  2. In the same vien as the F-16 A-G radar fix, here's one for the F-15E Mud Hen. You'll now have a working A-G radar.... Now, I'm sure it might not be the correct 'display', but I used the F-4E_radarPPI.bmp, which exists in all versions of the game. (even though there IS an F-15radar_ppi.bmp already in the cockpit folder -- you choose which you like best) SO, open you F-15E_AVIONICS.INI, and add the following line to the [Texture] section at the top: Scroll down a little furthere, to the "AvailableModes=" line and it should read like this: (remember, WoE and WoV use the "GM" tag for the air-ground radar -and apparently so does WoI!!) Copy/paste the data below into the avionics.ini; I just stuck it after the [RadarDisplayACM], which seems like a logical place Save and close. And there you are! Now, if I can figure out the Terrain Avoidence mode.... Wrench kevin stein
  3. Yes, it does. I forgot to update this thread after canadair's PM. Been a little busy.... And you all know better than to post in the KB!!! Jeez guys!!! Wrench kevin stein
  4. File Name: P-400 Airacobra, Skin & Ini Upgrade Pak File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 2 Oct 2008 File Category: Allied Fighters Bell P-400 "Airacobra", 39th FS Skin and Ini Pak, For SF/WoV/WoE PTO installs This is a semi-complete mod, re-creating the P-400, export version of the Bell P-39 "Airacobra". The skin represents aircraft from the 39th FS, 35th FG as seen around Port Morseby, PNG during mid-1942 It is also to be considered a FULL replacement, minus certain files, for the P-400 mod that's been on my site for several years. This version gets a fully upgraded skin, with newly redrawn panel and rivet lines, and a replacement cockpit, based on the Dev A-Team's Hurricane. When I say "semi-complete", this means the aircraft LOD file is NOT included, NOR are the cockpit files from the Hurricane 1. You WILL be transfering these from their respective aircraft. Needless to say, you MUST have Wolf's WW2 Planes Pak for the LOD, and the DATs Hurri. Full instructions, and a parts list, are below in the "Install Instructions". I've supplied all the inis, misc bmps and tgas and various and sundry bits to make the process as easy as possible. The skin, as said above, is for the 39th FS, and has completely new redrawn panel and rivet lines. Aircraft ID numbers are as accurate as possible, based on research. Serial numbers are NOT used, as these were painted out in-theatre. In reality, although not painted on the aircraft, these birds were assigned RAF serials, as they were originally intented for the UK. A revamped, cleaned up version of my original P-39 Hangar Screen is included, as is the damage tga. -= NOTE: you must have the Bunyap Weapons Pak of 6/06 to get the WW2 weapons and guns and such =- - This mod has been tested in SF, WoV and WoE. This mod is NOT reccomended for use in a WW2 PTO style install of WoI, as it handles prop flight models in "a most unusual, and odd way" Good Hunting! Wrench Kevin Stein ps: this is another one of those that somehow slipped under the radar...I'd simple forgotten to upload it here after finishing it! Click here to download this file

F-104A Starfighter, Royal Jordanian Air Force, for SF/WoV/WoE/WoI This is a mod of Ajundair's F-104A to those as used by the RJAF. This is a complete aircraft, all inclusive with all the little various and sundry bits needed to just unzip and fly away. It is designed for use with NO weapons pak, =or= The Mirage Factory Weapons Pak, as the drop tanks are "stock items" in the SF, WoV, WoE, and WoI objects.cat. The Bunyap Weapons Pak can also be used; it really makes no difference who's or which one! HOWEVER -- I've included a nation-specific version of the AIM-9B "Sidwinder", set for only RJAF usage. Using the new 'station specific' mounting, you shouldn't run into any problems with it showing up on other aircraft uwanted. Just for fun, I've included that hack-job Recon Pod I did last year for the European Zippers. Full, detailed instructions on adding them to are included below. So, get your weapons editor warmed up! The skin is the stock natural metal, as seen on the Pakistani F-104A (in fact, it IS the same skin bmps!) All I've really done is just create a 'nation-specific' version, using ALL stock decals for markings. I have also included the A-Z letter decals seen in some photos I found while researching this. New Arabic serial numbers (900-925) and also included. All in all, I can take NO credit for the skin, just for those few decals I've supplied. Loadouts have been adjusted to reflect the 'newish' style of weapons mounting. The data ini is as orignally issued when the aircraft first was released. It may need some FM adjustments, but that's above my pay-grade :) A new WoI hangar screen, based off the WoE-style is included. As is the WoE one, for those wishing to install into SF/WoE/WoV, etc. While designed with WoI in mind, it is perfectaly usable in any of the other 3W sims As usual, PLEASE read the enclosed readme file; installations is pretty simple (for once!), as is adding the weapons. Happy Landings! Wrench kevin stein (taking a little break from targetizing terrains ... and I wanted to finish this for a LOOOONG time!)
  7. The mustang issue was covered in the patch thread; I should know..I posted it. Basically, open the P-51D-30.ini, and change the shadow= to FALSE. The widesky issuse MAY be a tga problem somewhere; some of the others have been having problems as well, although I can't remember if they found a fix or not. Might want to start browsing the "Official Patch Thread"., and the "Things you need to update Thread" , both stickied at the top of this Forum. Wrench kevin stein
  8. File Name: Enhanced template for Bf-109G File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 2 Oct 2008 File Category: Skin Templates / Decal Sets For Wolf257's Messerschmitt Bf-109G This is a "slightly" enhanced version of Wolf's original template, with redrawn panel and rivet lines, several camo patterns, various and sundry marking and labels. Rivets are 'interperative' at best. Feel free to fix any of my mistakes (just let me know, so I can update MY version!!!) It is a psd file, designed for use in Photoshop. Other programs should be able to handle it. These ARE 2048x2048, and might need size reduction when finished Just remember to credit Wolf257 as the original creator, and me as the 'enhancer' Happy Skinning!!! 10. Can you convert that bmp to a jpg, please??? Takes up too much d/l time (yah, I'm lazy!!! ) It looks like a height map problem. Was that city area supposed to be 'flat'??? Like an airfield? That's just what it looks like, and unflattened airfield zone (seen that too many times!!!) Check the height data thingy in the data ini, as we've been discussing for the last week or so. 13. There's also an new keystroke added "Next Gunsight Mode" since the new patch Check you Options --> Controls it should be mapped to the ' single quote key. That should switch you out of Lead-Computing into Caged mode. Dependin, of course, that the cockpit ini has CAGED specified Wrench kevin stein
  14. I'll bet they're near Haeju....that's a movements ini problem (the route postions are defined 'off') EDIT - that's Armed Recon...them trucks are always in the water That's been corrected in the new terrain build (along with a butt-load of other things) Wrench kevins tein
  15. The fix for the pilot position, and the decals, is in the Knowldge Base, under the "bunyap weapons pak nd other odd fixes thread". Somewhere in there To do it without attempting to find it, extract the data in for the 'base aircraft' (say, 21MF), and look at the pilot postion in it's data ini. Just copy/paste that position into the data ini (btw, since these are OLDER mods, it might be a good idea to 'rebuild' the data ini using the latest FM parameters froma newly extracted one) Do not use the 'auto speed' canopy actuation section. You can, however, leave the SystemName=Canopy (or add if not there), as this will allow the Game Engine ™ to open them on the parked aircraft. Same for the decals location, take their psitions from an existing, patched Fishbed decals ini Wrench kevin stein

  17. I guess the best thing to do, would be to upload them here. MInd you, the rivets on them are 'interperative' at best (meaning I followed panel lines, irregardless of weither there should or should NOT be rivets around... ) So, for pure historical accuracy...they might be 'off' a little, as I've stated in the readmes for those 109 and 190 skin sets I've done. BTW, in said skin sets, are the new gunsight tgas..Revi 3, 12 and 16. Might be worthwhile just for those! (one day, I'm gonna break my arm patting myself on the back....). They're from the Pappo Romeo EAW sight pack and were converted by me. Moonjumper/Crusader/Otto found them and pointed me to them. They're a great plus!! Wrench kevin stein
  18. Here's the Turkey in her glory, the aforementioned skin that's been acting-out for Malibu... departing Iwakuni for a leisurly flight back to the carrier. I've done nothing to this (decals inis wise), excpet add the Squadron= line to the textureset ini (as per my pm to malibu) As you can see, the modex numbers and other decals are working fine! Everything checks out good at my end! Wrench kevinstein
  19. The "Things You Need to Update Thread"

In the same vien as the F-16 A-G radar fix, here's one for the F-15E Mud Hen. =NOTE THIS IS FOR WOV and WOE ONLY. WoI uses a different naming convention, and is mentioned at the end. Now, I'm sure it might not be the correct 'display', but I used the F-4E_radarPPI.bmp, which exists in all versions of the game. (even though there IS an F-15radar_ppi.bmp already in the cockpit folder -- you choose which you like best) SO, open you F-15E_AVIONICS.INI, and add the following line to the [Texture] section at the top: Scroll down a little furthere, to the "AvailableModes=" line and it should read like this: (remember, WoE and WoV use the "GM" tag for the air-ground radar) Copy/paste the data below into the avionics.ini; I just stuck it after the [RadarDisplayACM], which seems like a logical place Save and close. For WoI, you'd use it's naming convention, GM is replaced by "GROUND_MAP". So where it's says GM, use GROUND_MAP. Other than that, it should be the same. (in other words, I forgot to test in WoI!!!) And there you are! Now, if I can figure out the Terrain Avoidence mode....
  20. So.... reusing my Stargate Command decals is out???? Wrench kevin stein
  21. Covered, so far, in about 6 different threads. There's even a new post in KB about it, and how to fix it. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showt...mp;#entry198710 Go get 'em!!! Wrench kevin stein
  22. Malibu: another dumb question: which Jolly Roger skin? I d/l bobrock's this afternoon (the Final Countdown version) and it's working fine. (meaning, there's more than one??? ) If hte level 1 decals are like tail tags, try switching them to Level 0, and see what happens. That's what worked on the Corsair.. Wrench kevin stein
  23. RENAME the 'default.ini' in the /controls folder to something like "xDefault.ini", then go back into the game and reset the keystrokes You're like the 97241st person to ask that so far!!! Don't forget people: everytime one fo the 3rd Wire series gets patched, all you key stroke, graphics & sound setting and a host of other things get reset or twitterpated, making you go back and re-do them all. I must say this again, an dswan, this is NOT point at you or any other single individual....but ALL the users! This is the reason we always reccomend having MORE than one install of the game --- you SHOULD keep one absolutely plane jane, with NO MODS WHATSOEVER, and run all your patches in that one, then transfer over the new exe and dlls, cat files -including the terrain cats!!- to the Modded Installs. Of course, now, you'll probably have to delete and re-extract the data inis in the now outdated stock aircraft, but those are easy to pull with the extractor, and then just re-do you changes (like pilot figures and weapons pak thingys) There's a nice tutorial on this very subject in the Knowledge Base, "Patching Made Simple" or something like that, that I can't seem to find at the moment...
