Burma Terrain,I think the British took it with them on retreat.
Wrench replied to usafphantom2's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
I swapped mine over, even though the tiles are INSIDE my terrain folder. one day, I have to rebuild it as I really screwed mine up!!! you CERTAINLY can use the SF1 VitenamSEA cat in SF2 (or any other 1stGen terrain). The only thing you'll need to do is extract the terrains data ini, place in a new VietnamSEA terrain folder WITHIN the mods folder's /Terrains folder and edit the shader lines to match the SF2 versions. put the VietnamSEA.cat in with the other terrain cats in you 'core files' in the C:\Program Files (x86)\ThirdWire\Strike Fighters 2\Terrains folder if you've got trouble with that, PM me and I'll shoot you my data ini (of course, this assume you don't have SF2:V) -

What Freeware aircraft would you like to see?
Wrench replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
opps!! Totally forgot about the Doras!!! (or the 152) Mako, the A-26 invader (B & C versions) have alrady been released, the B in KAW and B & C for WW2 by me over the last couple of months. ck the downloads section albeit using Wolf's P-39 (as itself & 400), also in the d/l section. I should chk over Veltros, and see what I can do with it. the question is ... is Jessica Alba considered freeware??? -

should reference VietnamSEA.cat, as that's the tile set called for in the data ini, and the Burma.ini cat pointers... Radar Bomb Sight
Wrench replied to Skyviper's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
now, low alt laydowns, that's a slightly different matter.... that only takes some practice (and gunsight of some kind; and i'm totally LOUSEY at it!!! ) the 'norden bombsight' tweek for sf1 requires editing the cockpit ini, and irrc, the viewlist ini and some other stuff. I never got it work!!! (don't mean somebody else might get it works!). I'm lazy ... I'll give you bombers, but wont' fly them! (odd, that one of my Top 5 Favs is the B-17!) -

Radar Bomb Sight
Wrench replied to Skyviper's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
for all intents and purposes, the 'radar bombsight' (as used on B-47, 52, 58, etc) does not exist. Nor prolly will it ever, given the limitations of the avionics dlls. People have been asking for it since 2003! remember- the bombers are AI controlled, and when left alone, seem to do a 'bang up' job in hitting the target (goes for optical WW2-style as well) -
To be or not to be...

when done, it goes into the 'What If.." hangar (we have a WHOLE section just for those kind of things!) -

File Name: SF2 WW2 PTO B-24D 319th BS, 90th BG, SoWesPac Skin/Decals Pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 21 February 2013 File Category: B-24 SF2 WW2 B-24D 319th BS, 90th BG, SoWesPac Skin/Decals Pak -- Something for the PTO players -- = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = A new skin for the B-24D Liberator by pasko. This skin represents aircraft of the 319BS of the 90th BG "Jolly Rogers" in their early (late 42-mid 43-ish) livery as seen in New Guinea and the Southwest Pacific operations areas. It is designed for use on the recenly release SF2ish B-24D mod, available at the following url: http://combatace.com...or-eto-mto-pak/ The skin is brand new, from my Home Grown Template ™, and is in jpg format. New serial number decals were created; they should be considered 'generic' in nature, as they don't accurately represent the unit, but DO represent the correct model variant depicted. Decal randomization is set to TRUE. There are NO nose arts. As this skin IS Theatre specific to the Pacific regions, you'll have to do some editing after installing to the B-24D in your PTO-centric mods folder, and remove or rename the ETO/MTO skins. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. . Good Hunting! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file

SF2 WW2 B-24D Liberator, ETO-MTO Pak = For SF2 (Full4/5 Merged RECCOMENDED! ) ** Due to the extensive modifications to the cockpit and data ini, this mod will absolutely -NOT- work in 06 level 1stGen game installs. 08 Level 1stGens may have some issues, but this has not/cannot be tested by me. Also, having a merged install is reccomended, as the destroyed model references the stock 3W An-12** This pak contains Pasko's B-24D Liberator Heavy Bomber, with modifications to 'bring it a little closer" to SF2 spec. However, MUCH more work is needed by FM Gurus. The units represented herein are: 329th BS, 93rd BG, ETO, in OD/Grey as seen in England in the 42-43 time frame 514th BS, 376th BG, MTO, in Desert Pink/Grey. Both aircraft carry the 'round ball w/star', pre Sept 1943. The MTO skin uses the roundel outlined in yellow. All new skins, from a Home Grown Template are in jpg format. New decals were created for serials, plane-in-group letters and others. The serials are 'generic' in nature, as they represent no particular unit, but ARE for the model variant depicted. Decal randomization is set to TRUE. The orignal nose art decals from 2005 remain, but need replacements. Weapons and guns are NOT included; you should have them already. All the 1stGen Hangar and Loading screens were either rebuilt to SF2-spec, or created new for this package. They are in jpg format. Damage textures are new, in DDS format. The inis make use of the 'hide component' or the 'open cockpit' statements to make sure the cockpits are where they're supposed to be. This, unfortunately, prevents their use in SF/Wo* games at the 06 patch level, as stated above. Flight modeling, for the most part, remains as originally issued, with some small tweeking by me. However, it NEEDS a better one!! As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! PLEASE read the "Notes" section for the change list, and other important notations, in particular for in-game usage. For those that have the 1stGen releases, it's advised you delete, or move to a storage disk or elsewhere, the aircraft and decals folders for them; this pak is desinged to replace them in total. **These aircraft herein are released in "AS IS" Condition. There are SEVERAL issues with the LOD that cannot be resolved. Period. Any and all issues/problems that cannot be solved via ini edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be created** Happy Landings wrench kevin stein -

SF2 WW2 Focke Wulf P.II Jet Fighter by Timmy - A What If Luft '46 Mod -- Something for the WW2 ETO players -- = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged ( Full-5 Reccomended/Preferred) = *There is a possibility that this mod may work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs. However due to the excessive modifications made to fit into the SF2 environment, not all features will be avaliable.* *Note X2: this mod is designed for use =ONLY= in the ETO envrionment. A seperate skin for the MTO is included, but not 'activated' Mods, rebuilds, and general 'messing with' for Timmy's FW P.II jet fighter, to bring it more in line with SF2 useage. This mod is designed to REPLACE any 1stGen variant you may have in your WW2 ETO intalls. It is reccomended you delete the aircraft and decals folders of the originals, as to NOT cause any conflicts with THIS mod. This package represents P.II Project, as a production model called "Ta-173" (I couldn't think of anything else!) as deployed in Western Europe and the Med. Skins/Decals in this pak are: JG 1 Oesau JG 2 Richthofen JG27 Afrika, in a overall 'tan' desert camo (stored in a seperate folder inside the main aircraft folder called 'a-MTO skin'). It is suggested that this skin ONLY be used in an MTO-centric mods folder (it would look funny in western Europe!!) Skins are in their original bmp format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. New damage textures are included, in DDS format. A (semi) compliant SF2 FM was cobbled together from various sources. As always, while it works well enough, further fine tuning is required by Experten. Sounds, pilot figures and weapons (R4M rack) are included, as well a new SF2 Hangar and/or Loading screens, in jpg format. Mission tasking has been limited, due to the aircraft's rather short range. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! Timmy's original readme is included for historical purposes. Happy Hunting! wrench kevin stein *Note: this mod has been placed in the "What If..Hangar", as opposed to the WW2 Aircraft section, as the Real Life aircraft never left the drawing boards* -
