  1. ah... yauh!! Something called "era and region specific installs". A highly reccomended thing to do --------- the elephant in the room that Fub's is trying to skirt, is that another member downloaded the Flatapus (Flanker) from the Insky site and got hit with a supremly nasty virus. this is the question he's asking == have you downloaded anything from them? Have you scanned -DEEP scan- for infections? Or are you installs just screwed up?? edit: looking at your screenie, your MAIN installs are all f***ed up .. they should be in the C:\Program Files (x86)\ThirdWire\Strike Fighters 2 this is WHERE they want to be .. and SHOULD be. If it were me, I'd delete EVERYTHING and start factory-fresh install the way it was designed to be
  2. the NEWEST, official 3rd Wire SF2 extractor should be here in the SF2/Utilities downloads. if not, it's at 3rd Wire site --- get it from either place, as you WILL be needing it (eventually! )
  3. don't know what pak you used, but this one: http://combatace.com/files/file/10987-paskos-su-9a9b-su-11-fishpots-for-sf2/ they're all manual animation keyed
  4. jeeezzz.... see pic below for an example of exes located in your C:\Program Files (x86)\ThirdWire\Strike Fighters 2 note that the dates of all additional exes (NOT the stock 3W one for main games and expansion paks) all match the date of the updated SF2.exe we can't make it any simpler than this...
  5. File Name: A-4B Skyhawk, VA-83 Rampagers (1958, ATG-201) File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 23 August 2011 File Category: A-4 VA-83 A-4B Skyhawk Skin/Decal Pak = For SF2 (Any and All, Full-4 Merged Prefered) = *Can be used in any install that has access to the A-4B* This skin pack reproduces A-4B Skyhawks of VA-83 "Rampagers" circa 1958, as seen aboard USS Essex (CVA-9) as part of ATG-201, during the Beirut Crisis of that timeframe, supporting the US Marines during the intervention. All new decals, 100% historcally correct for the serial (Bureau) numbers for those -B Scooters used by VA-83 during this time period. I was unable to match Modex to BuNum, but that's a small thing As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... Hence, the 'Full-4 Merged Prefered' warning label* This skin pack reproduces A-1H (AD-6) Skyraiders of VA-105 "Gunslingers" circa 1958, as seen aboard USS Essex (CVA-9) as part of ATG-201, during the Beirut Crisis of that timeframe, supporting the US Marines during the intervention. Can (or Should?) be applied to my Skyraider Upgrade Paks, available here at CombatAce. As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. 7. i'm just curious as to why aircraft (in particular the Su-9/11) have been switched BACK to that ineffecent and outdated 'autospeed' controlled canopy, when for the upgrade (availalbe seperatly in the D/L section) I fiddled them into manual animation keyed. Seems a step backwards, to me

  10. another Phantom (one of the Mytai skins converted for use on the B_67)
  11. run your shadows on HIGH, not unlimited. It's been a glitch for many, many, many manymanymany moons as for the aircraft, is the shadow itself turned on in the main ini???
  12. did you use the 'tree2.tga' from the Factory Place? Ive only used it once or twice, and that was in 1stGens, so I don't really remember what it looks like!
  13. Happy Birthday Monty!!! thanks for all your great work!! wrench kevin stein

Douglas A4D-1 (A-4A) Skyhawk - For SF2 (Any and All, but Full-4 Merged Prefered*) - *Note: this makes use of the A-4B lods, that are stock in most installs (SF2 & SF2:V).These and the cockpit may not be available in un-mergerd, stand alone SF2:E and most definately not in SF2:I. Hence, the 'Full-4 Merged Prefered' tag.* The decal sets are taken from the various 1stGen mods of the A-4A, and where necessary I've redone the skin bits, using SF2 A-4B skins to bring them to SF2 standards. This package included 4 skin and decal sets: VA-43 Challangers (Gitmo, 59) VA-72 Bluehawks (1956) VA-93 Blue Blazers (1956) VMA-224 Bengals (MCAS El Toro, 1957) The VA-72 is my original from (whenever); the others were done by some talented folk I've not be able to ID -- as I lost the original readmes (if any). So, the credit is theirs for those skins/decals. I just edited things to fit. Where needed, created new decals. Decal randomization is set to TRUE, so make sure you're at least at the July 2011 patch level (or whichever one it is...). Data ini edits remove the refueling probe. The inis included herein are the latest, as of the August 2011 patch. All loadouts are stock ala the A-4B. The canopy is activated via manual animation, use Shift/0 to open and close. The landing light has also been added. As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... Of course, the usual "Notes" section. These will give you a nice mid-1950s collection of USN Light Strike aircraft for use in various "hot spots" of the time period. Catch the 3 Wire! wrench kevin stein NOTE: with the release of the DLC A-4A, this mod became moot. However, the skins and decals can easily be adapted for use on that DLC.
  15. WWI stuff in Hawaii?

i don't know about ww1, but Ford Island has a very good museaum for WW2 stuff, plus the Arizona Memorial, Submariners Memorial (for those 'still on Eternal Patrol'), and the USS Missouri herself. wrench kevin stein
  16. dosen't the stock one reside in the flightdata.cat?? why not just extract a fresh copy?
  17. i'd like to see a South Africa map ... from the Congo to the cape of good hope, from the atlantic to the indian oceans. Basically, the lower half of the continent and a new, workable WW2 Euro map
  18. Canukistan??? (with apologies to our norther neighbors)
  19. hmmm...perhaps this is one reason to not install from 'in game?' Always done mine manually, and never had a problem. although, since the july, my sound keeps cutting out....and even still now
  20. have you tried the 'forest' object from The Factory Place? It's a single tree... (now, we just need a dog standing next to it....)
  21. Other than some tiling (and scaling) issues, there's something wrong with the Southern California map???. Been trying (on and off) to fix some of the tiling issue, but the frakking thing keeps crashing the TE, so it is as it stands Is there something wrong with DBS aka Bering Straits, or the ASW (Texas/Mexico) terrains, that I don't know about? as to East Coast (see below) Kfrge sent me the base files a while back ... but it's gonnna be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time before it sees the light of day. Needs major retiling, and complete targetization. the major problem with doing ANY terrain in North America, is there are no enemies. Unless one does a 'Wingman' or 'Red Dawn' type scenario. wrench kevin stein
  22. fun, fun fun!! well done! ain't ya glad I put that RWR in there!!!
  23. Time: 1958 Place: Eastern Med, aboard USS Essex ATG-201 goes to work..... (needed: 'fakepilot' refueling probe for Fury. should look like the one off the A-4B, approx 1.5m in length)
