  1. It's a known Firefox issue where clearing all cookies from CA clears the issue.
  2. Hi everyone, If you use an email provider like Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, Yahoo, and others they will start bouncing our emails back to us if you place our emails in your spam folder or mark them as spam. You can whitelist our domain within these email platforms if you wish to receive future emails. The email providers are trying to prevent spam utilizing this new bounce system so once we start getting emails back that have bounced and to maintain our email reputation, we will start turning off email notifications for your account. That means you will no longer receive email notifications from us. You may choose your communication preferences here: https://combatace.com/notifications/options/ Thank you.
  3. The Corona Virus Thread

We really don't have hard data on the Omicron virus because now we have some people fully vaccinated with three shots and partially with two. So, if Omicron is infecting people, I would offer that it may be worse than Delta it only appears better because we now have people with some level of immunity. Also don't forget we have people just getting over Delta, so they have some natural immunity which is certainly impacting Omicron's lethality. Viruses usually get better at what they do, not worse. Here in the States 3 injections are the new level of protection with additional boosters to follow. Yesterday the US released a pill form of medication that is effective against Covid if taken in the first 5 days of illness. We're getting there, we will beat this thing and make enough medication for the World that we can finally put this behind us.
  4. The Corona Virus Thread

If unvaccinated hosts remain the virus will remain and if we don't get our shit together it will become endemic like the flu, which some would argue it already is.
  5. In the first video, it wasn't until I saw these young lads standing on the sidelines holding their poles that I realized the pursuit of women is the same all over the world.
  6. From Malibu43's post in the Knowledge Base: Any mods or addons you download for the 2nd Gen games may include a reference to a “Mod folder" somewhere in the readme, or where the user is supposed to put the downloaded files. However, there is no folder (nor should one be created) called “Mods”. The following is to help you understand what the “Mod folder” is referring to. When a 2nd Gen game is first installed, the game needs to be run at least once so that the game can create the “Mod folder”. After the first time you run the game, a set of directories will be created in one of two locations, depending on whether you’re running XP or Vista/WinX (where X is your version 7 thru 11). Assuming you ran the .exe for Strike Fighters 2, the directories created are as follows: WinXP C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Effects C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents \ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Sounds C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents \ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Objects\Decals C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents \ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Objects\Pilots C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents \ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Objects\Weapons Vista/WinX (Windows 7 through Windows 11) C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Effects C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Sounds C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Objects\Decals C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Objects\Pilots C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2\Objects\Weapons So, most of the time, the term “Mod(s) Folder” is referring to the “StrikeFighters2” directory in the example above, highlighted in yellow above. When you run the game, the game will look in the "Mod folder" for any files or addons first before pulling files from the main install directory. **NOTE** If you ran Strike Fighters 2: Vietnam the first time, the directory or "Mod folder" would be called “StrikeFighters2 Vietnam”. If you ran Strike Fighters 2: Europe, the directory would be “StrikeFighters2 Europe” and so on. An addon or mod may have Effects, Sounds, Objects, Campaigns, Terrains (etc..) folders contained within the zip file that are supposed to be dropped into your “Mod Folder”. You would drop those files into the StrikeFighters2 folder (in the example above) and allow to overwrite when asked. Notice that some folders are not created when the game is run the first time, and you may be required to create those folders first yourself. Prime examples being …\StrikeFighters2\Terrains and …\StrikeFighters2\Campaigns. There are too many to list all of them, but you get the idea. If the readme tells you to drop something into a directory that isn’t already there, make sure you’re looking for the right thing and that it really is missing, and then just create it yourself.
  7. Combatace access issues.

Security settings in your browser disable or invalidate the cookie so websites don't track you. This is a Firefox security thing and it's why it's only happening in Firefox. Adjust your security settings as I mentioned previously. We don't do anything other than set a cookie that says you're logged in with a timestamp and we certainly can't do anything on your computer to make things change on how you access the site.
  8. Combatace access issues.

Yep, flush the cookies and cached pages and you should be fine.
  9. Combatace access issues.

Check the security settings in Firefox ... set it to normal and see if that clears up your problem. I also noticed in my install I remove all the cookies and cached pages every time I close the browser and that setting works fine other than I have to log in every time but that's not a big deal. Thanks

  11. Combatace access issues.

Honestly, I have no idea if this is going to be an issue on your instance of FF? I use FF all the time and I've never had a problem, even with multiple logins on multiple devices. I wouldn't even know how to start help you diagnose that but check that you're allowing cookies to be stored and not erased after every session? That's my only guess. Thanks
  12. Combatace access issues.

For giggles delete all the combatace.com cookies and cached pages, restart you browser, and see if that fixes it.
  13. Combatace access issues.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can If there's a KnowledgeBase on the issue it's fairly common. Go through this step by step and see which one fixes your issue. Let me know E
  14. Combatace access issues.

Microsoft Edge - Version 93.0.961.52 (Official build) (64-bit) Firefox - Version 92.0 (64-bit) Those are the version I updated to and tried accessing CA without any issues.
  15. Combatace access issues.

Can you look in the about tab of Firefox and report to me the version you're running? Please do the same for Edge. I'm going to see if I can duplicate your problems here. I'll report back after installing both browsers. E
  16. Combatace access issues.

Backup Firefox, remove it and reinstall. Then check if the problem goes away. You can then import your backup and start troubleshooting from there as needed. There's no need for us to block specific browsers, if you have access to the site, it doesn't matter to us which browser you use. Let me know how things turn out. E
  17. Combatace access issues.

That really makes no sense, backup and reinstall Microsoft Edge if the stock version of Edge works then when you import the backup data it doesn't work, you'll know where to start looking. Additionally, you can install Chrome to see if that works which leads me back to suspecting Edge.
  18. Combatace access issues.

Makes little sense to me at all, same IP you're using the devices from or is the laptop on a home IP and the phone on a carrier IP? Regardless I've flushed the blocks and restarted the machine again. There's were no hit records in the logs for the past 24 hours like I had before so there shouldn't be any problems related to the firewall blocking you. Please let me know.
  19. Combatace access issues.

For all experiencing this problem it is not your machine, your browser (well mostly not), or your internet so please don't go crazy trying to diagnose it. The problem is in our hardware firewall configuration, I've made some changes and bounced the machine to affect the new configuration. If you are still getting the 403-error message, please let me know. The rule that is being triggered is what's called a request limit. Machines that DDOS sites make large quantity of page requests which all appear like a separate connection thus overwhelming the http daemon running a site. Modern browsers do the same thing but in a smaller quantity, they do this so that each connection takes a section of an entire page, and the browser rebuilds it to be a complete page, this is what looks like browser speed lowering the load times. The tricky part for us is all those connections can mimic a DDOS if your machine and browser are fast, which most modern machines are. If you want to see this for yourself open your browser and visit a site, for example Chrome and CA, then open your task manager and look at how many processes (instances) are running of Chrome. The rub is you can't control how a browser functions internally, there's no settings you can change to make it function differently. The only option is for the server-side to keep allocating resources to accommodate newer functionality. All that said you can download a lite version of a browser and they are designed specifically not to overwhelm your device thus they will have a smaller instance count. That's also why accessing the site on your phone works when your lap or desk devices have problems. Anyway, I'm sure this is all boring, let me know if I've gotten things right on our end and if your problems are resolved. E

  21. Taliban's new arsenal, HOLY FUDGE

I guess the peace agreement should have included the Afghan Government instead of the Taliban if we didn't want the equipment to fall into the wrong hands. I wonder what big brain person approved that agreement? My bet is that once the evacuation is complete, we'll see a concert of air strikes to destroy the caches of equipment left for and by the Afghan Government.
  22. Universe size comparison in 3d

Size of the known universe: 150,000,000,000 light years - Circumference of Earth: 24,901 miles - Speed of light: 186,282 miles per second If you were traveling at the speed of light (186,282 miles per second), you'd travel the circumference of the earth (24,901 miles) in .0074 of a second. The human eye blinks in .3333 of a second, so at light speed you could travel the earth's circumference forty-five times in the time it takes to blink. If you traveled across the universe at the speed of light it would take you 150,000,000,000 (150 billion) years or 54,750,000,000,000 (fifty-four trillion, 750 billion) days or 1,898,734,177 (one billion, eight hundred ninety-eight million, seven hundred thirty-four thousand, one hundred seventy-seven) average human life spans. We still think we're the only ones in the universe. My brain hurts.
