Whats better than flying with you squad mates? When patch 2 comes out someday, there will be lots of squad on squad play. Dont be left out!!! Squad vs Squad, and inter-squad play is the best way to sharpen your skills. VF-143 Pukin Dogs are recruiting. Requirements are as follows. Must be somewhat fond of the Navy. We fly F-4's with the VF-143 skin. Must be dedicated enough to show up at practice. Practice is not everyday. Must be somewhat of a "class" individual, in other words, not a disrespectful, immature individual. Must answer your email (within a reasonable time frame). Contact with other squad mates helps to gel as a team, and allows for ease of coordination. Your abilities as a simming pilot will not be scrutinized, it doesnt matter if you just bought the game today, and are barely able to get off the ground. Your skills will improve if you practice. Im sure we are all tired of hearing about how the patch didnt patch much in mp, but it did make it somewhat more playable. But... Heres my problem. Terrain, everybody uses standard desert terrain (the stock), because the game only allows for exact host to player specs... same planes, same maps, blah blah blah. The problem is that I can host games (and of course I use the default "desert" terrain, so others can play), but I cannot join a game, because the stupid ass game tells me that i dont have the same terrain as the host, and then goes on to say that I may not fly in that session. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem, and figured out a way around it, or some way to fix it. Hopefully your answers will help me and many others, greatly.

I just got the game like a week ago, and the single play sucked (after two A2A kills the game would crash... everytime). But hey atleast i could get into MP, and fly until somebody hit "R", needless to say that got old immediatly. So i get the patch, and single play is great, I am actually learning the game (without it crashing). But MP, is a total drag, ive tried everything, tips from all sources, and I still get that aweful black screen. I think I spent something like 4 hours on HL trying to sort it out, uninstall, reinstall, in all sorts of combinations, deleting folders, moving skins, and nothing worked.... except this once. I had to wait out the black screen for like a minute only one other guy joined the game, and im pretty sure he loaded because his plane was on the map, but then he left... so maybe he didnt load. I dont know if loading all by yourself is an indication that my game isnt messed up, or it could be that everyone elses is. I carried out Fast Eagles intructions completely, so im beginning to wonder if some people just havent done the right thing with the patch (uninstall the whole thing including the folder, and then reinstall, and then patch). But then again i could be wrong. I am beginning to feel that SFP1 is a black mark over the Strategy First name, they should stick to their name's sake "strategy" and not sims. So regardless of all the tips people are throwing around, about what to do with the patch, I have this to say is, there should never be any discussion about the effectiveness of a patch, it should fix everything, and not mess up anything in the process, there should be no special process to install, it should just be click "install", and then be ready to go. My few experiences in this past week with this game, make me feel incredibly sorry for you people that have had this game for months. No I'm not a code writer, or a software producer, I am simply an American Consumer, and as one I demand excellence, and this thing, that i see being discussed at great length on these boards is part of the reason why the PC gaming market is being run down by the PS2's and X-Boxes of the gaming industry. The only reason why I am even playing this game anymore, is because I put myself in a position to be obligated to Fast Eagle and my fellow Pukin Dogs. Unlike the people at Third Wire, I plan on sticking with an endeavor untill it is finished. Jason R. Saffell

I am brand new to the game, but im picking it up very quickly. Most of my experience (lately) is with IL2, this is the first jet sim I have had since USNF, and the whole radar thing is finaly coming back to me. I am a bit scared of hyperlobby (and the counter shows damn few people on it), and nobody seems to play on gamespy (3-4 people at any given time). I've seen in some posts that alot of you guys only fly with your respective squadrons. I was just wondering if anybody was looking for another dedicated squadron member. Cheers, Jay

i did, none to be found, pukin dogs and shamrocks are all there, i went to coyotes den, and column5 and no sundowners. Im not bitching, its just that its my dads old squadron, and I dont want to fly in any other colors. Cheers, Jay

No teeth on the nose, and the sun on the tail is way way way off. I hate to be picky, but im not very good at skinning, and I know that there are some very artistic people in this form... somewhere. If nobody wants to make it, could you atleast give me some tips on how to make a skin that doesnt look like crap. If one of you gents would like to make it, be sure to add the USS Coral Sea lettering to it. Screaming eagles would be a good one to make aswell. Cheers, Jay I appreciate all posts.

Actually I dont even have SFP1 yet, but I'm gonna get it tommorrow. I was just wondering if anybody has any VF-111 skins for the F-4. And where do you go to play online?

I'm getting really bored now a days, no good games out there that I dont already have, I've got the shooters, and the sports games, and IL2 is getting to be numbing. So I went into Best Buy today and looked at SF, and I couldnt decide on whether or not to buy it, just sat there staring at it for like 10 minutes, and said screw it, I'll just wait for LOMAC, but then again it wont be out for a good bit. So I'd like to know all of your thoughts on SFP1. Can you fly a Navy F-4 in it? Cheers, Jay

Jesus! I've seen that pic with F-4's, 14's, 16's aswell. Anybody got anyshots of Mig-25's or 31's excorting one of our bombers back? I've never seen one, and the Russians say we were the aggressors during the Cold War. Great Screen! Cheers, Jay

What ever plane(s) they do add, or hopefully add, I just hope they dont do the Forgotten Battles thing. I'd rather see an X-pack than a whole new game. I did vote for the Tornado, i'd rather see the IDS up there though. cheers, Jay

Damn those A-10 pilots!!! They always buzz my neighborhood every time they come into Patrick AFB. God this game looks sexy!!! I just hope the game lives up to the looks and the hype. On another note, why god? why didnt they make this game applicable to Aviators (THE NAVY). I hope they come out with some sort of X-pack for us squids. Its not cool at all that we can use a Su-33 and not an F-14.

If you have read my only other post you will know that I have a hard on for the Sukhoi series, so here goes. Will the "Pugachev" Cobra maneuver be available for the Su-27? I have had a good number of flight sims in my years of gaming and I have noticed that most planes are not special. They all have the same maneuvers, and most are close to having the same top speed and ceiling. So the question is... Is LOMAC gonna be just another cheesy "Jane's" game? I didnt go out and buy USAF because I hate the zoom zooms, but i had the box set of jane's (christ I think is was USNF, and Nato Fighters and something else, but it was old). And everything was the same. Are the planes going to be dramatically different from eachother or are the boys at LOMAC rushing this thing, because of all the delays? I dont want to see an F-4 staying with an F-16 in a dogfight!!!

:roll: What good is manueverability? Well im sorry, im not a pilot, maybe you can ask a Vietnam era pilot where his balls were when they were in a close in dogfight with a mig-21 (im guessing somewhere high-up, maybe in his throat). Are you forgetting that missles and radar arent the only thing that make an airplane. Speed and manueverability are life. By the way your little pissant Air Force fighters will be blind when a Su-35 shoots down your AWACS, 250 plus miles away with the KS-172 (our longest range is what 90? with the Phoenix). Then we will see when maneuverability is needed. Oh I forgot even without the KS, the Su-35 has the same engagement range as any Western fighter (with the exception of a Phoenix armed F-14). Maybe you could be sold on the Su-35 if you knew what you were talkin about. But it doesnt matter since the plane wont be in the game anyway.
