  1. I have problem with 2 of Gepards old terrains; Israel 2 and Suez 2. Most things seem to be right with them until I close in on enemy tanks on a CAS mission. Some of the tanks are below ground level. Some are partially buried. Some are floating sideways as if on the side of an invisible hill. If I lower or raise the exterior view angle of the tanks they become fully visible but the terrain partially changes to a sky blue. I have the cat pointed to the Desert.Cat and it's in the install's terrain folder. The install is patched to Oct 2008. Any ideas for a fix?
  2. Cliff7600, Nice paintjob. Will you release it?
  3. gerwin, Great info. Wish it was in step-by-step instruction format. Reading all the changes throws me after I think I have set in my mind. Going to give it a try first opportunity I get where I'm left alone and can focus. Thanks,
  4. I tried moving my SF1 Korea install into a WoI XP install. What a nightmare. Sometimes things worked, then wouldn't. Although it was late at night and I was unfocused. I suppose I could try again. WoI XP is one good looking game.
  5. So ... I'm guessing from your answers, if this is possible, it's beyond my capabilities. Too bad, those are some great (almost) SF1 planes. Thanks guys, Geary
  6. Has anyone exported planes from WoI Expansion Pack? I've been trying to export the Meteor and Mustang from the WoI Expansion Pack for other SF1 installs not based on WoI. I got all the Ini and lod files and the cockpit files out of the cat file. I converted the ini files from Unicode to ansi. The planes show up in the selection menu but nothing shows up when it loads. Only Invisible planes and cockpits. I've done all I know to do. I suspect it's the lod's but can't figure out why the planes show up in WoI but won't show up In WoV, SFG or WoE. Any ideas??
  7. Hey, is this a snipe hunt? I followed the instructions in the KB backwards a few times. Didn't fix the water problems. Are you sure this SF2 Korea terrain will work in SF1?
  8. Wrench, I tried Korea V3 in my SF1 install soon after you released it. Love it. But I get anomalies, mostly near water tiles. Does this need some of that 'minor editing' you mentioned?
  9. It's a great looking set of tiles. Love YAP's Terrain. Use it as much as I can. Even use it for the stock WoV campaigns. I think my confusion in my original search for this was the campaign I was installing called for Deuces terrain files to simulate Korea. The files jpg shown were the desert terrain files. Hans Topp's Euro1spv2 files fit the bill. Covered the desert terrain and turned it green. Good looking, although a bit unusual, terrain. Other campaigns/terrains I'm installing call for Deuces Enhanced VietnamSEA tiles or were based on those tiles. A bit confusing. But seems worth the effort to figure it out. Got some great looking terrains and more and varied campaigns to fly. I have this Korea repaint. I like it but it has an annoying shadow in the bends of the river tiles. So I don't use it. Wish it could be fixed because it's the best, IMO, tile/terrain set for Edward's SF1 Korea terrain. That one needs updating. Wish I could do it myself but I don't have the knowledge/skills to do it. Hope one of the terrain gurus answers your question. Something I'd like to know, too.
  10. Wrench, I checked the location. It was location 4. Can't remember the file that set that up, but it seemed coordinated with the targets.ini file. Thailand wasn't listed in the terrain's nations.ini file, so I added it, but it didn't change KORAT's affiliation. So ... I'd reached my knowledge, skills and patience level with that terrain and gave it up. How the hell do you keep (mostly) sane doing this terrain stuff?
  11. Didn't know DAT produced a Rolling Thunder. Gepard did one for SPF1 using his DRV terrain that uses the Desert Cat file. I got that up and running after a bit of thinking and tweaking but KORAT AB comes up as an enemy base. When you take off or land there you're fired on by the enemy AAA protecting that base. I couldn't fix that, so I moved on to other SPF1 campaigns and terrains that led to here. I'll take a look at KillerBee's terrain if I can find it.
  12. Gerwin, Wish I knew the answer to your suggestion, but I'm a bit confused on these older terrains. Is there a Deuces_WOV_Terrain available?
  13. Hans, That may be what I'm looking for. It's not named the same as the campaign calls for, but the files seem to fit the terrain and they green up the desert a bit. It doesn't look much like Korea that it's supposed to represent in the campaign, much too flat, but it's a very interesting looking terrain all the same. More to play with. Thanks again, Geary
  14. Hans Topp, These are very nice tiles, Thanks, But unfortunately, they are not the ones I'm looking for. These tiles are apparently repaints of the VietnamSEA terrain tiles. Deuces were repaints of the Desert tiles to simulate Vietnam. I'm thinking of trying Gepard's DRV tiles to see if they will work in place of Deuces.' Thanks for these tiles. New ones to play with.
  15. Thanks for looking. Thought I had them from way back when, but probably lost them in the many file re-organizations, hd migrations, and/or hd crashes over the years. Here's hoping someone looks deep into their old files and restores it to CA.
  16. Not on low end PC. Just having fun with old SF1 campaigns I've had on ice for years and hadn't installed. Lots of tweaking. Deuces VietnamSEA tiles are called for in some of these old campaigns and terrains. We have many of these terrains and campaigns here, but don't have Deuces Vietnam tiles here, or anywhere I can find.
  17. Does anyone know where I can find Deuces' Enhanced VietnamSEA Tiles? They're referenced in many older SF1 terrains and campaigns but apparently not available here or AVSIM and the site mostly referred to for them is dead. TIA, Geary
  18. Checked the targets_ini for Korat.. Got the following listing: Target[083].Type=AAA Target[083].Offset=-573.20,1497.53 Target[083].Heading=315 Target[084].Type=AAA Target[084].Offset=541.14,537.89 Target[084].Heading=45 Target[084].ActiveYear=1961 Target[085].Type=AAA Target[085].Offset=526.88,-828.54 Target[085].Heading=135 Target[085].ActiveYear=1961 Target[086].Type=AAA Target[086].Offset=-410.75,-1512.31 Target[086].Heading=225 But, I noticed the airfield is RED on the inflight map. It's listed as Alignment=FRIENDLY in the targets_ini.
  19. I'm playing with Gepard's DRV terrain and Rolling Thunder campaign for SPF1. Finally have it working, but there's enemy AAA stationed at Korat RTAFB. It makes take-offs and landing interesting. How do I replace the enemy AAA with friendly AAA. TIA, Geary
  20. Yes, shows up as a selectable terrain in the maps menu, but CTD's when I try to fly. EDIT: Tried it in a clean WoV install and it seems to be working. Guess I'll have to rebuild my WoV install and see what happens. Thanks for the help, All. Geary
  21. Flogger23, I tried that. The map terrain shows up in the menu to select but crashes when I try to fly it. It works fine when I don't change it. It's got me stumped.
  22. I would like to have 2 terrains, the stock VietnamSEA terrain and the YAP3 VietnamSEA terrain in the same install. Both are named the same. I've tried changing the folder and VietnamSEA.ini file name of the YAP terrain and the map shows up to select in the game, but CTD's when I try to fly it. It works fine unchanged for single missions, but doesn't allow campaign flying. I've tried many changes of many of the files in the folder and either the map doesn't show up or CTD's when chosen. I've tried things I read in the KB, but there are no references to this particular problem. I've also tried emulating other terrains structures, ie. South Vietnam terrain, but no luck. Any help is appreciated.
  23. acesfakia, "Wow.....i think was not a 2 seat ...f-100....!!!!!! Great....!" YEP, it's a YAP plane.
  24. Panthers making parts from planes.
