Rise of Flight - Offline
UK_Widowmaker replied to Hellshade's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Well I have got it..I played offline..but the graphics were all crap for some reason...go online, and they're all fine again. I don't think I particularly wasted my money buying it...but (IMHO) it is inferior in almost every respect to OFF...whether you are online or not. It's IL2 with Biplanes,,,but each to their own I guess. -
Just found this pretty cool pic of the Sopwith production line. As you may notice on the OFF skins, the Sopwith Factory was in Kingston upon Thames..although that is only partly true. It was situated on the outskirts of Kingston, in a place called 'Ham'.... I know this, because I used to live in a House in Ham, and our Back Yard bordered the Factory (it was in the 1970's, and was The Hawker Siddeley factory at that time)...if you were up early enough in the morning, you might catch a glimpse of a Brand spanking New Harrier, it's wings packed alongside it..on a huge flatbed lorry..with Police Outriders...with it's shape showing through the tight fitting silver grey Tarpaulin....very exciting for a 10 yr old lad as I was at the time It then became BAC and later BAE...closing down, and becoming the YMCA Hawker Centre in 2001 I remember looking at the factory out of my bedroom window, thinking of all the amazing aircraft that were built there...The Camel, the Hurricane..THE SNIPE!.....happy days (unless I am mistaken..I believe those are in fact Snipe's in the picture?)

Judy Wallman, a professional genealogy researcher in southern California, was doing some personal work on her own family tree. She discovered that Congressman Harry Reid's great-great uncle, Remus Reid, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889. Both Judy and Harry Reid share this common ancestor. The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows in Montana territory: On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is this inscription: 'Remus Reid, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.' So Judy recently e-mailed Congressman Harry Reid for information about their great-great uncle. (pictured below) Believe it or not, Harry Reid's staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research: "Remus Reid was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory. His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to government service, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honour when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed." NOW That’s how it's done, Folks! That's real POLITICAL SPIN – makes today’s spinners look like amateurs!

That would very much depend on the level of your voice...and your choice of Restaurant (I was of course merely using that film as an example)...would'nt quite work if replaced by Reg Vardy's 'On the Buses'

Well, I loved Avatar...I thought it was entertainment, and well worth the extra to see it in 3d Cannot stand the Arty Farty snobs who are part and parcel of these ludicrous award farces, and indeed the film industry generally You know the type? The Ones who sit around in Restaurants, who are determined that you should hear what they have to say "Oh Tarquin...what did you think of La Controverse de Valladolid?..You know darling...the Jean-Daniel Verhaeghe one?" "Oh God Rupert..I was moved to tears my Lovey..It was Pugnacious of Jean-Daniel to move to a Franciscan Motive...he is such a dream boat" AAAAAARGH...... I just want to get up and Thrust a Toasting fork into their ********* skulls!

I agree with Siggi...it's all about Greed. Whilst I appreciate the piracy concerns of Multi National HUGE corporations (do I feel sorry for Microsoft Windows being Pirated?...Not hugely if I am perfectly honest)...Would I feel sorry for the OBD guys if they suffered Piracy?...Of course I would! The Music and Film Industry are the same...remember the 'Home taping is Killing Music' rant of the 80's? Well...guess what?...the Music Industry is still alive! (and if Simon Cowell is anything to go by) doing rather well thank you very much!!!! I am convinced now, that ridiculous levels of Copywrite protection, probably lose more revenue, than is lost to Piracy...the bad Kama that Ubisoft have now hoisted on themselves, and the Anti-Ubisoft lobby that is growing, both on the Net..and in PC Magazines, will damage Ubisoft's credibility far more than the money they may/may not have saved by doing what they have done (IMHO of course) -
See you in Hell asshole! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/7406475/Bali-bombing-mastermind-killed-in-police-shoot-out.html

Ridiculous!...Steam games are often Cracked..Little doubt (if enough people were interested) ROF could get Cracked...and so will Ubisoft!.....the pirates still get what they want...and the rest of us suffer! (so whats new?)
