! As I see you have listed "SoundFile034=" is that the correct number in sequence to be used on your SoundList.ini? Is the edited soundlist.ini INSIDE the /Flight folder of you mods folder? See my post DIRECTLY above yours with the full sequence of events needed to occur for sounds to be added and (hopefully) work
Tristan951 Posted November 28 Posted November 28 (edited) mmmh idk about that, I used a sound mod because I hate the stock sounds, anyway all sounds work for AI planes and migs. There's this "VK-1.wav" sound file in the Mig-17c fresco mod, I open it, it's the engine sound and it works, I put it in the sound folder but when I load the game there's no sound, only the afterburner sound works for the mig. Same problem with the j5a mod, and the EAF Mig-17, casually they all use this VK-1 sound for the engine I tried to follow the editing procedure but I didn't understand it well, so I go to the flight folder and open the sound.ini text file. There's a list that stops at SoundFile033=WindLoop. In regards to the "mod" folder, I added this folder myself to use it for JSGME, sometimes I load mods manually, sometimes I use JSGME, there are not other mods folder in my game install. This is the folder where I putted a new flight cat with SoundList.ini copied from the game's flight folder, and I added a text line to the file: after SoundsFile033=windloop I wrote SoundFile034=VK-1, and then at the bottom: [VK-1] Priority=NORMAL 3DSound=FALSE FrequencyControl=TRUE NumBuffers=1 Looped=TRUE After that I tried "activating" it with JSGME lol, Yeah sorry I'm not a modding expert. I also tried doing this directly in the game's flight folder. It didn't work Edited November 28 by Tristan951
+Wrench Posted November 28 Posted November 28 did you edit the Fresco's data ini??? you have to change the sound name in there, too. and again, don't us jgsme. I'm actually surprised it works in SF2 Also, I'd like to suggest spending more than a little time in the Knowledge Base. All the basics you need to learn are pretty much in there.
