Using Marcfighters files - I updated the MIG-17 and 19 AI planes and they work great but when i updated the MIG-21MF and MIG21-PMF they messed up my graphics and other stuff. My wingman can fly through me as tho i wasn't there (or is my plane being echoed?)? My thrust is blazing away but not where its supposed to be (angle is off by up to 180 degrees ( totally off and i have no control of the plane) - sometimes my wingman is flyiing directly through my plane without any damage (a mirror image of my plane maybe??). Even happens in flights of 4 planes, they all want to occupy the same space i'm in or flying around without any control........ Not a hit on you Marc,! I'm sure its something i'm doing but i cannot figure out what it is.. Does the MIG21-MF/21-PMF have radar??? thanks for any help!!! savagkc

1. Try this: Single mission, CAS, F-4E. Take off, circle and wait for wingman, Tell him to rejoin, Press ALT+N At this point, i always collide with my wingman, but do not crash. If i press the DEL key (no cockpit) i see two missles under the gunsight. and the graphics, flight, is messed up like i'm flying sideways or have no control over plane. This has happened 3 times - each time a power-down reboot the system. I went to an outside view (F6), each time i watched as my wingmans plane flew right through my plane (as tho i wasn't there). Anyone having this problem? ------------------------------------------ 2. The default.ini refuses to hold the key settings i assign. Making key assignments directly to the file (vs in-game) does not help. Make some changes then compare to the in-game settings. They are different. DO NOT put a "Read only" attribute on the default.ini, the game will CTD. I'm going to try installing 1 more time, think its the 3rd/4th time. If i still have problems, to the shelf it goes (until the next patch, LOL). Shame really, cause i like the game but its to unstable in its present state. I do have the patch installed. savagkc PS: When you do the remove of the game, do not try the option repair (or whatever) , i dont think it works (this could be only if you have made mods????). Dont know but it didn't fix anything for me.

Anyone having a problem with the joystick not returning to center after looking right or left out of the cockpit with the pov switch? Doesn't do it every time but enought to be worrysome, specially in a dogfight. i did re-sync the stick but it didn't help. thanks, savagkc (clif)

Ok, something strange. On my sys the patch/desert/deuces worked fine. On my brothers system, it wont get past the loadup screen before CTD (however , it works fine with the desert terrain). We both did full (clean) installs of the game then patched it. I have an intell sys and his is a athlon. Dont know if this will help pin it down but..... I know deuces was installed correctly, according to readme. I'm stumped and so is he. Waiting to see what u come up with...... thanks, savagkc -
What is the Controlset002 (in the default.ini) used for?????? When viewing weapons (particularly ground weapons, bombs, rockets), i see the zoom is activated but is it possible to change the angle of the view? Like maybe using the POV switch? Look at cfs2/cfs3 for a good example, works specially good when viewing rockets, torpedoes. One more, (Suggestion) the view when the weapon explodes is to close to the explosion. Would it be possible to view the explosion from say around 100/200 yards? Currently it seems like the view is about 10/20 yards.... thanks, savagkc

try moving the patch to the same HD where the game is installed. I was getting an error msg about missing file and this seems to have fixed the patch install for me..... I also had it on "D" drive and i did unstall the game and did a clean install back to drive D. Then put the patch on the root of drive D. savagkc

Looks/feels much better. Some great improvements. Only tried a couple missions so far, but i like what i see. Still have to re-do my skins, etc but : Good job TK and co-workers!!! savagkc -

Dont know if it was a bad D/L or a file was misnamed or a bad bmp file. I found a different zip file of the same version, pulled it and the install went fine. I double checked and i'm putting it down to a bad D/L of a zip. thanks for the help, -
What does it mean when u install a new skin but it only shows up as a white plane? No markings (or skin?) at all. thanks,

Quick fix is right. Problem with using the pause key is that it pauses, better than nothing tho. Using the weapons view, the switch back is just to fast for the pause key i think, would be better if the view would linger there a couple seconds after the explosion. I managed to extend the life of the ground explosions somewhat by changing values in the particle file (explosions, fire and ground changes). In some cases i more than tripled the values so, once in a while, i'm fast enough to get a partical view but not a good view of them. Maybe, the patch will fix these short-comings. Hope they dont wait for the international release tho. thanks, savagkc

Hopefully this is clear enough to be understandable. Is there a way to extend the time of a specific view? When i press the player to weapon or weapon to player view the view reverts back to quickly when the weapon explodes, giving no time to actually view the explosion. OR Is there a way to speedup the POV (external view) rotation? Thnking that if the view timing cannot be changed, maybe by speeding up the rotation of POV, explosions can be viewed. And, failing that, Is there a full screen rear view that can be made available (not the mirrors)?? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A bug? In the default.ini, this command: REJECT_RADAR_TARGET=CTRL+DELETE actually removes my cockpit but leaves the gunsight... Anyone else have this? thanks,

Yes, i hadn't done that much to it (yet). Hopefully the patch will make it right and not to many will have to do a reinstall to get the patch working properly. savagkc

Ranger, Thanks. I did a reinstall to another HD (and cancelled before the Direct8 install) . Found it there, just have to replace the mods that i added. Will keep a backup of the original somewhere safe, this time. Thanks again for the help, savagkc
