  1. SF2 WW2 ETO B-26B/G Marauder Pak

    Version 2.0

    410 downloads

SF2 WW2 ETO B-26B/G Marauder Pak -- Something for the WW2 ETO players -- = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = **Note: Having SF2I Expansion Pak 1 is HIGHLY reccomended, as the destroyed model referenced reach over to the stock destroyed C-47A. If you do =NOT= have Exp1, you will NOT have the burning wreck on the ground. You will have to locate some other destroyed model for use. Also, due to modifications to various inis, this mod will probably -NOT- work in 06 level 1stGen game installs. 08 Level 1stGens may have some issues, but this has not/cannot be tested by me.** This is a reissue of Veltro2K's B-26 Marauder Medium Bomber. It has been reskinned/redecaled and had some tweeking done. This mod ONLY represents Marauders used in the ETO. As they are (almost) identical aircraft, your in-game displayed name will read "B-26B/G Marauder" This units represented herein are... 449th BS, 322nd BG, circa 1942 upon initial arrival in the ETO (star/circle) in OD/Grey 449th BS, 322nd BG, cir3a 1943 til wars end, with 'star-and-bar' insignia, also in OD/Grey 494th BS, 344th BG, circa 1944 til wars end, in "Natual Metal" (withOUT OD uppers) All skins are in jpg format, and have been remade from a new Home Grown ™ 'partial template'. All new Squadron Codes, plane-in-group and serial number decals were created. The 449th serials ARE historically accurate (90-95%), matched when possible to call letter. The 494th serials are 'generic' in nature, but are actual B-26G serials. All markings are decals, making in easier for skinners to recrate other ETO (or even MTO) units. There are only 2 nose art decals, both on the 449th skins, one for the 1942 and one for the 1943. None of these skins carry D-Day Invasion Stripes. It should be noted, do =NOT= use this mod in a PTO-centric mods folder; the Pacific Marauders are different, and will covered in another, theatre-specific upload. Engine sounds, pilot figures, BRAND new Hangar and Loading screens (in SF2 jpg format) are include. Bombs and guns are not; you should have them already. A user list is included. Operational service dates are rounded to 'whole months'. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! PLEASE read the "Notes" section for the change list, and other important notations. Also, the Legal Statement has been changed with regards to this aircraft. For those that still have the original releases, it's advised you delete the aircraft and decals folders for them; this pak is desinged to replace them in total.. **These aircraft herein is released in "AS IS" Condition. The source files have been lost, and there can and WILL be no modifications to the physical model. It 'is they is' and you must accept them with this caveat in mind. Any and all issues/problems that cannot be solved via ini edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be created** Good Hunting!! 2. in particular, the small observation windows the 22nd added aren't there ... I could have painted them on, but couldn't quite get the location on the mapping correct as the 'Lod is actually the later B models, it dosen't have the shorter fin and wings. Same for the single 50 tail gun AND the 22nd mostly REMOVED the glass from the tail gunner position the carb intakes are still the larger B versions mostly, the differences are listed in the Notes section. But it's 'close enough' for government work!!!
  3. roh SWEEET!!!!! what I mean, is a specific image that tells the game engine 'heres water and here's land'... like below... red is water, black is land. and!!!... in SF2NA, there are 'zones' in to different greens that allow for aircraft carrier opertaions

SF2 WW2 PTO B-26 Marauder Pak -- Something for the WW2 PTO players -- = For SF2 ONLY, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = **Note: Having SF2I Expansion Pak 1 is HIGHLY reccomended, as a few of the destroyed models referenced reach over to the stock destroyed C-47A. This mod ONLY represents Marauders used in the PTO, specificly, in the SoWesPac region (read: New Guinea). It's "representative" of B-26A's used - see Notes below for more information. This unit represented herein is... 2nd BS, 22nd BG, circa March 1942 through 1943 (before star-and-bar), in OD/Grey (as operated from Australia and New Guinea) The skin are in jpg format, and have been remade from a new Home Grown ™ 'partial template'. All new, 100% historically accurate serial numbers were created for this squadron. There ARE nose arts for ths aircraf, but they are 'speculative' at best as I could find almost NO references what what they looked like (see Notes for more info). Decal randomization is set to TRUE. Like the ETO version, new DDS format damage textures are included. It should be noted, do =NOT= use this mod in a ETO or MTO-centric mods folder; these Pacific Marauders are different!!!! Engine sounds, pilot figures, a Brand NEW Theatre-specific Hangar screen (in SF2 jpg format) are included. Bombs and guns (and the Mk.13 torpedo!) are not; you should have them already. For those that still have the original releases (and tweeked them for PTO usage), it's advised you delete the aircraft and decals folders for them; this pak is desinged to replace them in total. **This aircraft herein are released in "AS IS" Condition. The source files have been lost, and there can and WILL be no modifications to the physical model. It 'is as they is' and you must accept it with this caveat in mind. Any and all issues/problems that cannot be solved via ini edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be created** Happy Landings!! wrench kevin stein
  5. i wonder if FE requires the terrain _water.bmp, that stated coming out with SF2I???? .... I can't see that I would. The terrain engine, i;m sure hasn't bee updated to that level, as the 'original' terrains don't have oceans.
  6. I don't think destryoed models can cast shadows. AFter all, they're supposed to be destoyed!!! the game-generated parked aircraft do, as they're just hte 'regular' lods placed on the terrain by the engine.
  7. like it said in the post where the pictures come from (and Fubar IDed) CFS the first post of the thread shows the VietnamSEA terrains ... COMPLETEY different looking. trust me ... I'm the Terrain Guru
  8. there's no blooody water on that map!!! (and yes, we've been fighting with ships on land since SF1 first came out!) for grins and giggles, try it on the ww1 palestine map; it already has shipping routes set up. the reason the wake is showing, is the "ShipWakeEffect" is still in the (whatever) cat TK built it from in SF. I've been getting that 'off in the lower corner bit' on the Ww2 New Guinea map too. Don't know what's causing it ... btw, the lower left corner of ALL terrains is the 000000,000000 point I LIKE that floatplane!!! edit: looking that flanders planning map (I have new ones from gerwin's tfd tool, btw), you may have to 'bend the route arund the land. unless its a straight shot, like dover to calis, you may need more than 2 'waypoints' easiest way to plot, is use the WoVsqmd, and plot by hand. I have one set up for FE2, and have attached it. just unzip, and drop the FE2Sqmd folder into your Fe2 mods folder. Click the exe, navaigate to the terrain folder and ONLY use the #1 planning map (the smallest). YOu can zoom in quite a bit. It's what I use to plot movement route (most of the time!) also, here's an apporx position for Dover; maybe try a cross channel --- but I set my end point at LEAST 2 tiles width off the coast lines Dover-- 68938,165954
  9. most of the destroyed models I'm using on the WW2 stuff originate from the old ww2 terrain mods. All they have is the lod, and skin (usually a bmp), and the skin I've repainted to all black; as it supposed to be smashed and bruning. I just have them residing the root of the /Objects/Aircraft folder. The individual aircraft data inis have the callout for what model to use (just like FE). [AircraftData] DestroyedModel=C-47A_Destroyed.LOD DestroyedEffect=VehicleFireEffect <<--depending on aircraft size, maybe MediumOilFire Never had to use an ini for them, other then listing the DM in a terrain _types ini for the parked static version of the planes destroyed counterpart. btw, it LOOKs really good!!
  10. aircraft marking have nothing to do with the question .. what terrain is it? I can say with 100% certaintiy ... it ain't the Phillipines terrain we have.
  11. no SF terrain I've ever seen... don't even look like our game... help to know the 'source' fo the images
  12. by playing on what we call "pussy mode" ... aka "Easy" ---------------- Stipe ... you actually might want to start READING the readmes that come with the aircraft downloads. Like 6 times you've asked the same question about pilots where they shouldn't be. It should ALL be covered in the included readme .. if not .. SOMEBODY is doing something wrong
  13. File Name: SF2 WW2 B-24J Liberator (Pasko), ETO Pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 23 February 2013 File Category: B-24 SF2 WW2 B-24J Liberator, ETO Pak = For SF2 (Full4/5 Merged RECCOMENDED!) ** Due to the extensive modifications to the cockpit and data ini, this mod will absolutely -NOT- work in 06 level 1stGen game installs. 08 Level 1stGens may have some issues, but this has not/cannot be tested by me. Also, having a merged install is reccomended, as the destroyed model references the stock 3W An-12** This pak contains Pasko's B-24J Liberator Heavy Bomber, with modifications to 'bring it a little closer" to SF2 spec. However, MUCH more work is needed by FM Gurus. To be honest, the FM is waaaaaaaay wonky!! As I always say, "let the AI handle it". The 8th AF units represented herein are: 705th BS, 448th BG in OD/Grey 68th BS, 44th BG in 'Natural Metal' All new skins, from a Home Grown Template ™ are in jpg format. New decals were created for serials, plane-in-group letters and others. The serials are 'generic' in nature, as they represent no particular unit, but ARE for the model variant depicted. Decal randomization is set to TRUE. There are NO nose arts. Weapons and guns are NOT included; you should have them already. All the 1stGen Hangar and Loading screens were either rebuilt to SF2-spec, or created new for this package. They are in jpg format. Damage textures are new, in DDS format. Flight modeling, for the most part, remains as originally issued, with some small tweeking by me. However, it NEEDS a better one!! Really, it DOES!! As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! PLEASE read the "Notes" section for the change list, and other important notations, in particular for in-game usage. For those that have the 1stGen releases, it's advised you delete, or move to a storage disk or elsewhere, the aircraft and decals folders for them; this pak is desinged to replace them in total. **These aircraft herein are released in "AS IS" Condition. There are SEVERAL issues with the LOD that cannot be resolved. Period. Any and all issues/problems that cannot be solved via ini edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be created** Happy Landings wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file

  15. the 3W games are absolutely NOT built for that ... considering most maps are ~ 1000 km x 1000 km ... and The Wall (as stated above) is 80km in from ALL MAP EDGES -- INCLUDING THE VERTICAL... makes it impossible to do so. like streak said, you need a game with continious world, not one with boundries (ala CFS or FS)
  16. that image of the layers/channels does us no good ... look at mine. Need to see the WHOLE tile, like in my image however, if you read my post that I linked to in the 1stGen KB, it explains HOW to add the alpha
  17. I really don't want to know about your goldmember... this IS a family site!!!
  18. yarp, just waiting for it to start degenerating, then BANG --
  19. what does the alpha channel look like, and do you have a matching _hm.bmp (height map) this is a "normal" alpha channel (albiet with different water bits) for the VietnamSG50 tile, from Stary's GH3,
  20. yes, but there's a girl behind every tree... (or is that Greenland????)
  21. you aren't the first to make that mistake, and definaty not the last!!! (yes, I've done it too!!!)
