  1. We'd just need to proper models (ie: shapes) for the underwing gunpods. The existing one's we have, for the HS-129 (?) are just a bit too big. Adding armour is a simple data ini text edit, as is adding the gunpods themselves via that and the loadout ini. You can always release it like I've done...everything but the LODs (all inis, skin, decals, etc)... Edward was fiddling with something along those llines last year, when he was thinking about an Eastern Front map. Wrench kevin stein
  2. It's not a ground object, it's a TERRAIN object.... meaning, you take all the bits, and toss them into the terrain folder in question (just like the factory place, truck park, train station, etc). The just add them to the **_types ini, and add them to the *** targets.ini. That's all that's needed.... thusly... [TargetType073] Name=amRadioTower FullName=Radio Tower ModelName=amRadioTower.lod TargetType=COMM_BUILDING ActiveYear=0 TargetValue=200 UseGroundObject=FALSE DamagePoint=05.0 ArmorValue=0.0 ArmorType=0 RepairRate=0.150 StartDetectChance=80 StartIdentifiedChance=10 IncreaseDetectChanceKey=10 MaxVisibleDist=12000.0 DamagedModel= DestroyedEffect=FuelFireEffectTest DestroyedModel=commbuilding1_destroyed SecondaryChance=0 and for the targets... [TargetArea010] Name=Makasar Position=112000.000000,798000.000000 Radius=2828.427246 ActiveYear=0 Location=2 Alignment=ENEMY Target[001].Type=amRadioTower Target[001].Offset=0,0,-10 Target[001].Heading=0 Target[002].Type=Building1 Target[002].Offset=-100,-100 Target[002].Heading=0 Target[003].Type=Building1 Target[003].Offset=-100,100 Target[003].Heading=0 That's really pretty much it!! Other than the fact it won't blowup....which you can adust in the types ini...DamagePoints= Use a very low number, and perhaps they can be destroyed. You can alos remove them from being targeted (for strike missions, etc), by changing the TargetValue= to 0. The game engine will then NOT assign it as a target. WRench kevin stein
  3. File Name: ZA-9 Kestrel, VMFA-58 "Wildcards" skin File Submitter: Wrench File Submitted: 25 Nov 2007 File Category: Modern Era Aircraft ZA-9 Kestrel, VMFA-58 'Wildcards' skin for SF, WoV & WoE: Simple skin, using the decals from some other Wildcards mods (as everyone knows just how much I =hate= wasting good decals....), and the template provided. It is based off the original gray skin, so all credit goes to Julhelm. It represents USMC squadron VMFA-58 "The Wildcards", had they truely existed, and were flying this aircraft. What, you all didn't think I was gonna jump on this bandwagon????? What better fictional unit to have flying a fictional aircraft, than the "Wildcards"!!! There are personalized nameplate decals for the characters, plus a few other I always throw in for good measure, and just plain fun!! (there are 2 screenies in the zip...one shows a close up of the commander's A/C - he uses a different patch) Simple, easy to follow instructions are in the enclosed readme...it's just a simple skin and decal pak, so it's really hard to mess this up.... Enjoy! Wrench kevin stein Click here to download this file

  5. What Indian AF mods???? Lies, lies I tell you!!!! There are not InAF mods here at combatace...it it all lies from the Western propaganda machines!!! No, but seriouslly, they should be here...check the "Cold War Aircraft, MiG-21" section. I think that's where I put 'em!!! Wrench kevin stein
  6. Those are RIGHETOUS!!! Those AFVs are going to be superb addons. As a humongous sci-fi buff...well, nuff said! Love that little NOTAR!!!! I like the idea of a semi-post apocaliptic (sp?) scenario....something like I did with the ANW upgrade I did a few months back; changed the countries to "Global Sedition" and "Alliance" factionated world (not much different from today, huh??). It wouldn't even be that hard to use ALL the existing maps, and just add/change/adjust for the 'time frame' in question. Didn't Stwa do a post-global warming DBS retile??? As to atrdrivers questions, I'd say absolutely post in the main forums someting like "looking for originals owners of these models", and then list them in post. As to waterbombing...I think we could use a little help in that direction right now, as Malibu's on fire -- again!!! Wrench kevin stein
  7. You can prevent the aircraft from loading thing you DON'T want it to have by using these lines: NotAllowedWeapon= on each of the hardpoint were you DON'T want somethign to be able to load. (see the loadout thread in the KB for some examples, ie: Yak-25 Flashlight) The only unfortunate thing is, you HAVE to list ALL the variants of a praticular missle that you don't want loaded As to the problem with the messed up paint scheme.... older lods, older skins Use the newest lod and newest skin (all covered in KB) Wrench kevin stein
  8. Another one of my projects, never completed, that I found yesturday in the 'full objects' install.... 2 Genie, 4 Falcon, and the D wing-tip rocket pods. (since we only have the D lods to play with....) It'll need full reskinning, with new decals, markings and etc. And before anyone says anything, yes, I DO know the Genie was only mounted on the outboard stations, but the model only has a pylon on the inner stations. Cockpit, data ini, avionics mods are nearly done (even has a landinglight!!). Stuck with using the F-4B pit, for the twin-engine anunciator panels (it's livable). Busy finishing off the upgrade for the C, and gathering data for the J. I know I won't finish it off before we leave Tuesday for vacation (be gone all week...so, fellas, try not the burn the place down while I'm gone, ok??) Hope to have the C out tommorrow or Monday. Yes, I'm that bored.... Wrench kevin stein
  9. Quick slap-together for a later model J, with wing tip fuel tanks, and no rocket pods: slightly different armement, 2 Genie, 2 IR Falcon and 2 SAH Falcons Using the C model lods, and my decals from the C as I don't have time yet to create new ones (not without more research). Mike, when we get back next weekend, I most definately want to see what you got photo, profile, color wise. I've got new templates made up for all but the engine.bmp, as that dosen't need any repainting. As seen here, it's just a simple natural metal with no squadron markings. Intersting you should mention Mister Isham...most of the pics in the Squad/Signal "Scropion In Action" are credited to him!!! Still want to try and figure out the 178th FIS...I think it'd be very cool to have the "Happy Hooligans" in their old steads...them or they 84th??? out of Hamilton or Fresno or wherever! I'm a California boy!! see ya all in a week!!! Wrench kevin stein
  10. Nope, sorry...it's always been Control/O...all the way back to the original flyable mods for the B-57B and Il-28. "H" is tail hook "Alt/H" is the data toggle (fps, removing info displays, etc) Have a look inside your 'default.ini' in the /controls folder, and also in game under the 'options' tab for controls...all your standard and assignable keystroke/ flightstick controls are listed. Wrench kevin stein
  11. Just a little reminder, expecially when it come with getting permissions for other's work.... http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=21405 If you plan on doing anything with the Dev A-Team's craft, PLEASE, check with Capun on EVERYTHING you want to mod/change/upload, etc. Keep him and Charles in the loop for what you wish to do and release. I don't want to throw a wet blanket on anything, just giving a little nudge in the right direction. We've had complaints before about un-permissioned mods, so this is a "CYA" post, so to speak. I'm speaking not just as a CA moderator, but a Dev A-Team member too. OTH, anthing that improves our gaming is welcome!!! (especially Julheim's very cool What Ifs....) and thanks for listening! 14. The rudder decals were done by Heck, they're one decal with differing numbers, but have all 3 lines. (look in the AdA Hawk 75) I just renumbered and reused them. The wing insingia's are painted on, the fuse stripe/roundel is a decal due to 'strecthing'. Tail/rudder stripes were the easiest Colors I got from simmerspaintshop, just matched the closest FS numbers, and added them to photoshop's pallete. I also have an extra layer in all my templates; it's a 10% gray that I call 'fading'. Staring at 100% (non transparent) covering everything (excepting some little items like wheels, tires, radiator grills, etc), then I just increase the transparancy till the colors look 'faded'. I usually take it down to about 10% left. There 'should' be one in the Havoc template I sent you...not sure though! Gotta really thank Heck for his work...I hope he see this! Couldn't have finished the original without his assistance! Or this one for that matter!!! Wrench kevin stein
  15. Reeeaaally??!!!! North Cape & Finland looks like you'll be a 'needin some mooses (moosi?) or something to stand in for the caribu Wrench kevin stein
  16. Infidel of the week

I am truely honored to be named 'Infidel of the Week'!!! Do I get like a certificate, or plaque or something??? Cookie??? I'm also truely sorry that your parents chose to use a Craftsman product. While good and sturdy, providing many years of service in the fixing and repair of (whatever), I personally would have chosen a Snap-On unit. Much nicer chrome finsh (easier to clean, if you catch my drift), fits better in the hand, and the salesperson comes to YOU, so you don't have to make the trip to the local Sears or OSH stores. "spare the wrench, and spoil the child" .... hm....that seems to work! I chose the name because "Fixer of Vehicular Transport Systems" was just too damn long!!! Wrench kevin stein
  17. No probs guys! It'll be nice to have another target.... Wadda mean, you can't post when you sleeping??? Most of the time I do!!! and yes, decals - especially the maunfacture thereof - is a real PIA!!! There's a couple of B-29 mods here that I did (ww2 PTO and WW2 ETO: 46) that have a humongous amount of decals. The WW2: 46 ETO version is the ENTIRE 91 BG...something like 400 decals for the one skin set....serial numbers, squadron code/individual letters, nose art. The PTO set runs about 300 +/- a few. ....I truely feel your pain. Wrench kevin stein
  18. This is where mine stands now; using decals 'borrowed' from Heck Mitchell's AdA Hawks that he did for that package... It's supposed to be 'representative', no particular squadron. You'll note the painted on nose stripes, while not perfect, do work. You'll also notice the shaved down nose guns...there are no bulges. Wolf has allowed Capun to re-build the lod slightly, and this really helped in skin mapping. Its actually done, I just need to get my ass in gear and write up a readme....just lazy I guess! Wrench kevin stein
  19. That's what I need - color schemes (but easy ones!!!). Anything you got, would be a BIG help!!! Spend 2 1/2+ hours last night/this morning downloading the Detail and Scale for the F-89, and while a great resource, it didn't have much on color and markings. I'd love to do the J as a "Happy Hooligans" version...but that might be above my skill level. Tring to find something easy...the squadron at McChord's marking look relatively simple...riiiiight!!!! Making new templates from the original skim bmps ain't that hard...figuring out the exact mapping, especially on the tip tanks is!! Of course, there's always decals....that's how I fixed the flight lead/squadron commander/whatever stripe for the "num000'' bird. As to the loadouts, all my research shows most DIDN'T have the tip rps, but I think I'll leave them one anyway. Wrench kevin stein
  20. Don't I wish I was that clever 4 years ago!!!! No, that was somebody else; it's supposed to represent the Rita. Ghostrider883 has an Indian AF mod of it here at CA, that carries "booms" in the cargo bay Wrench kevin stein
  21. Jarhead: I haven't tested that, as most birds seem to already have it in some fashion. Perhaps not animated in the nose or tail wheels, but definately in the data inis Wrench kevin stein
  22. DAMN!!! that looks good!! They painted on or did you go to decals??? Wrench kevin stein
  23. Canukistan??? (with apololgies to our Northern Brethern) Wrench kevin stein
  24. Your pathway is all wrong. You calling for subfolders of subfolders.... Look at my example...keep it simple, keep the names short. There is a max character length (ie: too long a name). We've had this problem before (Mossie, original Tornado, a few others) FileFormat should read something like this (I'm using a generic Fishbed) MiG-21PFM/Czech2/D/CzNum Rename all your number decals -- and I KNOW that's a real PIA -- but keep everything as short as possible. the pathway should read, as shown above (and below) aircraftfoldername/skinfoldername/decalsfolder/decalname which translates to the example I've just shown. And pleas, do download and read the decal tut that HrntFxr posted the link for...it'll answer a buttload of questions. Wrench kevin stein
  25. Ah! I stand corrected on the min number needed -- which I usually exceed by a great deal!! Why make just one squadron, when you can make the whole wing???? Only a few more hours of mind-numbing work... which reminds me...I gotta finish those buzz numbers for the new Scorpion skin before we leave on vacation Tuesday morning. Vegas, here we come!!! Gonna get me a big-ass plate of BBQ at Red Rock!!!! Wrench kevin stein
