Cannot launch or drop some of weapons
Wrench replied to wiki's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
for some inexcusable reason, the PDF for the manual has been left out of ALL the SF2 series. So, wiki...you might want to review it at the link below http://www.thirdwire.com/man/sf2/Strike_Fighters_2.htm -
in answer to your PM (which got deleted!), it only reads ANSI. need to convert from Unicode, but I guess you figured that out?? wrench

What aircraft, in particular?? Stock or add ons? If addons, whose? a butt-load of 1stGens ported over have the issue. I've been told it might be due to the wheel's axle center being "off" in MAX (meaning: SF2 reads it completely differently than SF1) sometimes can be fixed by fiddling the shock statements and (rarely) the rolling radius -or combinations thereof. it can be bloody nightmare to run down, I'm here to tell!! -

"we're going to hit them where it REALLY hurts!" -
from the ww2 terrains (EAWEuro I know for sure, and my Midwest USA "modern" terrain) there's also a 'Pullman car' and 'box cars' available (the Pullman car is just the box car repainted/hex edited to create a new object)

Post war F-38?

1 (and ONLY one) photograph was discovered after 2 hours of searching the net and my multitude of books heaven forbid that folks use that fantabulos decal system TK gave us, huh? The reason decals have to be used on Wolfs, is the mapping is, well to be polite, not as good as it could be. Other than it's lack of 'moveable parts', Wolf's hold up pretty well for a 2004 model. we REALLY do need new (completely!!! Freeware) Lightnings... -

awful lot of work to rewire the aircraft for them crappy Firestreaks. Methink the MOD would keep them "as built" with the (equally crappy!) 9B 'winders. Save the British citizenry some tax dollars er, pounds also saves screwing around with loadouts and data ini (weght differences and all). like the NM skin! -
Rolling Thunder (A) - Mission 02
Wrench replied to beachav8r's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
nice report to answer the question, don't they just have the ONE skin, with everything painted on (ie: no Modex decals)?? -
considering the (almost) complete and utter lack of insulation and sound-deadening inside a Fortress...yeah!! also, taking into account the direction of rotation of the Cyclones...WHERE did the prop go???, Especially from #2 engine!

your buzz number prefix is FA. where it goes....???? I'd guess aft of the radiators? Star would go forward of radiators, like WW2 markings lets see, why would we NOT want to keep them in the inventory.... twice as maintenance intensive as the Mustang twice as vulnerable to combat damage as the Mustang (and more so, when compared to the D/N Jugs) performance equaled/excelled (range, payload, etc) by Mustang and late-mark Jugs... Jets EDIT: forgot the most important reason: The Budget a "good number" of F-5s were used post-war by Allied nations (Italy, France, ROC) probably until the late 40s. I know the AdA and AMI phased them out sometime in 46-ish. ------------------------------- of course, use the DAT one; when 50% (or more) of CA users that might want it, can't get it. better off sticking with the 3w Mustang, and Russ's N-Jug -
excelleant Gepard!!! that's answers some issues I'd had some years back with them. Now we Know!! That now allows me (or another) to "fill in the blanks" for service/support structures, barracks, and the like that's a NEAT trick, if I do say so myself!! Oddly, that's exactly opposite of how TK did it, with the runway lod first, allowing for rotation in any direction, and dragging all the other objects along with it!

Trouble installing A6
Wrench replied to donk05's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
wrong lod ... don't work right in SF2, as ALL the aircraft have been remapped from WoV, and are in Unicode now (not that that makes much difference) you'll need SF2NA for the Intruders. -
because they're built of "pieces parts" and not one continuous lod, like the stock airfields. Ignore the heading numbers -- they mean nothing. It's a pity we can't get the MAX files, and fuse them into a proper, one piece lod. As to lack of "support structures", well... lets just say it wasn't in the original creator's mind to make it look like people would actually live and work on a base. The orientation of the main lod (runway) is what sets the orientation direction for the entire airbase -- EVERYTHING that surrounds that 0/0 point is set (both offset and direction) by the N/S orientation of the runway lod. Difficulties WILL arise placing 'support structures" with these due to the lack of a "pure 0/0 point" and proper orientation. It can be done (as I've done it), but it's a bitch and a half, and the end result just don't look quite right. I'd also ditch those "GFD12s" and use the shelters from the Airfield Dev Kits. No only are they better looking, but you can put things inside them (if one can figure out the parking offsets) -which I have around here SOMEWHERES....

Wrench replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
oh, for fraaks sake... that prototype is what became the P-80 -
nope, they work just fine (as I removed them from the Formosa terrain, and returned it to 'stock bases' a couple of years ago for a small targets upgrade) all items entered into the terrain's _types ini items in _types ini have correct, sequential numbering all items placed WITHIN the desired terrain folder an airbase selected for replacement, from both lists, the "new" one's target area copy/pasted into the terrains _targets.ini test mission created to fly over "new" base adjust orientation as necessary (iirc, these are 90 deg OFF stock orientations)
