  1. yeah, that IS a bit odd, isn't it?? Note the van is sitting normally!!
  2. since i'm on a trend of updating my Sabre packs with corrected hit boxes and stuff, I was wondering if it would be ok with all you if I had a go at your Canadair Sabres, too? Basicly, rebuilding the FM to match the E types (and my Mk. 4 & Mk.6), correcting the hit boxes and such. also, would it be ok if I used you CL13B "widgets" on my 2 birds? (that is a NEAT little item!) Might want to borrow the ejection seat too.. I just wanted to ask! thanks!
  3. excellent! that 's what I needed. what I'd thought of doing, and rejected due to the possibility of fouling up campaigns like in NATO Fighters, was combining the Early and Late aircraft into one package, converting the skins to jpg, and using the SF2 "date switch" to turn them on when the change occurs. There's no (real) differences between the 2 aircraft, just the skins. When Sidewinders are added, that could/can be done wtih a "year & country specific loadout statement' in the loadout ini. But, I really don't want to add more (re)work to the campaign guys! So, it'll stay at 2 aircraft, the early ending in 62, and the late starting in 62! many thanks!
  4. i'm not a all understanding what is trying to be accomplished here... if you're simply swapping out the seats (like say, replacing the stock one with ravenclaw's Martin-Baker) that's a simple text edit of the data ini. if you're trying to activate the RIO position, the cockpit has to have been built that way from the start in MAX. AFAIK, you can't do it with ini edits. Aren't there already hi-res cockpit repaints? Check the SF1 downloads sections for those -- but all may not work in SF2 for all the available Rhino versions. I absolutely would NOT use "open cockpit" setting on this bird. Just LOOK at the airframe, and how relation of where the pilot/rio sit. If you're trying to hide a node, you can also do so from inside the cockpit ini, depending on position -- which as I see them from the above screenies, is WAY off (and don't use the shift/f5 view to check things, that's all sorts for screwed up, as it sits >1 meter above the aircraft) A lot more clarity on what is being attempted is required here!
  5. ok, another question, pertaining to the GAF "Late" version, the camo one. When did they change occur, from NM to camo? Both the late and early mods use the same operational year ranges (1957 - 1966), and that can't be quite right? I know they were delivered and used in the NM, then where repainted. But what year? None of my source books say anything about that.
  6. that's been bothering me too, for awhile (have some drydocks on other terrains). I just left mine flooded.... the only answer I've come up with is "need a ship model that the world center is the keel, not the waterline"
  7. although, you should ask them directly
  8. yes, but the rotary bay is set as a pylon, which is why I ALWAYS had something loaded on it. When unloaded, like any other pylon it will disappear. (like it's younger brother, the B-57, the entire assembly, preloaded, is "clipped" in.) In the movie, as i recall, it was an F-100C chase plane. Looking for wrinkles in the wing, are we???

  13. look like a combination between the Q-5 and Su-17. I think it kinda cool!!
  14. I'll do my best! thanks RC!! what cracks me up with this whole thing with the hit boxes and such, is we simply NEVER knew how far off they were, and that the 2 outer wing sections* have been named incorrectly in the data inis since like forever!!! below are the boxes, corrected and in their original state.. pretty weird, huh?? * = Right_Wing_Outer --> RightOuterWing Left_Wing_Outer ---> LeftOuterWing with the node names wrong, no box appears!! we must constantly thank Mue for his lod viewer tool!!!

In other words, like Parts 1 & 2, this is a European-centric skin/decals package only!! In this package are skins for Sabres from the 21st FBW, USAFE, in the mid-1950s ... 72nd FDS (Red 416th FBS (Med. Blue) 531st FBS (Yellow) Almost all markings are decals, however the squadron nose & tail markings (colors & stars) are painted on. A fake "SqTail" decal is used to activate the Squadron Displayed Name on the Loadout Screen (these are stock units, listed in the game's SquadronList.ini). All skins use a "pool" of serial Serial and buzz numbers; while these should be considered 'generic' in nature, are for the variant depicted. Decal randomization is TRUE. All skins are in jpg format. 22. Ah! my house! I see the central island is bulging from the magma dome.... when it goes off again, I want to be there to see it!!! (can you say "vaporized"? I knew you could! LOL!!)
  23. yes, the windscreen had a kind of "V" shape to it, which unfortunately, the external model is lacking. But the view out from the pit is pretty correct. The E and later had the single piece flat panel, as seen in the new cockpit, and all the external views of the aircraft. in the image below, you can (just barely) make out the shape of the 2-piece windscreen
  24. File Name: SF2:E F-86A Sabre, USAFE, Pack File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 11 February 2016 File Category: F-86 SF2:E F-86A Sabre, USAFE, Pack 2/11/16 -- For SF-2E, FULL-5 merged, Reccomended -- This mod is a full aircraft package, containing the F-86A Sabre as used by the USAFE during the early-to mid 1950s. This pack contains only those aircraft as used in Europe. Like the KAW Sabre pak (albeit this containing only 1 airplane), all needed bits (Effects, Sounds, Pilot, etc) are included. Again, as a reminder, this is a European-centric aircraft package only (SF2:E)!! In this package are F-86A Sabres from the 81st FIW, USAFE, as based in the UK ... 116th FIS 91st FIS 92nd FIS Almost all markings are decals, with the exceptions of the tail fin color bands. A "fake SqTail" decal is included and will activate the Squadron Displayed Name on the Loadout Screen for those units listed in the game's SquadronList.ini (91st & 92nd). The 116th is not, but if you wish to add it, feel free to do so. Decal randomization is TRUE. All skins are in jpg format. 24 Serials and Buzz Numbers are included for all 3 skins, and are accuate for A Model Sabres, but just not for the squadrons represented. Consider them 'generic' for this purpose. The Hangar & Loading screen remain their "KAW" versions. The Data and Loadout ini have been tweeked as per the recently released F-86F-40 USAFE pak, and Ground Attack (CAS, Strike) mission tasking has been activated. Operational service dates remain the same, even though the F-86A did not arrive in the UK before 1951. REMINDER -- the mission tasking and loadouts are =ONLY= for use by American Sabres (this version) as used in the SF2:E mods folder!!! Don't use it anywhere else! See "Notes" for more information, if wishing to use the modified data ini in your KAW mods folder. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them! Also, as this mod pack is specificly designed for an SF2:E (Europe) install, PLEASE read the "Notes" section for important information. as has been said before, and we'll keep repeating it till the point is made: NO FIRST GENERATION GAME (FE/FEG/SF/Wo*) CAN SEE A LOD THAT IS EXPORTED FROM A MODERN VERSION OF MAX -- THESE LODS ARE IN UNICODE. ONLY THE 2nd SERIES (SF2/FE2) CAN READ THE UNICODE LODS. What format the inis are in is of no consequence. Your descriptions fits exactly the what happens when one tries to do so -- seeing (or NOT seeing) the external model. There is only one cure - evolve to FE2/SF2.
