SF2 Korea Terrain (V3)
JonathanRL replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
All hail glorious comrade Leader Wrench! He created Korea on a simple, Korean Computer for the benefit of the people and Woe of the Capitalist Imperialists! -
Shoulder Cam
JonathanRL replied to RogerSmith's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
The F-14 Tomcat Viewlist Mod has a very similar mode. You will be unable to see the HUD ofc, but the Aircraft will be down bottom in your screen and fixed there. -
Building a Campaign For Persian Golf Terrain

There is one. Operation Darious, for SF2. You will not find many who makes Campaigns for SF1 nowadays. -
In case anyone was wondering....

Well, here is the thing: What you see in the Squadron List are not Squadrons, they are "Flottiljer". Each Flottilj is centered around a peacetime airstrip, and several war time airstrips, during the cold war they where hidden in forests, or nearby civilian strips, or highway strips. The translation of the word Flottilj is Air Wing and they work pretty much the same way. At every flottilj, there is one to five divisions attached. Most Flottiljer specializes in either attack or fighter; with recon divisions attached. So, Saying F 7 Såtenäs is a squadron is wrong, but it works in Squadronlist anyway since few - if any - in Sweden bothers mentioning the divisions unless they say where they server or telling a tale. Or writing a book. -
Viggen, the beautiful brute......
JonathanRL replied to Derk's topic in Military and General Aviation
Tell that to A-Teams tweakers. That is however not the only problem with that bird, there is quite a few. Loadout issues, hole in model issues, the list goes on. But yes, the Viggen is a glory to see fly. I saw her at an airshow this summer. The sound alone, m´boys, the sound alone! If I where on a Soviet ship and heard that, I´d be quaking in my boots. -
North Atlantic cruise missiles: Have you ever downed any?
JonathanRL replied to thodouras95's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
It can be done, but its more cost effective to waste your ordinance on the Aircraft who release them. That way, the Ships will not fire on any stray aircraft that got close; only on the Cruise Missiles. -

Regarding the Swedish Air Force, just ask and I will answer. Regarding the Swedish Air Force and Squadronlist; it is actually already pretty accurate and TSF is bound to those entries. Only F 2 Hägernäs is missing from the Swedish Air Force part of Squadronlist and that is a sea plane squadron. -
The Future of Formosa Campaigns
JonathanRL replied to JonathanRL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Checking some of the SF1 Chinese Birds; I came across this: Does crushing their standing army, air force and navy in a simulator count as "use against"? Current ideas: First Taiwan Straight Crisis: Mao dictates that Taiwan must be taken. Maybe a Communist Rebellion provides PRC with a beachhead. Lots of Propeller action, not much naval action (maybe just one or two ships). Third Taiwan Straight Crisis A good basis for a Campaign. Lots of naval combat, but the problem is that such a spontaneous crisis could never result in something as complex as an invasion. The US would not want to and the PLA would know better then to actually launch one against an alerted enemy . China-Taiwan 2014/2015: Skip the Baltic 2014 altogether and make a Formosa one on the same topic. Modern Chinese and Taiwan ships. Minimal US Support, maybe only a single Carrier Group with Super Bugs and two USAF Squadrons of F-22/F-35 with Taiwans F-16s. A-Team has the f*** One (as it will be referred to from now on) so I can use the AlternateSquadron Line to add it for people who has the actual aircraft. Story would probably involve oil. War in the next twenty years will most likely revolve around this; esp considering current quite good relations between PRC & ROC. Would if possible contain one of these, pref with J-10 or J-15. At this point in time; I would humbly not even want to look at a Campaign including a F-4 Phantom, so any 60-70-80 is completely up to somebody else. I am a little tired of that aircraft, that is all. Nothing personal. -
Operation Formosa Freedom

What's New in Version 1.1 (See full changelog) - J-5/H-5 should now appear as they should. - Minor typos and bug fixes corrected. - PLAAN Naval Strategy revised to account for the unexpected teleportation capacity of their ships. - B 57B is now flyable; even in Campaigns. - B 47E removed; replaced with B 52D. Any person who may or may not be the cause of this is now forbidden to enjoy the campaign. - Improved skins for J-5, J-6, H-5, F-86F & F-100D, thanks Paulopanz. - J-2 included as Optimal for Expansion Pack 1 users. -

A quandry...
JonathanRL replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
As a Campaign Maker, there is nothing I hate more then having to sort out any GroundObjects I do not want. Well, Ground War then... but sorting out unwanted objects comes a close second So kindly, put them separately. In the same 7zip or as a different entry altogether, I do not care. -
Operation Formosa Freedom
JonathanRL replied to JonathanRL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Aight, then restore NavalMap=TRUE in the Formosa.ini The Campaign should work; but you cannot use the Formosa Map in Single Missions. Also, pass a curse TKs way. NA Scripts was no issue in 3rd party campaigns before he did this. -

Operation Formosa Freedom
JonathanRL replied to JonathanRL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
That is because NavalMap is set to True. Go to Formosa.ini ; remove NavalMap=True and try again. However, even if you cannot see the terrain in Single Mission, the Campaign works just fine. This is only necessary if you want to use the Terrain in Single Missions. -
Anything coming out? I hope so
JonathanRL replied to macelena's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I think TK once mentioned that the Expansion Pack formula will go along the lines of "Most Voted Plane + Least Voted Plane". With the Expansion 3 main feature being the Mirage F1, it is natural to assume the second aircraft of the Expansion - if any - will be the Super Mystere B2. -
Best high res terrain mod for all SF2 locations?
JonathanRL replied to BradenFTW's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Please note that most terrains require a CAT file; the most universally done one is the GermanyCE.Cat file. For you to get this, you need to purchase Strike Fighters 2 Europe - at least last time I checked. Once there, the road is open for you; Photorealistic Britain, Sweden, Formosa, Starys Germany - All the best terrains (and their campaigns) available in a heartbeat. -
Operation Formosa Freedom

Bugs found. Next patch will fix these bugs; above else will the bug that causes H-5 / J-5 not to appear will be fixed. New skins will also be provided, as well as water map and a few minor changes. -
Samurai's Shipyard
JonathanRL replied to WhiteBoySamurai's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Battle is raging for Makung. The Republic of China Marines Greyhounds are trying to repel the enemy amphibious landing. The PRCs secret weapon is just outside the Island. Poor Marines... This is accurate Fire Support over a considerable distance. Cheers, WhiteboySamurai. Your ships adds a completely new dimension to my campaigns! -

If I did not want suggestions, I would not have asked for them ;-) However, since my latest project is now complete (Pending approval), its time to see what can be done with this one. When I had exactly 1 hour and 50 minutes modding break :D -
WoV stock A-4s Clear tail section

If anybody know how to replicate that effect on a model, preferably so it can be turned on and off (on the entire aircraft), please contact me; but do not forget to assist the dear lad with his problem.
