RDAF Camo, F-84G Thunderjet
Wrench posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: RDAF Camo, F-84G Thunderjet File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 23 September 2011 File Category: F-84 RDAF Camo SkinPak for F-84G Thunderjet =For SF2, Any and All (Full-4 Merged Reccomended/Preferred,etc) A simple reskin/redecaling for the recently released F-84G Upgrade Pak. This skin represent Euro-style camoflaged Thunderjets of the Royal Danish Air Force. They were painted such (as what little data seems available) during the later years of their service. The skin itself is a repainted/relined version of the 1stGen JRV (Yugoslavian AF) skin by Homer. I just retouched some bits to remove other bits! Full credit goes to him for the skin (wherever he may be). As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them!! Happy Landings! wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file -

Things related to the Anatolian Terrain
Wrench replied to PureBlue's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
there has to be a way to replicate the caldera ... even if custom tiles need to be made (look at the barrier islands I had to make for the Cuba OTC map) It's usually the cursed 'flatten airfield' that screws up the surrounding terrain. -

Wrench replied to ace888's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
since the Misti F-2A isn't a TMF product...might be a bit difficult for them to update it. IIRC, it was done by wpnsgt ages ago... There is an SF2 version already available (but you prolly knew that!!) -

A little "oppsy" fix -- when I splilt the rocket stations, I inadvertantly 'rematched' the 2 fus stations into one group copy/paste the data below DIRECTLY OVER the existing hardpoint station callouts: this will restore them back to their correct sequence sorry about that people!! -

how to change the planes for dogfight
Wrench replied to seiran's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
extract the 'instant action.ini' from MissionData.cat, put it into the /Flight folder, and edit each individual flight of aircraft to what you want, dependant on year availablity we been doing that for our WW2 installs since 2005!! -

The C uses standard HVARs, so they're a bit "off"*. But the C has 6 20mm guns...so that makes up for it For the D & J, why not just use the rockets I supplied?? Even the AI uses them (and sometimes even gets a hit) http://combatace.com/files/file/5539-f-89c-scorpion-57th-fis-skin-ini-update-pake/ http://combatace.com/files/file/5638-f-89d-scorpion-75th-fis-skin-ini-weapons-upgrade-pak/ http://combatace.com/files/file/5703-f-89h-scorpion/ http://combatace.com/files/file/5683-f-89j-late-scorpion/ *easily tweeked, as done to the mmhe-1, by adding a sustainer so they fly farther and straighter availabe for SF2 as a single pack of all aircraft and skins, see SF2 downloads/Aircraft -

AU-1 Rudder Offset
Wrench replied to RAVEN's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
if one want to know how that can go wrong, read up on the flight charastics of the CS-199s -- AFTER they lost all the DB-60* series engine, and used the He-111 Jumos --- since the Daimler s were inverted V12s, they turned the 'right way' (ie: opposite) for the fin offset. The Jumo's turned INTO the offset, causing all kinds of torque-steer related problems (the fledgling IDF lost quite a few that way) Wonder of the Buchon Ha-115 (?) as used in the movie Battle of Britan had the same issue, what with them using Merlins.... -
AU-1 Rudder Offset
Wrench replied to RAVEN's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
ok got it ... all the Corsairs have offset vert fins. It's to counteract engine torque; very common on high HP WW2 aircraft (on both sides of the line) in game shot from KAW top view is from Detail & Scale vol 2 on the Corsair it's supposed to be that way. Bpao really knew his stuff! The high level of details in his work is STILL amazing! -

screenie please? we're using it in KAW, and nobody's noticed or mentioned it (in fact, flys great in SF2 with the new FM) -

Russo said he'd look at down-converting the N to a D, but I think he might be starting fresh. Too many differences, iirc. Haven't heard any of any progress yet. And I've got a fairly workable SF2level FM for Wolf's D-25. The only problem are the 3 unmapped pylons. Once we get a decent physical model, decaling is cinch *forgot - got a fairly decent one for Russo's N as well.* definately could use more data in USAFE T-jets, either E or G!! The 3W F is pretty well convred, both with stock decals and ?? (paulo or carlo??) works too -
