  1. SF2 F-86A Sabre, 1st Fighter Group Skin Pack

    SF2 F-86A Sabre, 1st Fighter group Skin Pack       7/24/2019
-For SF2, Any and All (Full Merged Recommended)
This is a NEW skin pack for the F-86A Sabre. It is designed to be used on the F-86A-5 available from SF2 KAW Sabres Pack. The Sabre(s) are to be found at the following URL:
    https://combatace.com/files/file/13604-sf2-korean-war-era-f-86-sabre-pak/
**Be advised! These are for CONUS based Sabres ONLY!! Do =not= use this set within your KAW mods folder! You are advised to have the aircraft installed into another mods folder for proper year-span & theatre usage.**
This skin set represents the 3 squadrons of the 1st Fighter Group in 1949 when they received the first operational F-86A Sabres at March AFB, and later based George AFB here in California. In the 1950s, the squadrons were dispersed across the US in the Air Defence role, but that's another story.
    The squadrons are:
94th FIS "Hat in the Ring"
    27th FIS "Fighting Eagles"
    71st FIS "The Ironmen"
The skins are in jpg format, and each have 26 all NEW serial number decals.  On the number list for each squadron (individial aircraft serial) drop down, any serial marked with a star (*) has been positively identified as having served in that squadron. Those marked with a cross/plus sign, (+) have been identified as having been assigned to the 1st FG. Those without any markings are generic F-86A serials. It should be noted, due to a lack of a full squadron roster, some of the serials will be repeated across all three squadrons. This could not be helped. ALL markings are decals, expecially the squadron flashes on the fuselage. Other squadron markings, the tail bands, are painted on for each squadron.
On the skin selection menu, on the Loadout Page, you'll see:
    94th FIS, 1st FG (49-54)
    27th FIS, 1st FG (49-54)
    71st FIS, 1st FG (49-54)
As the game tends to order things by number in the aircraft main ini (F-86A.ini), you may want to edit them into the order shown above. The 94th was the first operational unit, followed by the 27th, and lastly the 71st.
The SF2 "date switch" =IS= active on this skin. It will automatically be chosen as the default skin(s) from 1949. As these units were never deployed outside the Continental US, it is NOT reccomended they be used in your KAW install.
As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for the install instructions. For more information on the 1st FG, you are encouraged to look up it's long and distinguished history from World War 1 to the Present Day.
As an added bonus, a one sheet "expliotation" comic-style jpg is enclosed in the main aircraft folder. It's from one of the Hollywood "newspapers" (read: tabloids) of the time. I stumbled across it, and now share it with you all!!

    Happy Landings!

  2. SF2 F-86D Sabre Dog Revamp Pack

    SF2 F-86D Sarbre Dog Revamp Pack    5/19/2020
    "Quarantine Approved - Essential Mods"
    = For SF2 (Any & All) =
This package is designed to replace the original F-86D/L pack available from the folowing URL:
    https://combatace.com/files/file/10286-sf2-f-86dl-v10/
    by suhjake from 2009
It is NOT necessary to have the original mod pack, as this WILL replace it in total. Everything reusable from that pack will be included with this. On a side note, the F-86L "Lima" Sabre will be covered in a a seperate release. Even though the folder is named "F-86D-45" it represents =ALL= production blocks of the Sabre Dog, for those users included in the mod package.
The following units are depicted herein:
    101st Hikotai (56-68) - JASDF
    16th FIS (51-59) - PACAF, Misawa Japan
37th FIS (53-58) - Ethan Allen AFB, VT
    97th FIS (51-55) - Wright-Patterson AFB, OH
431st FIS "Red Devils" (55-58) - Wheelus AFB, Lybia
469th FIS (53-58) - McGhee Tyson AFB, TN
520th FIS (54-55) - Geiger Field, Spokane WA
146th FIS Pa ANG (57-60) -they used the F-86L congruently with the F-86D
    and a
USAF Silver (Generic) -a blank skin for other skinners to use.
All of the Original Skins have been completely redone, although they remain in bmp format. Several of the orignal decals have been reused, but modified from level 2 to level 0 (tail squadron markings). 26 all new serial and buzz numbers have been created. The 101 Hikotai and the 97th FIS & 431st do NOT use this same pool of numbers. They needed they're own for reasons that will become apparent during game play. The 431st is the ONLY unit in the pack that is listed on the stick squadronlist ini, and is tagged accordingly.
Most marking are decals; in some cases wing and squadron marking had to be painted on due to mesh issues (tail). Decal randomization is TRUE for all skins. On the individual number lists, any number marked with a star (*) is 100% correct for that unit.
All weapons, pilots, etc are included. A backup copy of the original Data ini is already provided, as the new one has many modifications and adjustments.
As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... they can be accessed after unzipperizing. Please follow the 'usual instructions'

  3. SF2 F-86E Sabre, 144th FIS, Alaska ANG Skin Pack

SF2 F-86E Sabre, 144th FIS, Alaska ANG Skin Pack       6/5/2019
-For SF2, Any and All (Full Merged Reccomended)
This is a complete revamp of a 1stGen Sabre skin by Dave "USAFMTL" Slavins from June, 2003. It is designed to be used on the SF2 KAW Sabres Pack, for the F-86E-10 available therein. The Sabres are to be found at the following URL:
    https://combatace.com/files/file/13604-sf2-korean-war-era-f-86-sabre-pak/
Also included is a new data ini, with updated hit and collision boxes, and some meshes now correctly named. Honestly, I'd never noticed they were 'way off' until Mue's LOD Viewer! Please note, that Crusader's fix-its have already been applied to THIS versions' data ini. A backup copy of the original (2013) data ini is supplied, so as to lessen End User (tm) workload, and provide a safety net 'just in case'.
This skin repesents the 144th Fighter Interceptor Squadron of the Alaska Air National Guard from 1955 through 1957-ish, when their mission changed from Air Defense to Airlift.  The skin is in jpg format, and 26 all NEW decals have been created for it.  While the serial numbers are historically correct for the E model, they should beconsidered generic in nature as they don't actually repsent aircraft from this particular unit. Decal randomization is TRUE.
On the skin selection menu, on the Loadout Page, you'll see:
    144th FIS AK ANG (1954-58)
The SF2 "date switch" is NOT active on this skin. You'll have to select this skin for your flightmates by hand. However it is easily added by a simple text edit.
As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions.

  4. SF2 F-86F-40 Sabre Remod Pak

    SF2 F-86F-40 Sabre Remod Pak
    = For SF2 ONLY, Full-4/5 Merged (Full-5 Reccomended/Preferred) =

A remod/compliation of several F-86F Skin/Ini paks, now fully compliant with SF2. If you have the originals, you'll probably want to delete them, as THIS pack is designed to FULLY replace it.
It is also suggested you be at the latest patch level, due to some ini 'switches' used.

This pak contains the following skin/decal sets:

    JASDF:
    1 Kokutai
    3 Kokutai
    6 Kokutai
    8 Kokutai

    Imperial Iranian AF
    Ethiopian AF
461st FDS, 50th FBW, USAFE 1956-ish (*note: in RL, was possbily -30 or -35)
and an extra 'blank' natural metal skin, that you can use for whatever.

    Included:
NEW SF2 compliant FM (from KAW)
New 'sabre specific' HVAR A-G rocket (station specific coded)
NEW cockpit (from the KAW F-86F)
    NEW Sounds (from KAW)
    'fake pilot' wing fences
tweeks by Crusader for the KAW Sabres (well done Otto!!)

All skins are in jpg format, and decal randomization is set to TRUE. The loadout ini uses the Year and Nation specific loadout switches for some of the export users, as defined in the enclosed Userlist.ini. Damage textures are the same DDS units as seen with the KAW Sabres. Other than the 'new' rocket, no other weapons are included, excepting the drop tank.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet semi-detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, please give the "Notes" section a read too.

    Happy Hunting!

    SF2 F-86F-40 Sabre, USAFE Part 1 Fix-It Skin Pak 2/9/16

This pack contains replacement "1" maps for the aircraft recently released in the
SF2:E F-86F-40 Sabre, USAFE Skin Pak (Part 1), avaliable at the following URL:

    http://combatace.com/files/file/16039-sf2e-f-86f-40-sabre-usafe-skin-pak/

It has been brought to my attention that I was in error in leaving on the anti-glare panel on the nose. This will replace them with 1 maps that don't have the A-G panel. My apologies!

Simply unzip, and drop the supplied /Objects folder into the mods folder where you installed the original pak. Allow the overwrite.

The Part 1 Package will also be getting updated with these corrected skins, for those that have not downloaded it yet. In other words, if you have them already, you won't need to download the whole package again, but should use THIS package

  6. SF2 F-86H "Sabre Hog" Pack by Zur, Yakarov79 & Wrench

    SF2 F-86H "Sabre Hog" Pack by Zur, Yakarov79 & Wrench          8/29/2022
-For SF2 (Full 4/5 Merged Reccomended)-
The final culmination of a project that started 'way back in 2012 by Zur. Somewhere along the line, I recieved his max files and couldn't find anyone to finish the job. Fortunately for the SF community, Yakarov stepped up and took the challenge in the spring of this year (2022). That final result you see here!
We present to you the North American F-86H Sabre; the last of the Hot Rods!!!
You have a good selection of skins for various time frames in it's service life:
    USAF "Front Line" Units"
50th FBW, USAFE (1953-57) Hahn AB, Germany
    10th FBS
    81st FBS
    417th FBS
533rd FDS, 83rd FBW (56-58) Seymour Johnson AFB NC
A generic NMF skin to build other units from. It carries the TAC badge on the tail fin. The decal ini is easily edited.
As the squadron markings are decals, there is one set of NMF skins used by all.
    Air National Guard:
There are 2 versions of each of the following skins; one with "regular" markings presentation, the others with tail codes and Vietnam era serial presentations. The later VN style skin is as seen during the Pueblo Crisis when these ANG units were Federalized, and Based at Cannon AFB, NM from 5/68 through 12/68. All 4 skins are in SEA 3-tone camo.
    104th TFS, Maryland ANG
    138th TFS New York ANG
While national markings are 'painted on', all others are decals. All serial numbers are 100% historicley correct for the units shown, with only 1 exception -- for the 104th, I couldn't find the full 26, so the last 4 are marked with a (+) plus sign; consider these 'generic'. Decal randomization is TRUE for all skins. The SF2 date switch is active on pretty much all the skins. For those squadrons listed in the game's SquadronList ini, their displayed name has been activated by my "Fake SqTail decal" (patent pending)
To diferentiate =THIS= Sabre Hog from the other one (if you're able to obtain it), you'll see the following on the Aircraft selection drop-down listing:
    F-86H Sabre Hog (Y)
The (Y) is for Yakarov, as he finished off the model.
All other necessary parts are included; sounds, drop tanks (built into the LOD), pilot figure, hangar and loading screens. All weapons use stock 3W items.
As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE read them, before installing!!!

  7. SF2 F-86L "Lima" Sabre Dog Revamp Pack

SF2 F-86L "Lima" Sabre Dog Revamp Pack    6/9/2020
    "Quarantine Approved - Essential Mods"
    = For SF2 (Any & All) =
This package is designed to replace the original F-86L from the pack available from the folowing URL:
    https://combatace.com/files/file/10286-sf2-f-86dl-v10/
    by suhjake from 2009
It is =NOT= necessary to have the original mod pack, as this =WILL= replace it in total. Everything reusable from that pack will be included with this. If you do have the original installed, you will probably wish to remove, move, or delete it. Overwriting may cause conflicts.
As the Lima's were mostly used by USAF Air National Guard units, that is what's covered here. The following units are depicted herein:
    146th FIS PA ANG (57-60)
    190th FIS ID ANG (59-64)
    194th FIS, CA ANG (58-64)
    199th FIS, HI ANG (58-61)
3550th CCTW, Moody AFB, GA (late 50s/early 60s)
3555th CCTW, Perin AFB, TX (late 50s/early/60s)
    and a
USAF Silver (Generic) -a blank skin for other skinners to use. It does have the 'day glo' panels on the wings, fuselage and tail.
As only the 194th is listed in the stock squadron list ini, it uses a level=1 decal to activate the displayed squadron name on the Loading/Skin selection screen.
All of the Original Skins (PA ANG, 3550 & 3555 CCTWs) have been completely redone, although they remain in bmp format. All other skins are brand new for this package. 26 all new serial and buzz numbers, where used, have been created. While correct for this aircraft; all numbers are from the late-production Ds that were converted to Ls, they should be considered 'generic' in nature. State name identifiers and squadron markings are decals. Decal randomization is TRUE for all skins.
All weapons, pilots, etc are included. A backup copy of the original Data ini is already provided, as this new one has many modifications and adjustments.
As always, fairly easy to follow, detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them .... they can be accessed after unzipperizing. Please follow the 'usual instructions'

  8. SF2 F-89 Scorpion Remod Pack (Ver.3)

    SF2 Northrup F-89 Scorpion Remod Pack (V.3)                         5/25/2019
*For SF2, Any & All (Full 5 Merged Prefered)*
This is a repackaging, and MAJOR update of the F-89 Scorpion series of 1950s USAF All-Weather Interceptors. There have been many changes to the various inis, skins/decals, weapons, and whatnots. This is to be considered to be "Version 3", and hopefully the final time the F-89 gets a revamp (unless new models magically appear). This package builds on and improves from the v2 pack dated 3/3/2016. It also replaces that mod completely.
This package contains ALL the various marks of the Scorpion, including those later variants built from/modded of Monty's original C & D model LODs. There are several new skins, marked with the star (*) You have herein:
    F-89C:
    57th FIS, (Keflavik, Iceland)
74th FIS, 23rd FIW (Thule AFB, Greenland)
    F-89D:
75th FIS (Presque Isle AFB, Maine 1955)
    84th FIS (Hamilton AFB 1955-59)
    64th FIS (Alaska Air Command)
321st FIS, (Paine AFB, WA 1954)*
    F-89H:
321st FIS, (Paine AFB, WA 1956)*
75th FIS (Presque Isle AFB, Maine 1957)
    F-89J (Early):
321st FIS, (Paine AFB, WA 1958)*
    449th FIS (Ladd AFB, Alaska)
    F-89J (Late)
59th FIS, Goose Bay Labrador (1958-60)*
178th FIS "Happy Hooligans" ND ANG (1958-66)
    124th FIS, Iowa ANG (1962-69)*
Several versions also have a "Generic USAF Silver" skin, complete with decals. You may notice several squadrons used the Scorpion in several of it's various incarnations. This is historically correct.
Due to mesh/node mapping reasons, some marking remain painted on. A large number however, are decals. Serial numbers are 100% correct for the models depicted, but should be considered 'generic' as they don't represent actual aircraft with a given unit. Decal randomization is TRUE for all skins. Squadron's listed in the stock game's SquadronList.ini have their names activated via my 'fake' SqTail decal. Those will display their proper names on the Loadout Screen's Squadron Selection Window. When possible, the SF2 'date switch' has been used to turn on Air National Guard units as they became equipped with F-89s.
On such aircraft that have operating canopies (those that use the F-89D lod), the canopy works via the Standard Manual Animation Keystroke (tm), shift/0.
Included also are "Scorpion" specifc weapons (using the "StationSpecifieCode=" statements. Nuke explosion effects are included for the AIR-2 Genie rocket.
As is always reccomended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. See "Notes" section for full change log and other  important statements. The various other readmes, from all previous versions remain wherever they were originally residing.

This skin, like the others, is in jpg format, and decal randomization is TRUE. 24 modex numbers have been supplied. It also uses the same pool of BuNum data plaque decals as the others.
This skin represents the USMC squadron VMF-224 "Bengals" from 1949 thru 1952. Based at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, and during their 1952 Med Cruise aboard USS FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT (CVA-42) in 1952.

  11. SF2 F2H-3 Banshee Tweeks Pak -for Razbam Banshees

SF2 F2H-3 Banshee Tweeks Pak -for Razbam Banshees 4/6/2015

    = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

***PLEASE NOTE!!! You must have the original Razbam Payware Banshee set for all the necessary items!!! If you can't purchase the item from the Razbam Store, do =NOT= download this mod; it will do you NO good. This package =ONLY= includes those items modded by me.***

This package contains a few (partly) repainted skin maps for the original skins. They now carry decals for Modex and BuNums.
These are =ONLY= for the F2H-3, as used in the mid thru late 1950s by the USN and RCN (1962-ish end date).
Included are new decals, decal inis, number lists, etc. The repainted skin maps are:

    Fuselage_t
    Main_t *
    Wing2_t

    *-VF-193 only*

You'll find all these items in their appropriate skin subfolders.
Skins remain in bmp format. Decal randomization is TRUE. All USN aircraft use a "pool" of BuNum decals. The BuNums, while correct for this model, should be considered 'generic' in nature, as they represent only the aircraft itself, not specific aircraft in any particular unit. The RCN skin 'bunums' are historic, but again, not matched to any particular aircraft
National insignia, and CVG code letters remain painted on, as is the RCN fin flash.
The SF2 'date switch is used for the VF-193 skin (gull grey/white), activating it in 1955.
The decals are set as 'randomized' for all skins.

Modified data, loadout, and main (F-2H2.ini) inis are included. The avionics and cockpit inis have had a few small adjustments, as has the data ini (see "Notes" for more information). A new SF2 userlist.ini has also been created. Operation dates (including export start and stop) have been adjusted to 'closest year'.
A brighter gunsight tgs is included as well. Shadows have been turned OFF, due to 'tractor beam' issues. NEW damage tgas are supplied as well.
It may be advisable for you to back up ALL the original inis, just for safetys sake.

    When in game, you'll see

    F2H-3 Banshee (Raz)

on the aircraft selection drop down menu.
The aircraft is carrier-capable (after a fashion -see "Notes"), with SF2NA coding for deck 'parking'.However, as the wings do =NOT= fold, you will probably NOT see them parked on the boat. HOWEVER... it has MAJOR issues in getting back on the boat under AI or Autopilot control. The FM needs to be completely overhauled (again, see "Notes").

The Standard Animation Keystroke ™ is used for the canopy, (Shift/0)
No weapons are included, using all stock in-game itmes. Nor are sounds, pilots, etc, included. These are Razbam copyright items, and are included in his package. Those that have NOT updated their pilot to the SF2 folderized standard, should do so soonest.
Further work is required by those FM Gurus to bring it all the way home. I've done what I can with it.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them BEFORE installing (but after unzipping, of course). Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. It, as usual, contain important operational information.
Full credits are listed in the usual place, down with the "Notes".

    Good Hunting, and Happy Landings!
    Wrench
    Kevin Stein

    Updated 4/18/2015:

    changed round counts for guns
some adjustments to FM, will land on boat 8 times out of 10.

thanks to fanatic modder, fubar512, crusader and me!

  12. SF2 F2H-4 Banshee Tweeks Pak -for Razbam Banshees

SF2 F2H-4 Banshee Tweeks Pak -for Razbam Banshees 4/12/2015

    = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

***PLEASE NOTE: You must have the original Razbam Payware Banshee set for all the necessary items!!! If you can't purchase the item from the Razbam Store, do =NOT= download this mod; it will do you NO good. This package =ONLY= includes those items modded by me.***

This package contains a few (partly) repainted skin maps for the original skins. They now carry decals for Modex and BuNums.
These are =ONLY= for the F2H-4, as used in the mid 1950s through early 1960s by the USN and USMC.
Included are new decals, decal inis, number lists, etc. The repainted skin maps for the 2 original skins are:

    Fuselage_t
    Main_t
    Wing2_t

You'll find all these items in their appropriate skin subfolders.

You are also getting 2 brand new skins, for the "early" paint schemes. They are:

    VF-114 (NM)
    VMF-533 (DGNB)

This was done because the 2 original skins are for AFTER the switch to Gull Grey & White. The aircraft operations years predate this, and these skins were needed for histerical accuracy.
These 2 skins carry no painted on marking, other than the star-and-bar (and the fin top color for VF-114), making it a fairly easy proposition for other texture artists to create other units via decals for CVG letters or Modex numbers (and painting out or changing the color of the fin topper).
Skins remain in bmp format. Decal randomization is TRUE for all skins. All aircraft use a "pool" of BuNum decals. VMF-533 uses the same numbers, but residing in their own folder, as they are white in color. The BuNum decals, while correct for this model, should be considered 'generic' in nature, as they represent only the aircraft itself, not specific aircraft in any particular unit.
National insignia, and CVG code letters remain painted on for the originals.
The SF2 'date switch is used for the gull grey/white skins, activating them in 1956, for their respective services. The other 2 early skins will show when years BEFORE 1956 are selected.

Modified data, loadout, and main (F-2H2.ini) inis are included. The cockpit ini has had a few small adjustments, as has the data ini (see "Notes" for more information). A new SF2 userlist.ini has also been created. Operational dates (including export start and stop) have been adjusted to 'closest year'.
A brighter gunsight tgs is included as well. Shadows have been turned OFF, due to 'tractor beam' issues. NEW damage tgas are supplied as well.
It may be advisable for you to back up ALL the original inis, just for safetys sake (read: DO IT!!).

    When in game, you'll see

    F2H-4 Banshee (Raz)

on the aircraft selection drop down menu.

The aircraft is carrier-capable (after a fashion) with SF2NA coding for deck 'parking'.However, as the wings do =NOT= fold, you will probably NOT see them parked on the boat. More information in the "Notes" section.
The Standard Animation Keystroke ™ is used for the canopy, (Shift/0)
No weapons are included, using all stock in-game itmes. Nor are sounds, pilots, etc included. These are Razbam copyright items, and are included in his package. Those End Users ™ that have NOT updated their pilot to the SF2 folderized standard, should do so soonest.
Further work is required by those FM Gurus to bring it all the way home. I've done what I can with it.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them BEFORE installing (but after unzipping, of course). Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. It, as usual, contains important operational information.
Full credits are listed in the usual place, down with the "Notes".

    Good Hunting, and Happy Landings!

  13. SF2 F3D-2/EF-10B Skyknight by Coyote Aerospace

    SF2 F3D-2/EF-10B Skyknight by Coyote Aerospace       1/1/2024
-For SF2, Any and All (Full 4/5 Merged Recommended)
This is the release of AngelP's F3D-2/EF-10 "Skyknight". It's being released as a "provisional Beta", due to the LOD needing more work. But rest assured, it's been 'tested to destruction', and other than needing a few more seperated meshes, is fully functional.
The aircraft has been split into two differing birds, one the night/all weather fighter for the 1950s (F3D-2) and the Vietnam War era stand-off/escort jammer (EF-10B). Due to the need for certain types of electronics (avionics), 2 different cockpits have been used.
The aircraft(s) include the following skin sets:
    F3D-2:
VC-3 (USN) in standard overall Dark Gloss Navy Blue
    VMF(N)-513 -
VMF(N)-531 - both in overall Night Black, USMC night fighters during the Korean War
    EF-10B:
    VMCJ-1 in standard Gull Grey/White
Most marking are decals; excepting a few squadron flashes. Decal randomization is TRUE. As expected, as many Modex numbers as possible have been matched to their BuNums. These are marked with the star (*). Those unmarked could not be matched, or are just 'generic' in nature. Included are pilot figures, drop tanks (ini only) and the EF-10 gets external jammer and chaff pods. This aircraft is NOT carrier qualfied, although the wings fold with the Standard Animation Keystroke (tm), Shift/9, and the canopy hatch with Shift/0.
When in-game, on the Aircraft Selection dropdown you'll see for each:
    F3D-2 Skyknight (CAF)
    EF-10B Skyknight (CAF)
these will differentiate ours from any others you might (or most likely DON'T) have.
As is always reccommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. If there's any Notes, give them a read too! :)

  14. SF2 Fairey Firefly Pak, Post-WW2, Korea & Post-Korea, by Simon Porter

SF2 Fairey Firefly Pak, Post-WW2, Korea & Post-Korea, by Simon Porter

    = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred*) =
*Note: the data ini includes statements usable ONLY in a Full-5 Merged install, as SF2NA contains the proper coding for Carrier basing/usage.*

Some extensive rebuilding (ini and skin wise) of Simon Porter's 2005 Beta Release of the Fairey Firefly Mk5 (aka FR.5). The pak is designed to replace any and all other earlier SF/Wo* versions existing.

All skins and decals are brand new for this mod; the skins were created via a Home-Grown Template ™. The template is included. All markings are decals, making it easy to 'swapout' ship ID letters (provided as decals) or skins to create other operational squadrons. The skins are in jpg format. All new dds-format damage textures are included.

A new SF2 (semi) compliant FM was created, as was the new Userlist.ini. A "new" SF2 version of my original "box art" hangar screen is included, as is the engine sound. This aircraft has been tested in a Full-5 Merged envoriment, in SF2NA for carrier operations.

This pak contains the following skins:
    Royal Navy, Fleet Air Arm:
812 Squadron, HMS Ocean circa 1953-ish (withOUT 'Invasion Stripes')
827 Squadron, HMS Triumph, early Korean War withOUT 'Invasion Stripes' (1950)
827 Squadron, HMS Theseus, mid-late Korean War WITH 'Invasion Stripes' (circa 1951)
Royal Australian Navy, Fleet Air Arm:
817 Squadron, HMAS Sidney, circa 1951

The RN squadrons use a 'pool' of 25 generic serial/Modex Number decals shared amongst them. I say generic, as they represent FR.5 models from the 1948-55 time frame, but with little hard data available, it's almost impossible to run down "which went to what squadron aboard what boat". The RAN serials, are also 100% historic, but again are limited to those known to have operated aboard HMAS Sidney at some point during the Korean War. There are 19 RAN serial/modex decals.
Weapons are NOT included, as they are readily available in The Gunny Pak or the KAW weapons pak, both available here at CA.

PLEASE remember -- the aircraft lod is still in it's 2005 form (read: the Beta) and many bits are not quite right. As there is no MAX file available, the aircraft "is as it is". Some aerodynamic components exist only in the 'virtual state' as data ini statements.

As always, fairly easy to follow install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too. Simon's original Readme is also enclosed.

  15. SF2 FJ-3 Fury Ini Update & Skin Pack

    SF2 FJ-3 Fury Ini Update & Skin Pack 2/19/2016

    = For SF2, Any & All (Full-5 Merged Reccomended) =

This package contains an update kit for NAA FJ-3/3M Fury (v2), available at the following URL:

    http://combatace.com/files/file/14053-sf2-naa-fj-3m-fury-ver2/

If you don't have it already, you'll need that mod first.

Like many (ok, most) of the other Sabres recently updated, the following items have been changed, added to, adjusted and whatevered:

    updated hit boxes/collision points
    corrected mis-named nodes
    activated nose wheel steering
Exported now "TRUE", years now match Userlist (I'd forgotten US Marines is a seperate nation!!)

FM remains the same; I've just performed some very basic and small tweeks.

A new skin is included for VF-191 "Satan's Kittens" (that I'd forgotten to finish from 3 years ago!!)
All markings are decals, and the skin is in jpg format. The aircraft is finished in standard USN Gull Grey/White. I've supplied 18 modex number decals, and decal randomization is TRUE. The skin is basicly "blank", making it fairly easy to create other units, via decals.

As always the standard, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. Please READ them!

This package contains 2 new Us Navy skins for the FJ-3/3M Fury.

This package contains skins for the following squadrons:

VF-91 "Red Lightnings" (USS Ticonderoga, WesPac, 1957/58 "NG" code)
    VF-173 "Jesters" * (USS Franklin D. Roosevelt, 1956/57 "R" code)

(* note: VF-73 also was called Jesters, in approximately the same time frame!)
Also, for VF-173, I've suppled tail and wing code letters (AD) for it's deployment aboard USS Randolph (6th Fleet); although the profiles (in the skin folder) MAY be in error, as the time frame overlaps that of the deployment about the Rosie.

Almost all markings are decals, with the exception of some special squardron markings and color "zaps". The skins are in jpg format. Decal randomization is TRUE.

As always the standard, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. Please READ them!

SF2 Formosa Straits Terrain Revamp (v.2) by Gepard                           10/15/23
    *Full 5 Merged Installs Recommended*
This terrain mod is designed to REPLACE any and all eariler versions. It also includes any previous updates from long past years. It is designed for use with the SF2-NA environment
While the tiling has not been touched, (almost) all the target areas have been revamped, rebuilt or replaced. Several new regions have been added, and many of the other inis have been upgraded (See Notes for more changes). Several items (Ground Objects & Weapons) are supplied; in the Notes section is a list of other items you'll probably want to obtain. Be advised, you will experience longer than usual loading times, due to the weight of objects on the terrain. And yes, you can expect a plethora of 'hidden in the open' Easter Eggs. After all, it's my trademark!! (tm)
As always, PLEASE read the install instructions, and the accompaning Notes and Other Nonsense for more details on other needed items. As is reccommended, unzip to an easy to find location, so you can access the readme for it's full instructions. Gepard's original readme is also included, for historical purposes.

  19. SF2 French Navy F6F-5 Hellcat and F4U-7 Corsair

SF2 French Navy F6F-5 Hellcat and F4U-7 Corsair

    = For SF2, Full-4/5 Merged (Full-5 Reccomended/Preferred) =

This pak could also be called "Post-War French Naval Aviation".

*Note: There is a distinct probability that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs. However, some data ini and other statements will =NOT= be in effect in 1stGen SF/Wo* at any patch level (with the possible exception of WoI plus it's ExpansionPak -this has not been tested, as I ONLY mod for SF2). It is designed for use in SF2/SF2NA, at the most CURRENT patch level. Your milage will vary!*

*Note x2: built/tested in the SF2NA Environment; Again, your milage will vary*

The pack contains the following aircraft, skin/decal sets:

    F6F-5 Hellcat:
Flotille 1, aboard Arromanches, early 1950s in Indochina

    F4U-7 Corsair:
Flotille 14, aboard Arromanches 1950s, Indochina
Flotille 15, circa 1956, with Suez yellow/black 'Invasion Stripes'

FMs have been adjusted as per the KAW Corsairs, and the WW2 USN Hellcat. Skins on the Corsair have been conveted to jpg format; the skin for the Hellcat remains in tga format. Decal randomization is TRUE for all.
Both aircraft are "stand alone versions", nationalized for French Navy usage.
All sounds, weapons, pilot figures, etc are included. New SF2-style hangar screens were created for both aircraft.

The canopy for both works via Standard Animation Keystroke; Shift/0. The wingfold on the Hellcat does NOT work; however, the Corsair's does (I didn't break this one!). Use it's Standard Animation Keystroke; Shift/9.
Both aircraft are fully carrier capable in the SF2/SF2NA environment.

    When in-game, you'll see

    F6F-5 Hellcat (FN)
    and/or
    F4U-7 Corsair (FN)

in the Aircraft Selection Drop-down window.

As a bonus, included are also Optional modifications to the following terrains:

    VietnamSEA
    IsrealME

These have modified _water.bmps that have the 'green CV Zones' added. V-SEA has them approximatly for Yankee & Dixie stations. IME has them approximately for Operation Musketeer (56 Suez Crisis). Both terrain's main and nations' ini have been expanded to include 'FrenchNavy'.
Also, you'll be needing to extract the Game's Nations.ini, and make one small adjustment to it. Instructions are below, in the "To Install" section.

And.. by downloading now, an extra added bonus!!! a couple of FN ships:
R95 Arromanches aircraft carrier, from PauloPanz's "9 Carriers" mod pak (with minor changes by me)
Le Brix class destroyers, based on Hinchbrooks' C-Class DD. A pure stand-in; but something was needed for the CVBG. This will have to suffice for now.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please -READ- them. Also, give the "Notes" section a read too for futher explinations, clarifactions, illuminations and so forth.

  20. SF2 Grumman C-2A(R) Greyhound Pack by Coyote Aerospace

SF2 Grumman C-2A(R) Greyhound Pack by Coyote Aerospace                   4/19/2023
    -For SF2 =ONLY= (Full 5 Merged Required*)
This pack is the release of the C-2A Greyhound cargo/carrier-on-board delivery (COD) aircraft used by the US Navy. This mod represent the "C-2A(R) or "Reprocured" airframes as used from 1984 onwards. These are the 8-bladed prop versions. *This mod makes use of the stock 3W E-2C Hawkeye's destroyed model. SF2:NA is required to gain access to that lod. If you don't have NA, you may have to edit the data ini to use another destroyed model.*
The aircraft is finished in standard USN Gull Grey/White.   Serial number (BuNums) are 100% historly correct for this model, but should be considered generic in nature. 16 BuNums are provided, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. The templates for the skin are also supplied for other texture artists to use, and improve upon.
Skins supplied in this package are:
    VRC-30 - original
           - 2009 scheme
           - 2015 scheme (various Dets)
    VRC-40 - 1999 scheme
           - 2015 scheme
           - 2018 scheme
There are also some 'cargo pallets' as weapons, for loading in the cargo bay. (thanks to Cliff7600)
As is always recommended, unzip to a temp folder or your desktop to give easy access to the rest of this readme for it's install instructions. PLEASE read them, before installing!!!
I'd also like to take this time to thank Cliff7600 for volunteering to fix some (most) of the issues I couldn't. He also supplies some very nice new skins!!
*** Be advised, this model is being released in "As-Is" condition. As the model builder has retired, any issues not fixable via ini edits will remain as we have no access to the 3d MAX files ***

I've left 2 'aircraft' layers in, other than the background/foreground items so you can see how it was done, using both a photograph and screenshot to replicate the old WoE-style.

Get used to using the cut/slice tools and the eraser!! And don't forget, SF2 wants them save as jpgs for in-game use (same goes for Loading Screens, too)!!!

  23. SF2 Hawaii/Northern Pacific Terrain, Modern (v.2)

    SF2 Hawaii/Northern Pacific Terrain, Modern (v.2)        9/5/2020
    - For SF2, Any & All (Full-5 Merged, + Expansion Paks REQUIRED!!!)
This is a rebuild of the WW2 Hawaiian Islands terrain into a more "modern" version (1950s and later). This is NOT a WW2 version; it is for post-war into modern times. Do NOT use this in your WW2 PTO mods folder!! You must also have SF2NA are part of you merged installs. This was built and tested in the NA environment.
You may experience longer than normal loading times due to the number of terrain objects. It should be noted, due to the inherent scaling issue in the SF series, objects placed herein are, for the most part, representative of their Real World counterparts. See "Notes" for more information.
When in game, on the Terrain Selection drop-down, you'll see:
    Hawaii (Modern)
Even though the folder remains in it's original name of just "Hawaii".
As is recommended, unzip this archive to a temp folder or your desktop, and you'll have access to the rest of the readme for it's instructions. It's recommended you -read- the document through after unzipping, but =BEFORE= installing.

As always, the "Notes and Other Nonsense" section may make for entertaining reading. Down in that section is a list of required ships that you're going to need!! I've supplied SOME items, but you End Users (tm) are responsible for all the rest. !!PLEASE!!! read the "Notes" section for more more detailed explainations of this terrain, and it's limitations.

  24. SF2 Hawker Sea Fury FB.11/Mk.60 DN (SB) Export Models Pack

SF2 Hawker Sea Fury FB.11/Mk.60 DN (SB) Export Models Pack 1 6/21/2015

    = For SF2, Full-5 Merged (Reccomended/Preferred) =

*Note: There is a distinct probability that this mod will =NOT= work in SF/Wo* 1stGen game installs at any patch level. End Users ™ that attempt it, do so at their own risk. A Full 5 Merged install is reccomened at the LATEST patch level.*

This package contains a NEW aircraft for SF2, the Hawker Sea Fury FB.11/Mk.60 Export, De-navalized versions by Skippybing. This is the reason the folder is named "Sea_FuryDN_sb". The "DN" stands for de-navalized. The tail hook has been removed by the data ini trick, and the wingfold deactivated.
Skins included with the set are for the following units:

    Egyptian AF:
    No. 2 Squadron, REAF

Iraqi AF (aka "Iraq Single Seat"):
    No. 7 Squadron, RIAF

All skins are in jpg format, and Decal Randomization is TRUE. Almost all markings are decals (Iraqi serials are from PauloPanz' excellent upgrade of the orginal Sea Fury by Simon Porter; the EAF serials are mine), with the exception of the fuselage ID bands on both.
Canopy operates via the 'standard animation keystrokes' (shift/0 for the window). Weapons are included (excepting the 60# rockets) as are the pilot figure and AvHistory engine sound. New DDS damage textures are included. These can be used on the other Skippybing Sea Fury's too. There are no hangar screens.

When in-game, on the aircraft selection menu you'll see:

    Sea Fury FB.11/Mk.60 [sb]

This not only tags is as "skippybing", but will diferentiate it from Simon Porter's older one, AND tells you it's the de-navalized, export version.

As always, fairly easy to follow, yet detailed install instructions are included. So, please read them. Also, take note of the "Legal and Usage Disclaimer', it's been changed for this aircraft.
