  1. it links via the skins. In fact, I've made use of that switch on severla mods (3rd party planes) you just need to keep the hangar screen the same name, and drop it into the appropriate skin folder
  2. File Name: SF2 WW2 Italian Aircraft Pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 03 February 2013 File Category: Italian Origin SF2 WW2 Italian Aircraft Pak = For SF2 (Full4/5 Merged RECCOMENDED!) - Something for your MTO-Centric Installs - **Note: Having SF2I Expansion Pak 1 is HIGHLY reccomended, as a few of the destroyed models referenced reach over to the stock destroyed C-47A. If you do NOT have Exp1, you will NOT have the burning wreck on the ground. You will have to locate some other destroyed model for use. Also, due to the extensive modifications to the cockpit and data ini, this mod will absolutely -NOT- work in 06 level 1stGen game installs. 08 Level 1stGens may have some issues, but this has not/cannot be tested by me.** This pak contains a reissue of Veltro2K's WW2 Italian Air Force (Regia Aeronautica) aircraft. These are the complete aircraft, with various/sundry changes. This pak contains: Fiat CR.42 "Falco" (will show in-game as "Fiat CR.42 Falco (V2K)" in game) Fiat BR.20 "Cicogna" Medium bomber Piaggio P.108 Heavy Bomber (no name appears to have been given to it) Sounds, weapons, guns are included. New SF-2 compliant Hangar and/or Loading screens were either converted or new builds for this pak. They are, for the most part the "box art" style. The Falco has as many 1stGen skins as I could find, and they've been incorporated into this pak. Most skins remain in their bmp format, but have been slightly resized. Decal randomization is set to TRUE. User lists have NOT been created; consider these non-exported, RA use only aircraft. See "Changes" in the Notes section for more details. When possible, the original release readmes have been included (LloydNB's Falco skins). As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! =PLEASE= read the "Notes" section for the change list, and other important notations. Also, the Legal Statement has been changed with regards to these aircraft. For those that still have the original releases, it's advised you delete the aircraft and decals folders for them; this pak is designed to replace them in total. **These aircraft herein are released in "AS IS" Condition. The source files have been lost, and there can and WILL be no modifications to the physical model. They 'are as they is' and you must accept them with this caveat in mind. Any and all issues/problems that cannot be solved via ini edits will exist forever, as new models are unlikely to be created** Happy Landings wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file
  3. yup, always at the latest level... warts and all
  4. oh, man!! That means I'll have to make new skins!!! I was gonna issue a 'remod' of the original...but I think I can wait a bit! Well, at least I can reuse all the decals!!!!
  5. need to make some new plane-in-group numbers for some of the French WW2 aircraft, and can't figure out what font it is!! Or is there a 'generic' style that was used in WW2? (i'd even though of reusing some of my LW numbers, but am afraid of getting bitch-slapped by our French members!! ) Ideas? link to fonts?? TIA!!
  6. I know! that's whats been driving me nuts!!!

SF2 WW2 RAF Bombers Pak = For SF2 (Full4/5 Merged RECCOMENDED! w/Expansion Pak 1) **Note: Having SF2I Expansion Pak 1 is HIGHLY reccomended, as a few of the destroyed models referenced reach over to the stock destroyed C-47A. If you do NOT have Exp1, you will NOT have the burning wreck on the ground. You will have to locate some other destroyed model for use. Also, due to the extensive modifications to the cockpit and data ini, this mod will absolutely -NOT- work in 06 level 1stGen game installs. 08 Level 1stGens may have some issues, but this has not/cannot be tested by me.** This pak contains a reissue of Veltro2K's RAF light, medium and heavy bombers used by the RAF during WW2. Unless otherwise notated, all are RAF Bomber Command squadrons. This (VERY LARGE!) pak contains the following aircraft/skin sets (the name in parenthesis is the actual skin folder name)... -Handley Page Halifax 10 Squadron (Hali) -Handley Page Hampden 49 Squadron (RAF) -Lockheed Hudson 224 Squadron (raf1) 48 Squadron, Coastal Command (CC) 459 Squadron, RAAF (MTO -desert camo) VBP-82, US Navy, NAS Argentia, Newfoundland (USN) -Short Stirling 7 Squadron (Stir) -Vickers Wellington 12 Squadron (12) Skins remain in bmp format, decal randomization is set to TRUE. Almost all the original decals have been replaced (squadron codes, aircraft ID letters, serials on some, etc) with new builds or repurposed units from my stock of RAF codes. Almost all markings ARE decals. There are no nose arts. Damage textures are in DDS format. Weapons (the RAF bomb set and the 303 gun) are included. All the 1stGen Hangar and Loading screens were either rebuilt to SF2-spec, or created new for this package. They are in jpg format. The various inis make use of the 'hide component' or the 'open cockpit' statements to make sure the cockpits are where they're supposed to be. This, unfortunately, prevents their use in SF/Wo* games at the 06 patch level, as stated above. Flight modeling, for the most part, remains as originally issued. *Note: includes any/all "tweeks paks" released after the original releases* See "Changes" in the Notes section for more details. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. PLEASE read them!!! PLEASE read the "Notes" section for the change list, and other important notations. 10. keep your shirt on; you'll get all the views you need when the aircraft is released, just like everyone else.
  11. IIRAF sure did have tankers... modified 707s. I've seen film footage of phantoms refueling from it. on one of the 'deep strikes' into western Iraq
  12. What about good war films in general?

http://wrench1smog.com/wrench7.html and incomplete list, at best
  13. Don't Forget the Transitions!!! and seriously, Google Earth is your friend...trust me on this
  14. if i may be so bold for snowy mountains, the "A" series tiles from GermanyCE, with necessary repainting, will work fine. I used modified versions of them to create the Andes on the Central america map. They are: GermanyJA1 GermanyJA2 GermanyJA25A GermanyJA50A GermanyJA75A The desert/mountain colors on the itles (and really hated those tiles -- they were missing some transitions that I make new) are about right. Check the sat photos in google earth btw, permission* IS granted for YOU to retile that map. just don't mess up my targeting ... it's 98.6% of the Real World *remember, mods to my terrains are by permisison only
  15. there was a question??? --- i've also got a working _water.bmp with US cv staion on it, too. just outside the 'permanent pack' ice limit (although sometimes is IN the ice...)
  16. Paulo: see Paki sabres. They're the E(M) versions. well, one of them is! (more or less!) Nice TuAF skin! --- Over the North Atlanic, off the shores of Iceland.. Your Navy At Work, Hunting down U-Boats
  17. File Name: SF2 WW2 SB2C-4 Helldiver Skins Pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 30 January 2013 File Category: SBD / TBD / TBF / SB2C SF2 WW2 SB2C-4 Helldiver Skins Pak -- Something for the PTO players -- = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) = Some new skins for Veltro2K's SB2C-4 Helldiver. Skin/Decal sets included in this pack are for... VB-19, USS Lexington (in 3-tone --actual aircraft were -3s. Close enough!) VB-82, USS Bennington VB-85, USS Shangri-La (both in Dark Gloss Navy Blue, post-Jan 1944) Skins are in jpg format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. They depict mid- and late war schemes. VB-82 & 85 carry the "G System" markings for their respective Air Groups, VB-19 does not. As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. It contains the Change List. Good Hunting! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file
  18. and it ONLY dose it when you have jpg skins??? tha'ts frakking weird!! try this... as usual, let the game rebuilt all the modern crap. Then, instead of deleting ALL the aircraft, leave one 'modern' player flyable, and one AI contorled. I did this in my WW2 mods folders, leving 1 A-4E and 1 MiG-17. So far, they haven't rebuilt themsleves (knocks wood) then, see if the jpg skin triggers it again ALso, try using the standard SF2E exe. As all the files automatically merge upon game installastion, EVERyTHING is available in ALL Mods folders, regardless of exe used
  19. you all should know by now that I never share anything!!! if some folks are interested, and have the basic image manipulation skills (and software!) the SF2 series screen templates are in the Tools/Utilities/Patchs Downloads for like the last 3 years....

  21. if you don't like it, delte it. It's that plane and simple. I will NOT go through the same bulls**t that we had with Tazkiller over the KAW Sabres. we work with what we have. There are NO other Sabre models available. Period it's no wonder modders are bailing on SF2...
  22. on my HD!! they're rather "generic" in nature (for each theatre)
