SF2 B-57B Canberra Ini, Skin & Decal Update Pak
Wrench posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
View File SF2 B-57B Canberra Ini, Skin & Decal Update Pak SF2 B-57B Canberra Ini, Skin & Decal Update Pak 11/30/2023 = For SF2, Any and All = * Full-5 Merged reccomended, but can be used in any game with access to the STOCK B-57B & F-4C_67 * ** Designed to REPLACE in total, any earlier mod packages of this type ** Some ini mods for the stock 3W B-57B that add a usable cockpit (albeit not perfect!, but VERY usable & functional), new avioncs ini, and adds the Nuclear Delivery Capability (tm) they had from inception. All this will make the aircraft Player Flyable (tm). Be advised, your game install MUST have access to the stock F-4C_67, as that cockpit is used in this mod. See "Notes" for more Whys. This mod includes a new skin, for the 499th BS, 345th BG with historical serial & Buzz Numbers for 24 aircraft. It should be noted, while correct for the 345th, I was unable to locate serials specifically for the 499th. The "Bat Out of Hell" nose art IS fictious, but historical as used on their B-25s during WW2 in the Pacific. I just thought it looked cool!. Also included (as seen in the SF2 CA Forum) is a new skin for the wing tip drop tanks as used on the Natural Metal Finish (NMF) skin. As of now, it's set up ONLY for the USAF NMF skin, but is easily used on any other NMFs. See "Notes" below are more instructions. The USAF NMF skin also gets 24 correct serial & buzz number decals, but they are 'generic' in nature, representing no specific unit. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. Please read them! You may with to unzip this archive FIRST before installing, to read all the crazed instructions. Also, please read the Notes section for more expositions on WHY I chose the cockpit I did. Happy Landings! Wrench Kevin Stein Submitter Wrench Submitted 12/08/2023 Category B-57 -

SF2 WW2 Focke Wulf FW-190A-8 Pak -- Something for the WW2 ETO players -- = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged ( Full-5 Reccomended/Preferred) = *There is a possibility that this mod may work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs. However due to the excessive modifications made to fit into the SF2 environment, not all features will be avaliable.* *Note X2: this mod is designed for use =ONLY= in the ETO envrionment. Specific versions for use in the MTO will be released seperatly, if required* Mods, rebuilds, reskining/redecaling for Wolf's FW-190. This is the next of a series of FW-190 upgrades, that will cover those models (while still based off Wolf's original LOD), that were/are available from the 1stGen SF/Wo* mods previously released. With required upgrades for SF2. This mod is designed to REPLACE any 1stGen variant you may have in your WW2 ETO intalls. It is reccomended you delete the aircraft and decals folders of the originals, as to NOT cause any conflicts with THIS mod. This package contains 2 variants of the FW-198A8 as deployed in Western Europe. Skins/Decals in this pak are: Fw-190A8R2: 3/JG1 JG300 (early, "Wilde Sau" night camo) JG300 (Late, splinter/mottle with blue/white/blue Riech Defense Band) Fw-190A8R8 "Strumbock": 11/JG3 (from 1944 thru war's end) All Skins are in jpg format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. A (semi) compliant SF2 FM was cobbled together from various sources. As always, while it works quite well, further fine tuning is required by Experten. Sounds, pilot figures and weapons are included, as well a new SF2 version of my "box art" Hangar and/or Loading screens. Please note, the engine sound in this one has been changed to the AVHistory BMW 801 sound. It's reccomeneded you make this change to the FW-190A-1 that was recently released. It's a VERY simple text edit. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Also, the "Notes" section for other important stuff of interest. When discoverable, all original readmes are included for historical purposes. *Due to the age of the physical model (LOD), this mod is being released "as is"; PLEASE see the Notes section for more info* Dedicated to the memory of Bob "howling1" Hauser; a dedicated WW2 modder if there ever was one! Happy Hunting! wrench kevin stein -

JimBib: do you have Russo' Cessna T-50 on floats, and the Catalina. Russ did a Kamov 27 helo, standard and "folded" but it sinks into the ground, so not really usable -

Don't forget the static WW2 birds, and the helicopters (we could use some more Red Choppers, as all we got is the Mi-8) Is that a Caravelle & Comet I spy?? -
This is one of those "Oh WOW" stories. If you haven't read it, DO SO!!

Yup, because, again, in SEA that space was used for fuel. Which it desperately needed on every mission -

No. TK don't have one. It used for fuel storage. Nor does ArmorDave's Thuds. If you want a nuke, use the centerline external hardpoint -
View File SF2 B-25J Mitchell "Night Intruder" Gunship (KAW What-If) SF2 B-25J Mitchell "Night Intruder" Gunship (KAW What-If) 4/19/2021 -For SF2 =ONLY= (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended) ** Found in the Archives; as you can tell by the date above!!! ** This is a 'What If...' mod of Veltro2k's B-25J Gunship that might have been used during the Korean War. This goes on the presumption that the (A)B-26 Invader either was not available or present in enough numbers. The skin represents a reactivated 499th Bomb Squadron of the 345th Bomb Group. The aircraft is finished in overall night black (like the A-26 and later B-57s). This is the solid gun-nosed Mitchell, with the addition of a wing mounted AN/APS-4 radar unit (just like the USN's PBJs). 24 aircraft serials and Buzz Numbers are provided, as is the "Bat Out of Hell" nose markings. All markings are decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. Weapons (WW2 bombs & rockets), sounds, pilot figures are all provided. As is always reccommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE read them, before installing!!! Happy Landings! WIP Mega THREAD!
Wrench replied to ErikGen's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Good one Ant!! OTH, there are a number of mods for the EE Canberras and B-57s that have correct serials. Since it's originally AI only, is probably why TK used the F-100 serials, and no buzz numbers. Conversely, that doesn't explain the "proper-ish" bort numbers for the MiGs and SUs that are also AI only. -
is the gun camera part of the gunsight? I'm wondering at the field of view as seen. If not part of the sight, why is the reticle showing? I know WW2 gun camera footage is usually just the target and bullet strikes

finally fixed something that's be bugging the crap out of me for 20 years .... proper serial decals* for the stock NMF B-57B, and an NMF skinned tip tank. Also replaced the idiotic 2-piece "U.S.Air Force" decal with a single one. Be available soon!!! (less than 2 weeks!!) (*=I mean seriously, HOW hard is it to make 24 correct serial and buzz number decals????) -
