  4. Oh man. I just went outside to swap the prover over and holy crap. My granddad was right when he said one of the coldest winters he spent was a summer in San Francisco. Cold and windy tonight here in the East bay. That will keep me awake. Yeah the nights are great, i really don't mind. If it is quiet and slow I can read, a little SFP1
  5. I'm on 1800-0600 It really starts to hit @ the 0300 mark. Then the commute home. oh man i gotta 45 minute drive and i think i doze though the last half.
  6. I know why I am not sleeping right now (work). Some of you though seem to be active on this board all day and night
  7. I looked it up and you guys are correct JP-8 has the same flashpoint as Jet A (commercial) (minimum 100 deg.), JP-5 is a kerosene type fuel with low volatility and a high flash point of approximately 140 degrees Fahrenheit. JP-5 is used for Navy shipboard and fleet support shore activities. JP-8 is a kerosene type fuel suitable for most turbine engined aircraft. It has a flash point of 100 degrees F and a freezing point of –47 degrees C.

  9. AHHHHHH. Thanks that is very informative. I wonder what the difference is or if it is an accounting thing. I know all they do is inject additives in to regular Jet A (the kind that goes to the airports) to make it.
  10. The guys I work with wonder what types of aircraft use JP-5 and JP-8 respectively. I work for a petroleum pipeline and we pump both and are curious. We pump from refineries to a terminal and they ship via barge and vessel. We never even see it from our control room .
  11. Woopsy. F-14 carries 8 i think. 4 on the fuselage and 4 on the two pylons.
  12. Understood. I don't knock the men and women working for SWA either. I just hate the ABC thing.
  13. WEEEE.... That was fun
  14. All i meant was shooting down an f-4 was an expensive mistake. sorry i didn't clarify. i am sitting at work ALL night bored. Just making 'conversation'.

  16. IMHO Southwest is not a decent airline, it was not a serious statement I hate me some Southwest. The cattlecar of the sky. A, B or C my @$$. Why is it such a big deal to not assign a friggin' seat? That is one expensive mistake.
  17. With re: to the unknown trailer with the explosion and statue of liberty getting her head ripped off... CHECK THIS OUT... referred to as Cloverfield... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloverfield I have heard Godzilla and Voltron thrown around as possibilities
  18. Amazing, how much of a career ender was that? I remember a story about a hawk battery during Desert Shield launched a missile by accident. They were running a test or a sim and BAM away she went. W/O rear reference she blew. That is one thing but, to actually shoot down a friendly while training. i would think that would get you flying for Southwest in no time.
  19. http://www.whysoserious.com/ Sounds like it is keeping in line with the last bat flick. The question doesn't seem to be if a good Super hero sequel can be made, but if a third installment can hold up to the originals (i.e. Spider-man 3, X-men 3, The entire Original batman franchise, Superman 3 and on).
  20. Tony Stark played by Robert Downey Jr. RDJ as a super hero, I dunno... comicbookmovie.com 'IRON MAN' MARK 1 REVEALED!
  21. I was reading about the F-14's combat record on line and stumbled across a wikipedia article that stated... Blue on Blue EngagementAccording to the magazine AIR International, the F-14 have not just shot down Libyan and Iraqi aircraft, but also an USAF F-4 Phantom over the Mediterranean Sea in 1987. Former F-14 pilot, Dave "Hey Joe" Parsons, gives an account of the incident,[4] that during an exercise a young F-14 pilot from VF-74 The Bedevilers received the call "Warning Red, Weapons Free", the young pilot was alarmed and asked his seasoned RIO if he was supposed to shoot, and the RIO replied "Yeah, go ahead and shoot 'em". The RIO of course meant to do a simulated attack, but the pilot misunderstood, armed an AIM-9 Sidewinder and fired at the RF-4C Phantom. The USAF crew did not know what hit them because there was no explosion when the Sidewinder hit the Phantom. The F-4 crew was picked up, and was quite demoralized before they were told what had actually happened as now they would not have the burden of losing a jet to unknown causes. Joke cartoons quickly emerged such as, "USN 1 USAF 0" being faxed to the USAF. There was some retribution for the Navy because a few years earlier, a USAF exchange pilot flying with the same squadron that shot down the RF-4C in 1987 shot down his flight leader with a Sidewinder, so fax responses back to the USAF started "Now, we're even!" Is this true?

    Hidden Talents?

Ever since I bought my house 4 years ago and went through the whole thing I would have to say home improvement. We went through the whole thing. I really love my miter saw and table saw On the side this year I have remodeled my inlaws home, redone their kitchen, wood flooring, electrical. Last time my mom asked my brother in law (who is a contractor) for some help with crown molding and some flooring my step-sister said, "Why don't you ask Todd he's so handy now..." What a piece of crap.
  23. This sim, this board, you the modders, moderators, admins totally frakkin' rule. I look forward to the Finback, the SU's, 'what if's' and all the other mods with anticipation. I have enjoyed the mods i have downloaded so far (i think most of the one's here and C5). Thanks to Marcfighter/Razbam for an additional aircraft to add even more depth to the sim. I guess one man's target is another mans dream machine
