  1. Evenin' all I've got what I'd call a big problem when I want to play a campaign in Strike Fighters 2. When I click on the CAMPAIGN tab on the main menu I end up getting the black screen of death before a small window appears informing me that "StrikeFighters2 has stopped working". I'm totally at a loss as I've never encountered this before. Anybody know what might be the cause of this?
  2. Does anybody have any problems with third party effects while using Windows 10? I've had a problem with various effects from Stary's Unified Effects mod which used to work fine for me on Windows 7. One example is the ClusterBombletExplosionEffect - I release the CBU and there are no bomblet explosions on the surface. In each case with each effect I've checked and re-checked to ensure that everything necessary is in the Effects folder.
  3. I think you hit the nail on the head there, Do335. I renamed ClusterBombletExplosionEffect to the stock ClusterBombEffect Problem solved! Third party effects - stock name; and NO messing about with the ParticleSystem file Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction
  4. Hi Snailman. Great work on the pack! I noticed with the Kh23 missile you have an effect assigned called "MissileInFlightFlareEffect". Is that a stock effect or a third party one? If it's the latter could you pass it on to me? Cheers and thanks again!
  5. Simple. Just resize the tiles yourself. AFAIK it can be done on any PC using Microsoft Paint.
  6. If I remember correctly the reasons that the numbers were high was cos they were tailored for a high powered system that could handle it (ie: a gaming rig).
  7. That's strange - I was getting very dark cockpits with almost unreadable panels until I installed the latest SARCASM mod!
  8. Rebuilding the SF2 series on my desktop is a painfully slow process - BUT is hugely rewarding when viewing the results.....
  9. Well done on the latest SARCASM mod Stary mate! I've been rebuilding my mod for the past two weeks or so and it makes a huge difference with no noticeable framerate penalties One question; which mod folder do I place contents of the Shaders FlightData zip file into?
  10. Excellent trailer Johnathan! BTW, what bomb effects are you using at 0:39?
  11. It seems my know-how has gone a more than a little rusty during my year long hiatus from the series. Cheers, bud.
  12. Hi Mue. I can't seem to be able to view any stock ground objects. Can you offer any advice?

  14. I've got my graphics settings on Unlimited. Really, it depends on what your system specs are. But if you want to view them in one go then I'd highly recommend a free and very simple tool called "Speccy" which in a few seconds will give you your complete computer specs straightaway: https://www.piriform.com/speccy If you want to use it and compare it with others then check it with, for example, my own. You'll be able to view my specs in my signature below here. I made sure this time round that that I was going to spend as much as possible and buy the very best that I could afford.
  15. Thanks for the tip, Fubar. It's made quite a difference to the likes of trees and surface tiles. After some conferring here and with the help of some members I've backtracked to the 353.62. Average framerates (even with high-res third party cockpits and aircraft) are in the region of 50-60 FPS.
  16. It seems pretty much OK at 4. What I'm more interested in is seeing if any of the other 3D settings on the Control Panel can be tweaked to increase framerates a little more and to get the most out of the card without overclocking it. I've already got the game settings to unlimited with a minimum 50FPS/max 120FPS and a 55 to 65-odd FPS average. It is after all a gaming rig. EDIT: I made sure my rig was fitted with a hi-spec card. Check the signature of my post for my specs.
  17. After these changes there's no more 'steps' on surrounding hills and mountains; no glaringly obvious jaggies on low-poly ground objects; and most importantly, no jaggies on stock or third party aircraft:
  18. Just to let you guys know that I've taken on both your suggestions and after a little trial-and-error I've now completely eliminated the jaggies. First I set the anti-aliasing to 4. I then applied the following anti-aliasing settings in the Nvidia control panel:
  19. Agreed on the 353.62. I was more than delighted for the bugs to disappear along with the tile glitches and other things. I've spent just over €2,000 on my new rig and it'd be a shame for me not to get the jaggies issue sorted, which seems to be the only issue remaining, despite my attempts at tweaking. Don't get me wrong; it's something that you could live with, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist and things like jaggies drive me f**king nuts!
  20. Great idea, Gunrunner! A thread like this would be more than useful to folks such as myself having graphics problems.
  21. I've been adjusting the in-game and Nvidia graphics settings in order to try and eliminate the jaggies but to no avail. ALL the other graphics problems that I've been having have disappeared since installing the Nvidia 353.62 drivers. Before heading to bed last night I downloaded the TMF F-4K and ran it. No problems that I noticed for a high-spec mod (apart from the jaggies). Then for the hell of it I decided to try out SF2 on Unlimited settings - not bad at all, the framerates were good but I haven't yet tried it out in an AI-heavy situation such as a campaign mission, where you'd have friendly flights, SAMs, AAA and enemy aircraft all operating simultaneously in your specific AO. Johnathan: I've thought of bringing this to Nvidia's attention but the reason I brought it up here was cause everybody on this forum is more than familiar with the "intricacies" of the SF2 series. As regards the "jaggies", here's an example of the ones I've been mentioning: I'll be visiting my Father later today so further attempts at solving this issue will have to wait til this evening after dinner.
  22. Alrighty then. I Installed the Nvidia 353.62 drivers and the problems seem to have disappeared. Having a problem with "jaggies" on objects and hills on the terrain though. Made sure that anti-aliasing was switched off on the Nvidia control panel and on the Options.ini file - no improvement unfortunately.
  23. Another question (I know, sorry!); I've done a little googling on 353 series and have seen on one discussion that certain 353 drivers have caused problems. Can you recommend which one would be most suited to my rig? (bearing in mind that I'm running on W10) Example: https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/3l5v49/which_driver_should_i_rollback_to_in_windows_10/
  24. GunRunner, I meant to ask you; do I have to uninstall the current driver before installing the 353 series? EDIT: I forgot to mention in the first post that my new desktop runs on Windows 10
  25. I'd be willing to try anything right now in order to solve this issue. Will give it a try. Cheers. Stutter (as in low framerates)? Wasn't having too much of an issue there but I'll change it to that anyway. Thanks.
