If you continue down from where you got this. The 15th F-86H-1-NH was fitted with the "6-3" wing of the later F-86F, with extended wing tips and wing fences. Wing span was increased from 37.12 feet to 39.1 feet and wing area rose to 313.4 square feet. In the meantime, on June 11, 1953 the USAF approved an additional contract (NA-203) for 300 F-86H-10-NHs. These differed from earlier F-86Hs primarily in having different electronic equipment and in having the J73-GE-3E engine. The first aircraft was delivered in January of 1955, and the last aircraft on the order was delivered in April of 1956. The last ten H-10s used the so-called "F-40" wing, with extended wingtips and slats on the extended leading edge, which improved low-speed handling. Yeah but the F-86H left ANG service in 1972. So I think they had to of been retrofitted.

Ah that is good point Henrik.....the scenario plays out as the Soviets are in Norway and have the North Cape locked down. I have that scenario all written out too. Left me find it and post it.

Looking at a map of the GUIK Gap, the Soviets would have a long flight from Murmansk. Their bombers could do it but I am not sure if they would have escort. There is an island 400 miles northeast of Iceland called Jan Mayen with a runway of 5200 ft. It could handle maybe TU-22M's if they were not overloaded but I think that might be a stretch because they need about 6900 ft of take off length and 4200 ft to land. The Bear needs 9200+ ft. The TU-16 needs about 5500+ ft. Having said that, there is room to lengthen the runway and the Soviets would have no problem adapting to the very harsh weather. Other scenarios comes right out of Red Storm Rising. The Soviets take Iceland and launch attacks from there. Thoughts?

Well with the buzz of the new sim and only a few people actually doing the Darius mod thing, I was letting it run itself. I was hoping for more people to do it, kind of pointless when only 3 or 4 are participating.
