  1. OK, I got the items moved to where I want them, Thanks for your help guys. Now I have a problem with the numbers. I'm pointing to the USMCNum in the decal.ini file to number the planes, but it only uses the number 04 for all the planes. I tried the USNAttackNum and it only used 304 for all the planes. I also tried putting the numbers in a D folder and pointing to the folder and created a numbers.lst file. Still only get the 04 number on all the planes, no matter what number I choose in the hangar. How do I get this to number the planes sequentially?
  2. Example: I'm trying to move the Stars-and-Bars on the MD-450 to the left, closer to the '04' number on the nose. I also want to move the kill icons above the number to the right under the pilot/canopy. So... any help?
  3. FC, Got the theory. So, if I want to move a decal to the left, I subtact from the first set of numbers???? To move to the right, I add to the first set of numbers?
  4. Isn't there a tutorial around here on how to place decals? I could swear I read this in a KB somewhere here, but can't seem to find it now. I want to know how to adjust the Position numbers in the Decals.ini file. I know there are two sets of numbers and one set moves the decals left to right and the other set moves it up and down, but crap the left to right number set is chapping my backside. Anyhelp finding the magic number code book is greatly appreciated. Geary
  5. Great improvements, but if I use these campaigns that fly off a carrier while using the latest version of your Desert3 v1.3 then the carrier is in the desert. If I revert to the first Desert3 v1.2 terrain, the carrier is in the ocean. Any plan to update these campaigns to work with the latest Desert3 v 1.3 terrain version?
  6. I must be doing something wrong. I've done as you describe, yet the Burning Sands campaign still shows up in my Vietnam install. The theory sounds right, must be me, my install or my rig. ??

  8. Hi all, I'm running a 5+2 merged install and creating separate installs from that. Every separate install contains all the stock campaigns from all 5+2 games. Is it possible to delete the unnecessary campaings from separate installs without deleting them from the main merged game install? I.E. I have a separate Vietnam install from the 5+2 merged game install. I only want the Vietnam stock campaings in the separate Vietnam install but it contains ALL the merged stock campaigns. Can I delete the SF2E, SF2I, SF2 and SF2NA campaigns from only the Vietnam install? Geary
  9. Hi all, I'm installing some of Ndicki's great BF109's. They require the AV History WW2 guns. The AV WW2 weapons pack has no instructions except for entries in the soundlist.ini which I've accomplished. There are gun folders, tracer .tga files and sound .wav files that need to be placed somewhere, but I can't figure out where. I've placed them in the a dozen different places but can't seem to get it right. Any help to get these great birds firing is greatly appreciated. Thanks,

  11. Like you, I didn't think much of the F-8 at first, too odd looking. But after flying it in WoV, I've a new respect and liking for it. Would like to have the SEA Camo for it for the USAF. Would look nice escorting USAF SEA Camo painted A-7s. :sohappy: Templates for the TW model would be greatly appreciated. Hope some turn up soon.
  12. As my phantasies keep telling me, I'm probably delusional, but I could swear I had a SEA Camo skin for one of the TW F-8 Crusaders. (Yeah, I know the US Navy didn't paint their Crusaders in the SEA camo pattern in Vietnam, hence this post in the What-if forum.) I suspect, if I did have one, I lost it in one of my numerous computer/hard drive crashes over the years. I also suspect it's possible if I had one, it wasn't for this flight sim, or I saw one somewhere, or I dreamed it, confused it with some other skin, etc,... Anyway, if anyone knows of one for the TW F8s, could you please point me in its direction? I appreciate any help offered. Thanks, Geary P.S.   13. I think I figured it out. Some of the installs where the animation didn't work were set to easy gameplay in the options menu. When set to normal or harder, the animation shows up. Guess I'll have to start wearing my big boy pants to fly. Sure am going to miss wearing diapers in the cockpit. Saved me soiling my pants on numerous occations.   14. DoctorQuest, I have renamed the NA .exe and created an install from that. The avionics don't show up in that install. That's one reason I'm stumped. ST0RM, I can do what you say, but I also want to mod other installs with the F-14 included. The F-14 is ONE of the reasons I bought NA. But if that's the only conclusion I can come to, I may impelement that idea. Brain32, Could be I mis-installed the NA in my installs, but if there's anyother way to install I'm unaware of, then I installed it correctly. IIRC the MDF's worked when I first installed NA a week ago. Thanks, guys, More to reseach and experiment with. Geary
  15. I merged SF2:NA into a full-4 merged install and a stand-alone SF2 Europe. If I start the SF2: NA .exe mod and fly the F-14 I get animation in the two MDF's in the center and lower center of the cockpit panel. (Picture 1) But if I start any of the other merged installs, ie, Europe, Isreal, Vietnam, etc, and fly the F-14, there is nothing in the MDF's, they're as blank as a blonde's expression. (Picture 2) I thought if the plane showed up in any merged install it called out the same cockpit, avionics, data, etc, from the same centalized magical black hole all that stuff is stored in. Anyone else have this problem or know how fix it?

  17. Hi all, Has anyone managed to get the SF1 B2 Spirit to fly in SF2? I've tried in different SF2 installs: Stand-alone without SF2:NA; Merged with SF2:NA; Stand-alone with SF2:NA, etc.... No luck. It loads up to 100% when you hit the 'fly' button, then jumps to a black place void of sound, light, warmth and life, like the interior of my ex-wife's heart. Have to Control-Alt-Delete to get out of the game. The skin is hi-res, 2048, but downsizing didn't fix it for me. And my machine doesn't have problems with hi-rez skins. So.... here I am, unable to sneak up on places and bomb them into the stone age. Any help is appreciated.

  19. Dave, I am using the SF2 TMF Tomcats, but the cockpit struts are super thick, dark and heavy. Makes feel like I need to pull my head into my neck. Fractalnoise's is thinner and easier to see.

  21. Hi Ian, I don't know all the bits that don't work, but much of the HUD symbology doesn't show when I switch between radar modes. If the picture attaches correctly, you will be able to see what's supposed to show. Cheers, Geary
  22. I've exported Fractalnoise's beautiful F-14 SF1 avionics update for the MF F-14 into SF2E on the same MF F-14A. All the HUD avionics work in SF1. Still get that beautiful cockpit panel but a good deal of the HUD avionics don't work in SF2E. Moved and changed all sorts of folder, ini entries, tried different avionics packages, etc.. Still can't get them to all work. Checked the SF2 KB. Couldn't find anything covering SF1-to-SF2 avionics. Any help or pointing to help is appreciated.
  23. Hi all, I'm looking for the Su-30KN. I've found references to it throughout the site, but can't seem to find the plane. I have found the Su-30MKM in a campaign and a Su-30Mk2 as a stand alone Bolivian plane based on the Su-30NK, but no Su-30KN. Any help is appreciated. Geary

  25. Possibly, But because of guys like you and Soulfreak and Dave, there's a ton of stuff and knowledge in the SF1 section. You guys already know this stuff, but you did it for the same reasons I'm doing it. You love to tweak and build things. Remember the feeling of tracking a tweak and the exhilaration when you got it tweaked they way you wanted it. I bet you're feeling these same things with SF2 now. I'll be moving on to SF2 soon. Just want to tweak my SF1 installs. AND I'm having fun while learning. Thanks for all of that, all of you.
