But, now for some good news. It looks like the guys from ATAG have cracked the code and have begun assembling the clans to attack this with a vengance. Their first order of business is to fix the "altitude bug" so you can actually get to 30K and un-pork the FMs using historical data. I'd really like it if they would strip out the exteranious crap and overly huge textures, but first things first. May take years, but it may actually get fixed eventually.

Here is a quote from the new developers that speaks volumes about CloD and why it died... 15) Do you plan the level of graphics cockpits like in basic models in CLOD (Spitfire/Bf-109)? No. You will not see this. The reasons are simple. The creation of one such cockpit takes a year, sometimes more. The popularity of the genre has to be phenomenal for such expenses were justified. If we are not careful, the budget ends and with it the end of the project. It is also not too wise to use more PC than necessary and use twenty textures, where it was sufficient to use three. Not being smart with resources can result in serious performance problems. We hope to find a balanced solution. Good performance with nice looking cockpits. Almost as if they could SEE what caused CloD's crappy performance.

Now there is a chance that I might buy this since 777 is involved (if they fix the dual core issue they had with ROF). If it had stayed in the hands of Luthier and those ass clowns at 1C, I would burn in hell before I'd give them a damn dime. It (CloD) runs now, at least. But it's still like having a Ferrari that you sit on milk crates to drive and shift with a pair of vice grips.

That's what killed it in the first place. You only had a handful of GT1s. More at Le Mans, usually, but the rest of the time just a handful or less.

There are several all in one patches available. It makes patching easier.

I remember on I had in a snowstorm that reminded me a lot of that picture. I started out with 5 Nieuports and got home with one and myself. Albies out of the snow. Never saw them until they shot. I remember circling around in a "clearing" between cloudbanks trying to find everyone. Instead, two found me. I killed one and ran for home with my wing man. The screenies were lost during my last HD crash.
