Damaged B-2 returns to service

No, but the stealth is why it takes 47 man hours to get it fixed. -

Damaged B-2 returns to service
JediMaster replied to Wrench's topic in Military and General Aviation
That's not because of the plane itself, that's because of the stealth features. Fixing it isn't that hard, it's making sure it's still stealthy when you're done. -
Hill starts transition from F-16s

Depends on how old and upgraded they are. However, safe money is that at worst they would go to the ANG while the ANG mothballs some ones it's using that are far older. -
DCS : Flaming Cliffs 3 - coming soon
JediMaster replied to MigBuster's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Publicly they've stated that FC3 sales are very good, better than most DCS titles, and that they acknowledge the interest and have the intent to do more to that level. They have not however announced any specific plans (or planes) in that area as of yet. -
Yes, it could be. I have no idea where this location is, so it could be far from the main areas, and air would be most effective way to get there. Still, unless it's a rare occurrence (this doesn't tell you how often they do it, just that they have) you'd think they'd come up with a cheaper way.

It does seem like overkill to send bombers against ice in a river, though. You would think infantry capable of that for less cost.

The benefits of having the sound turned off on my PC at work...I just SEE the horror, I don't hear it.

Actually caught the 15's taxiing, good timing there.

DCS : Flaming Cliffs 3 - coming soon
JediMaster replied to MigBuster's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
The main difference is FC3 is part of DCS World and gets all the updates and benefits of that. So there are more AI planes in DCS World (UH-1s, P-51s, A-10Cs), you can fly MP with other people, and the upcoming DX11 renderer will improve performance and appearance. Oh, and the A-10A and F-15C are getting AFMs, so they'll fly better. There are also periodic sales. The last was in December, the price was like 50% off at that time IIRC. If you can't swing the full price, wait for that, although it's hard to say how long that wait will be. I do think it's worth it, though, as FC2 has some serious deficiencies in AA missiles that are getting fixed in DCS World. No more patches for FC2. -

What is DLC #28 ?
JediMaster replied to Otto's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
It introduced new AI-only (non-flyable) planes. Those files don't exist if you don't have it. -
It's logic proven by empirical evidence.

Seeing as the decimal system predates their birth, the creation of dynamite, or toxic waste dumps, I think it's too late! -
DCS:MiG-21Bis finalization and publishing on hold

I think it obvious from this screenshot that they went back and redid 110% of what they had before. -
The 23 didn't have the TVC nozzles on the engines. Stealthier from the rear, certainly, but I would say the 23 was the superior interceptor while the 22 was more air superiority. Of course, just as the F-22A differs quite a bit from the YF-22 (which IMO is quite ugly compared to the 22A) the F-23A would likely have had some significant work done too. It never would've been as agile as the 22. I also question its underwing external "low threat environment" load as the wings get short chord very fast due to the diamond layout. My personal estimate is that for all the work they're doing trying to make the F-22 capable of doing more than just shooting down other planes, the 23 would've been behind it in that area.

Phantastic!

We have 10 fingers, 10 toes, 5 on each appendage. My personal theory as to the reason the decimal system is so prevalent. -
Swing-wing planes are the biggest PITA models to make. I made a 1:72 F-14, 1:72 MiG-23, and 1:72 B-1B and UGH they all gave major headaches with the wings.

I've got a lot more than I'd like to the point that you no longer have to look hard to see them in my hair. Of course, I'm now 40. What pisses me off isn't that they're not dark. It's that 1) mine are silver. Like tinsel silver. They catch the light like jewelry 2) they're not JUST silver. They also do not behave like my dark hair. They don't brush back the same, they stick out. They FEEL different. So not only do they stand out because of the color, they actually STAND OUT. I just yank out about 1/3 of the worst offenders.
