  1. Better start looking for it in the Gobi Desert

15K? No big deal . Extendng the El Faro's course line towards Puerto Rico, it would have eventually crossed over the Puerto Rico trench, where its deepest part (The Milwaukee deep), has been recently sounded to 28,560 feet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puerto_Rico_Trench
  2. It's an entry that has to be added to the "AIDATA" section of each and every flight model, like so: [AIData] MinAIQuality=Veteran MaxAIQuality=Ace
  3. Following a warp signature trail, the IKS Klothos enters a dimesional vortex, that was undoubtedly created by the passage of a Federation star-ship. The Klothos's crew now find themselves over 300 Earth years in the past, and deep within the atmosphere of an M-class planet... D7.wmv
  4. Working on navigation and hull lights, disruptor locations, and the photon torpedo effect. I'm trying to stay within TOS canon on the latter, and want to avoid making the effect "too large". I can increase it in size a bit...what do you guys think?
  5. It also depends on the skill level setting that you use for your flight, and for the enemy. I set the skill levels of my aircraft FMs to a minimum of "veteran". That helps, but does not completely resolve the issue. Likewise, running into an enemy flight that is setup that way can be a bit exciting

Well, they appear to have found the El Faro, in 15,000 feet of water: http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2015/10/wreck_of_cargo_vessel_owned_by_nj_shipping_firm_be.html#incart_river_home
  7. All velocities in the series are expressed in meters/sec, all altitudes in meters, all terrain offsets in meters, and all weights are in kilograms.
  8. I fondly recall an MP session that Dave and I flew, just after WOE was released from Beta, round about the Spring of 2006. We had added several additional aircraft models and weapons, cloned our installs (very important with addons) and flew a co-op mission, where we were flying Eagles and defending strike aircraft (If I remember correctly, they were A-10s). Anyway, we encountered a flight of the as then unreleased Mirage Factory MiG-29As, covering another flight of MiG-23s that was bouncing the strike package I killed a brace of MiG-23s in quick secession, only to hear Dave calling for help, telling me that there were "a whole bunch" of MiG-29s on his tail, and would I very much mind getting them off of him . I "looked up", and saw Dave in a rolling scissors with three Fulcrums on his tail. I killed two of them, and Dave managed to push the last one out in front of him, and killed him with guns. That was probably the most fun I ever had in MP
  9. Any ham operators here?

    But, I don't like SPAM!
  10. Cold War Sub Secrets

Interesting episode of Nova, including some speculation on what happened to the Scorpion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaaI_Cz2qv4
  11. Video card. You are currently using your system's onboard graphics, and as you've discovered, it does't quite cut the mustard. Given the current prices of such things, I'd suggest (at a minimum) a 2 GB GeForce 750ti, or better.
  12. The sure fix is, unfortunately, a more capable graphics adapter.
  13. Hangs at 80% load are generally terrain-object related. Hangs at 90% are usually ground-objects. Be aware that feature-rich terrains definitely cause a load delay at 80%, even on fast systems. Have you tried a simple terrain, such as the stock desert or the range, to troubleshoot the issue?
  14. Cool Video, "Spitfire 44"

This is a must see: https://www.youtube.com/embed/ie3SrjLlcUY
  15. Only the Enterprise, Kevin. I never released the D-7. I should finish it.
  16. Cars and Jets, USA 2015.

    Cool! Thanks for sharing.
  17. Calling zippo9

Welcome to CombatAce. Wade on in, the water ain't deep....it just looks that way
  18. You seek Yoda, uhhh, I mean, Crusader
  19. Seriously? Did you knot read the part about DX10?
  20. It's not going to work, so you are wasting your time. ThirdWire removed multiplayer, as it had originally depended on Microsoft's DirectPlay under DX9 (and earlier DirectX versions). Microsoft removed DirectPlay support staring with Windows Vista and DX10, The SF2 series was developed with Vista and DX10 in mind, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirectPlay
  21. Those of you using an Nvidia graphics card to run SF2 should experience a nice little bump in average frame rate by implementing this tweak: Open up your Nvidia control panel, and under 3D settings/manage 3D settings, scroll down to "Maximum Pre-rendered frames. The default setting is 3. Change it to 1, click OK to accept the change. and monitor your in-game framerate, specifically the average. I gained a nice bump in FPS from this tweak, on the order of 15%. Thanks to Brian Easy at Tech YES City.
  22. Strange Pop up...

    Run cleanup. Flush the toilet.
  23. Those values under "AIData", are specifically tailored for the F-86 flight models, to discourage the AI from pulling past the stall. Using them, say, for an F-15, will hamper the AI's ability to use that model's higher AoA capabilities.
