  1. I just discovered this stuff called "Tamiya Weathering Master". It is like a ladies eye shadow, it comes in these little cases and you rub this sponge into it and then apply it to the model....Here is a sample of it..... These are nozzles from a F/A-18E I am currently working on. The one on the left is untouched....just painted with "Steel". The one on the right has been painted in Steel, and has also been covered in "Soot" from the Weathering Master set. This took about 5 minutes to achieve this. The nice thing is, if you don't like the way it looks, it is a snap to take it off and retry. Then, when you have achieved the look you want simply lock it in with some dullcoat.
  2. I finally have a place to work without having to break down my kit every night for dinner.... I set up a table in the garage, and added a space heater, worklight, mini stereo. It is just dark and dingey enough to keep the women of the house out and just cozy enough for me to work on models in peace. And...as an added bonus...the floor is concrete, so I don't have the carpet monster stealing parts!
  3. I just saw Amazon has the boxed version on pre order for $24.99
  4. Oh yeah! anyone know a price point for this one yet?
  5. OOOOH! Count me in! I have never liked Bohemia!
  6. That dude got JACKED up!
  7. what a dork... He lists it as a 1952 Sabre Jet F-86D WWII How can it be from 1952 AND WWII? WWII ended in 45
  8. You're kidding, right?
  9. Dude...that's harsh. chill out.
  10. I just scored an Academy F-14A in 48th scale....I have been looking for one of these kits forever
  11. I'm a Rear Admiral......whatever the hell that is
  12. I use IE 7 all the time and upload to CA without problem
  13. Why not both? That way, you serve the people that want just one download, and you help out the bandwidth challenged
  14. Wow. That's horrible. First Richard, now Colin. RIP
  15. Yeah, I have been drooling over the Trumpeter RA-5C...but the price tag is a bit too big for me right now. I am thinking about picking up one of those Tamiya Skyrays. I am just getting back into modelling after a long time, so I will mess up a few Revell kits before I move on to the good expensive ones. Getting back to Trumpeter....I was talking to a friend who has been modelling for awhile and says the thing about them is they already have a bunch of the parts that you would normally be considered "after market"...like the photo etched panels and resin stuff..
  16. That's cool. I am starting to look on ebay more for this stuff....I just paid 2 bucks for my Hobbycraft A-4. The shop down the street charges 26 bucks for that one
  17. Wow....where'd you score that old F-20? Those old monogram kits are hard to find. Revell really shaved down the aircraft stuff after they acquired Monogram
  18. I am building a F/A-18E and F/A-18F, F-14A and an A-4F....how about you? What are you building right now or what have you got on your "to do" list?
  19. You know, my wife says I have a problem being stuck in the 80's too....I just turn up the stereo playing Duran Duran and drown her out.
  20. Dude looks like a lady!
  21. Or at least needs to sit next to someone else on the bench.... http://img267.imageshack.us/my.php?image=image001wc1.jpg
