Hi All, I've serached the Knowledge Base(s) but haven't found a direct reference to where to place user created campaigns and missions in SF2 generation games. I have created folders in my ...\Saved Games\ThireWire\Strike Fighters 2 folders as suggested in the Knowledge Base, but it doesn't mention anything about creating Campaign and/or Mission folders. Should I create Campaign and Mission folders and drop the user created campaigns and missions in these folders?? If not, where do the campaigns and mission go? Any help in clearing this up is appreciated. Geary

Hi All, I'm looking for a screen capture program to use in Strike Fighters. I currently use GrapClipSave and it works fine in most of my flight sims but only shows black screens in saved pics of Strike Fighters and IL-2. ( Makes me think I left the lens cap on, again.) Suggestions are appreciated. Geary

Thanks Guys, Wrench, your adjustment to the aircraftdata.ini files took care of the lines. Which didn't really change anything because apparently they weren't casting shadows anyway (reminded me of my ex-wife ). Dave, The planes were the Razbam Banshees and MontyCZ's F-89C Scorpion. Thanks, again Geary

Help Identify SFP1 SP4 Update
Geary replied to Geary's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Thanks Guys, Got that explained and got the updates. -
Hi all, I'm fairly new to modding Strike Fighters and have been learning a lot over the past few days from this site. Wrench has been exceptionally helpful. I've been reading the Knowledge Bases, which are great, but can't always find what I need or don't understand what I do find. I'm currently working on a WWII install. I've installed Gepard's BoB 1.4 Terrain and Baltika's BoB campaign. I haven't added or tweaked anything yet except to add menu items from Edward's WWII Euro terrain install. I followed the instructions (repeatedly) closely and finally got a decent install working. But I have a few questions and challenges as I'm new to SF modding. I installed the WWII stuff over Strike Fighters Gold up to the '06 patch. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit on an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000 Dual Core CPU, 3.5 GB PC2 5300 RAM, 1GB Nvidia GeForce 9500GT PCI-E video card system. So far all the SF games, regardless of which generation, work fine on this rig. - The most consistent problem I have currently with the WWII install is CTD's at the end of missions. Wench was kind enough to give me a fix for the Terrain data ini file, but it didn't stop the CTD's. - There's also a Spitfire 2A with no glass over the cockpit. Per instructions, the lods were borrowed from the Spitfire 1A. It has glass. - I also have very quite machine guns. Anyone know how to make them a bit louder? These are just a few of the current more obvious problems I have in this install. Hope to get to tweaking it soon. I'm looking for advice and suggestions regarding WWII installs. I see a lot of great WWII terrain and campaigns on this and other sites and look forward to getting them up and flying. I appreciate all the work you modders have done and am greatful for any help given. Geary

Thanks Wrench, I've struggled a good part of the day to get a workable WWII install. When I got one thing working, something else stopped. Usually the weapons. Weapons have caused me more trouble than anything else so far in these sims. Been trying to set up Batlik's BoB campaign with Gepard's BoB Terrain. No luck. Was getting CTD's when exiting single missions. Also tried your update of Edward's WWIIEuro. You guys make it sound easy in your installaton instructions, at least what I understand. Didn't get it to work, either. Wonder if it's my Windows 7 Ultimate that's causing problems? Thanks for the tip on the '06 update. Any other tips for setting up WWII installs would be greatly appreciated. Looks like lots of great WWII planes and campaigns.

A Few Questions
Geary replied to Geary's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Wrench, Does 'SF2: KAW' mean Korean Air War for Strike Fighters 2? If so, when will it be available? AND can you point me in the direction of tutorial that will tell me how to get a plane's rubber to meet the road? I have a plane sitting about a foot up off the runway. Thanks, Geary -
A Few Questions
Geary replied to Geary's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Wrench, You're the MAN...Tool? ... Smart Guy? You got most of my challenges for the day met. - I found the instant action.ini. It looks like it has possiblities. But I'll have to experiment with it when my brain's not so fried. Been at this all day. - Had to delete the canopy entries in the plane's data files. Closed the canopies for good. Hope no one has to eject from those planes. - But, I can't find an option in my Options section to toggle the labels. I looked through all the expandable customization buttons, but no joy. I'm useing Strike Fighters Gold as my base sim for the Korean War mod install. Maybe it doesn't have that option or I just don't understand it yet. Guess I'll have to keep looking. Lots of neat little files to explore. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Geary -
Sorry to make a nuisance of myself, but I'm new to modding SF and I have lots of questions and this seems to be the best place to find answers. I have three questions I'm trying to get answered for a current project. I'm working on a Korean War install using Edward's Korean War mod from this site. The stock aircraft get deleted from this install which screws up the Instant Action. I've tried to substitue Korean War planes for the deleted stock planes in the options.ini file, but the Instant Action still crashes. - Any idea if it's possible to switch planes and terrain in Instant Action? In this case I'd like to have a Korean War Instant Actions. - Is it possible to toggle the labels off/on? - This Korean War install comes with two planes, an F-84G Thunderjet and a Meteor that fly with the canopy open. How do we close the canopy? I know we can map extra keys to actions, but I can't find any information on how to do that? Thanks for any help provided. Geary

Hi all, I'm fairly new to modding Strike Fighters, but have been modding CFS2 for years. I"ve come across a problem that has me stumped. I've modded a clean SFP1 with the Korean War mods downloaded from this site. The Korean War mod gives me aircraft for this particular mod. When I choose a single stike mission, the bombs and some tanks won't show up for loading on most of the aircraft. The loadout files for the planes list bombs, ie., MK81 and MK82. The bombs are in my weaponsdata.ini file and weapons folder and I've checked and rechecked and recompiled the weapons dat file with the latest weapons editor for SPF1 Generation 1 from the Thirdwire site. The odd thing is that I can install the same aircraft into a non-Korea modded SPF1 install and the bombs show up fine for loadout. It only seems to be a problem in the Korea War mod. I've tried different planes/jets in both installs and the result is always the same, no bombs in the Korea War mod install, but show up in the non-modded SPF1 install that I made the Korea War mod from. I've tried loading and compiling every weapon pack I can find into my Korea War install, but still no luck. Any ideas what's causing this?? Thanks for any help provided.
