  1. Setting Up a Blip Switch in OFF

Hi Everyone I just got word that Andy73 has completed the update of all the rotary engines sound files to support the Blip Switch action. I will shortly update my 'Grand Bundle OFF Sounds Mods JSGME Enabled' pack in the CA Downloads with his new files. I am pretty sure that Andy73 will update his Aircraft Sounds mod as well. @RS I got the Blip Switch macro to work on my Saitek Cyborg V1 JS. The only issue I found is that when I blip the engine several times, quickly, the action may fall out of sync. I have to hit the 'Mags Off' keyboard key (I am using the remapped PERIOD) one or two times in rapid succession to restore the press/release blipping action. Just as Lou suggested. You will heard the blipped engine sound when the action has resynced. Then just start using the JS blip switch again as before. OlPaint01
  2. HPW FM 2.0 is now available!

@Hasse Wind Elephant has suggested that we start a new campaign then activate the FM. "1. Start a new Campaign. 2. Exit the first mission without actually flying it. 3. Exit game and Enable the mod. 4. Restart the Campaign and Replay the last mission." Panama_Red has suggested another way... "Basically, in order to use this mod and also to see all of the ace skins available in the game, first activate the FM mod and start the game. Begin your campaign as usual, but instead of flying your mission, click on end mission as soon as you find yourself on the field. Exit completely out of the game and then restart your campaign. Then, on the campaign screen, click "Replay Mission." This will take you back to the beginning of your mission but with the advantage of allowing you to see all of the fantastic skins which have been lovingly created by members of the OBD team and by many others for use with this wonderful simulation of WWI aerial combat." So I guess that we need to pin down a correct process with some experimentation. I personally have not been able to determine a guaranteed way to "have my cake and eat it too." I have tryed both ways but still cannot for certain decide which method works all the time. But of course HPW has gotten the word that "OBD has already assured us that this problem has been eliminated in the next version of Over Flanders Fields WOOF. Huzzah!" OlPaint01
  3. HPW FM 2.0 with Additional Planes Mod

@HPW Can I start to fly the new FM 2.0 without your future Empty Weight mod? OlPaint01
  4. Horrah!

I have always said, "Seven days without CombatACE OFF Forum makes one Weak!" LOL OlPaint01
  5. Spandau Fire Rate Mod?

Hey Folks Creaghorn's Spandau Rate of Fire mod was included in 'Creaghorns Homebrew' mod. Follow this link: http://combatace.com/files/file/10515-creaghorns-homebrew/ I also included it in my 'Grand Bundle Sounds Mods JSGME Enabled" pack. Follow this link: http://combatace.com/topic/72621-grand-bundle-sounds-mods-jsgme-enabled/ Hellshade uses the 'Creaghorn's Spandau Rate of Fire' mod among others mods by Creaghorn and Andy73 from my 'Grand Bundle' pack in this YouTube video: OlPaint01
  6. Setting Up a Blip Switch in OFF

Hey everyone, In the OP Lou asked, "Now then, if one of our OFF sound gurus could tell us how to disable the rotary engine 'idle down' sound it would be the cat's pajamas." Well Andy73 has done just that!! I asked him, while CA was down for the count, if he could build a track to simulate the Blip Switch engine sounds with his editor tools. He took the low rpm tracks and the shutdown tracks and made new shutdown tracks for the LeRhone and the Gnome engines. I have tested them for several days and can report that they seem to be a pretty darn good representation of what I would expect the sounds should be. Maybe we can persuade Andy73 to publish an update of his Aircraft Sounds Mod. OlPaint01
  7. Where have I heard TWO WEEKS before? LOL OlPaint01
  8. Setting Up a Blip Switch in OFF

RAF_Louvert said, "Now then, if one of our OFF sound gurus could tell us how to disable the rotary engine 'idle down' sound it would be the cat's pajamas." @Andy73 Your 'Aircraft Sounds Mod' ReadMe.txt mentions that the DH-2 engine sounds are actually configured from the Nieuport 17_Sqd sounds files. My research shows that the 'idle down' sound that RAF_Louvert mentions is actually from "OFF_LeRhone_xshutdown.wav" file in the 'C:\OBDSoftware\CFSWW1 Over Flanders Fields\aircraft\Nieuport 17_Sqd\sound' folder. With your knowledge and your expertise for producing marvelous modified sound files for OFF, might it be possible for you to create for us a "Blipped Engine - Idle Down" WAV file to replace the default "...xshutdown.wav". One that might include just the sound of a whirling rotary engine with no cylinders firing. The default "...xshutdown.wav" has the loud and overwelming mechanical sounds of a shut-off and spinning-down rotary engine that actually comes to a stop. I found this video on YouTube by HAFUVideo of "Sopwith Camel Rotary Engine Rock 'n' Roll" that IMHO would be the appropriate alternate sound for a blipped idle down rotary engine: I myself do not have the tools required to capture and edit a sound track into an appropriate WAV file. I thought you might consider building one for us. Maybe it would consist of several seconds of "Blipped Engine" sound (as described above) tacked onto the front end of the default '...xshutdown.wav' "Idle Down" sound with an appropriate volume adjustment. This sound file would simulate a pilot holding the Blip_Switch down for short bursts with the accompanying "Blipped Engine" sound. But if he holds down the Blip_Switch for too long, for more than several seconds, he will actually kill the engine with the accompanying "Idling Down" sound. Just a thought... I have already put together the JS button 'Press/Release' macro that RAF_Louvert previously described using the Saitek ProfileEditor. All I need now is an appropriate WAV file to play in responce to the Blip_Switch button action. OlPaint01

What a beautiful Dolphin!!! And, Oh My, what fire power. OlPaint01
  10. @Olham Very interesting. I show the identical listing of skins in my install OFF:HitR V1.47 that you show. Can we fix the situation easily. Maybe Shredward can publish an update with the missing skins. OlPaint01
  11. Hello M8s I am currently working on another great bundle of OFF Mods. This time the bundle is of JSGME enabled realism mods for combat conditions that have been released so far. The Great Bundle would include Herr Prop-Wasche's Weather and Sky Mods, Buddy1998's modified Missions Mod from Bletchley's files (using the set that is without the Lone Wolf missions) and Bletchley's AA Mod. My goal is to be able to pick a month in the JSGME console so that I might activate only the appropreate realism mod files for that particular date at one time. This would ease the task a little bit of managing the combat conditions as the War progresses. I will be needing permissions to publish this Great Bundle of Realism Mods JSGME Enabled for other folk to download. @Bletchley and @Buddy1998 I am unable to PM to you guys. OlPaint01
  12. Well Folks, I successfully uploaded the Realism Mods bundle to CA Download Section. I finally discovered that only the Chrome browser worked for me to make the transfer. So here is the link http://combatace.com/topic/72623-great-bundle-realism-mods-jsgme-enabled/page__pid__571647#entry571647 Enjoy. Olpaint01
  13. File Name: Great Bundle Realism Mods JSGME Enabled File Submitter: OlPaint01 File Submitted: 10 May 2012 File Updated: 16 June 2012 File Category: Modding Tools and Add-on Software Here are the file for the Great Bundle of JSGME-Enabled OFF Realism Mods that I have prepared. I have tested all of these on my rig. I installed JSGME into C:\OBDSoftware directory. I copied each of the Realism Mod folders into the MOD directory. If I want to fly sorties during April 1916 in an Active Sector, I would activate the Realism Mods in the following manner: I will (1) Activate the 'HPW Skies' Mod (this will only need to be activated just once), then (2) Activate the 'HPW Weather 1916' Mod, then (3a) Activate the 'Buddy1998 Missions 1916 1 ActiveSector Jan-Jun' Mod (for sorties without Lone Wolf missions), OR (3b) Activate the 'Bletchley Missions 1916 1 ActiveSector Jan-Jun' Mod (for sorties with Lone Wolf missions), then (4) Activate the '33Lima FlakMod 1916 1 Jan-Jun'Mod, then (5) Activate the 'Bletchley AA 1916 1 Jan-Apr' Mod. We are now ready to fly OFF during April 1916. If I want to change the date to May 1916 for an Active Sector: I would just (1) Deactivate the 'Bletchley AA 1916 1 Jan-Apr' Mod, then (2) Activate the 'Bletchley AA 1916 2 May-Jun' mod. We are now ready to fly OFF during May 1916. A huge thank you to Bletchley, 33Lima, Buddy1998, Herr Prop-Wasche for the Realism Mods. And of course thanks to OBDSoftware for the 'Over Flanders Fields:Hat in the Ring' WW1 Combat Flight Sim. OlPaint01 Click here to download this file

Here are the files for the Grand Bundle of JSGME-Enabled OFF Sound Mods from Creaghorn, Elephant, and Andy73 that I have prepared. I installed JSGME into C:\OBDSoftware directory. I copied each of the Sounds Mod folders into the MODS directory. I activated all of Creaghorn’s Sound Mods from the JSGME console in the order that they were published to guarantee that I had installed the latest versions of the WAV files. Activate each Creaghorn Sounds Mod in the following order: 1) Creaghorn Homebrew Sounds 2) Creaghorn Sound Tweak 3) Creaghorn Sound Tweak II 4) Creaghorn Sound Tweak II Patch Then activate all of Andy73’s Sound Mods from the JSGME console in the order that they were published. 5) Andy73 Aircraft Sounds 6) Andy73 Engine Sounds_1.1 for Sound Tweak II 7) Andy73 Gun Sounds_1.1 for Sound Tweak II 8) Andy73 Albatros DIII Sounds 9) Andy73 Rotary Aircraft Sounds_1.3a Then activate the Spandau Mod last so the gun sound fix is not overwritten. 10) Creaghorn Spandau Mod The ShellMusic can be activate anytime. 11) Creaghorn StartupBritish OR Creaghorn StartupGerman OR Elephant StartupG (the choice depends on which side you are flying) Disregard warning messages that files are about to be overwritten. 17. MAW Effects

I dipped my toes into MP with Boys of 60 with PilotsDen and the boys for about a month several years ago, back when I was going to school. MP turned out not to be my bag. And I had trouble scheduling the session times, so I gave it up. I am sending you my addie now. Thanks a heap for the MAW help. OlPaint01
  18. MAW Effects

@Flyby Yes indeed, I would sure appreciate the 'Handy' MAW installer files you reference. I have had other things keeping me busy at the moment then to spend the necessary head time to sort things out. But I love the idea of taking MAW effects and slipping them into OFF. It really expands the whole experience. Collaboration with MAW devs and the MAW community sure makes sense to me. BTW, does anyone know the status and whereabouts of the "Boys of 60". And where is StumpJumper when you need his sage advice? OlPaint01
  19. New Sounds for you...

OOPS. I think I figured out the issue with downloads from the EmailLargeFiles transfer service I am using. The Link that I just post here in the forum is good for only one download - only one!. Dooh! I have been sending the link information and password to myself and copying that unique link to the forum posted link. Once the first 'anyone' grabs the file with that posted link it is essentially locked out to any further downloads. So, the transfer service site requires that I send the download link out to individual email addresses. I am guessing that is what makes the download accounting on the transfer service work for record keeping. So, until I figure out how to get authorized to upload to CA Download Section, Please send me a PM with your email addie and I will link you to both the Sound Bundle and the Realism Bundle downloads. 21. Hello M8s Try this new link: Please follow the link below to access the files in the package. https://b2.emaillargefile.net:441/s/2SR5Z6Z0NKS1N The Great Bundle includes Herr Prop-Wasche's Weather and Sky Mods, Bletchley's Missions Mod, Buddy1998's modified Missions Mod from Bletchley's files (using the set that is without the Lone Wolf missions) and Bletchley's AA Mod for OBDSoftware Over Flander... Package password: abc123 ----------- I wish I could post my bundles on CA Download Section. It would make things so much more easier. I keep getting a message that I am not authorized. Rats!!! OlPaint01
  22. @HPW Roger that!!! The next version of Great Bundle OFF Realism Mod JSGME Enable will include Bletchley's latest version of his single Weather1915 file combined with the set of Weather1916-1918 active and quiet sector files inside your Weather Mod. I will accomplish this by moving the weather sub-folder out of Bletchley's Missions Mod, and moving it to your Weather Mod, thus preventing an activation of a conflicting Weather1915 file when your Weather Mod is activated. Clear as Mud, aye what? @RAF_Louvert I have not getting any Joy with the CombatAce Download Section upload portal. I am getting error message that I am not authorized. CA helpdesk has not responded to my trouble ticket. OlPaint01
  23. @Bletchley Thanks for your permissions. I am working HPW to get the lastest versions of OFFHistoricalWeather19xx.txt files documented and included for the next release of 'Great Bundle OFF Realism_JSGME enabled' package. I plan to move your OFFHistoricalWeather1915.txt over into his Weather Mod. So when your Mission Mod date/sector files are activated there will be no conflict with his Weather Mod date/sector activated files. In other words, the Mission Mods will have all the MissionType files and Weather Mod will have all the Weather files. And I also want to confirm compatability with HPW Skies Mod. Here is my directory/folder schema document for the OFF Realism Bundle: Great Bundle OFF Realism - Schema.doc OlPaint01
  24. @HPW OK, to be perfectly correct, I should take Bletchley's OFFHistoricalWeather1915.txt and combine it with your OFFHistoricalWeather1916, ...1917, and ...1918 files to make a Grand Corrected Weather files collection. OTOH, should we just use your set of corrected 1915-1918 Weather files and be done with it. Since your files completely support your Skies Mod. Just asking your opinion...Of course...Bletchley would have to agree to remove his own Weather1915 portion from his Missions Mod. Then the combination of Mods would be very easy to manage, IMHO. OlPaint01
  25. @HPW So if I read you correctly, I should firstly pick the properly dated Mission Mod file from either Bletchley's or Buddy1998's collections to activate in JSGME, depending on whether I want Lone Wolf patrols or not, that correspond to the OFF Campaign date for either active or quiet sector. Then secondly activate your Skies Mod and finally activate your Weather Mod. This would guarantee that your improved (corrected) OFFHistoricalWeather19xx.txt files don't get overwritten. BTW, did you notice that Bletchley used a modified OFFHistoricalWeather1915.txt file only for his own 1915 active and quiet missions but not in any other of his dated mission files. Curious, what? I am just speculating that Bletch might not have discovered the errors in the default OFFHistoricalWeather19xx.txt files that you found and corrected. Also, this is no criticism on my part, but an observation - he seems to use a little more complete explaination in the comment fields for the descriptions of each dated weather period than you were with your descriptions. IMHO, this is very good for immersion effect. I would love to edit Bletchley's comments into your OFFHistoricalWeather19xx.txt files. @Bletchley Would it be alright to edit out your OFFHistoricalWeather1915.txt file from the 1915 active and quiet missions files of your Missions Mod and apply only HPW's 'Corrected' OFFHistoricalWeather19xx.txt files that activate when his Weather Mod is selected from inside the JSGME console? This would sure simplify managing the Realism Mods Bundle immensely. OlPaint01
