  3. So I have been playing with terrain repainting and I am having a problem with the coastal TGA tiles. When I place the modified tiles in game I am getting water effects across the entire tile instead of just the water portion. Is this an Alpha issue? what are the correct settings for saving Targa files in Photoshop?

  5. Looks like the alpha information from the original tile was lost on some of the conversions but not on others, the alpha channels are just plain white. How do I create an alpha in the psd file to match my transparency ?

Here is the tile ... and here is the issue in game, you can see the tile in question has fubars water effects active across the entire tile. the water FX have also turned the tile a dark color in game .The neighboring modified tile has only a slight encroachment onto the coastline.... and only a slight amount of discoloration to the tile.   8. These are "repaints" of Stary's Formosa Targa tiles. Basically what I'm doing is was making a composite... Between Formosa tiles and various earth sand and city tiles for placement in specific target areas areas. An example of what I am doing would be layering the sand tile over the Formosa tile adjusting the opacity to combine tile features - tracing out the Formosa coastline on the top sand tile and deleting it... to retain the greenish blue water on the tile below. I am using Fubars dynamic water shaders. Stary's stock tiles have no issue with the water shader effect Most of my modified tiles are showing water effects right up the beach and fully across the entire tile surface...Others strangely are not... and I am not sure why. I am also getting weird light effects from explosions and flack that magnify the visibility of seams between adjacent tiles. The standard third wire water entry for the coastal tiles is "1" in the terrain data ini , and i have retained that formula
  9. What cockpit are you using ? It would be great to have the look and feel of an F-4s office but with a new instrument panel with multiple MFD's and wide angle HUD.
  10. That is a new P-3 model right? It does not look like the ATeam P-3.... or is it just the new skin throwing me off.
  11. It was a major pain in the ass to get them working- you will have to add callouts in the weapon data to match the effect you want to use and make sure that it matches effect ini exactly. Then edit the effect ini to add the proper SF2 shaders. I used this thread to get started converting lexx's nukes. http://combatace.com/topic/41168-using-custom-effects-in-sf2/ .   12. Is it possible to use plugins like Rayfire to create complex destroyed objects and export them to .lod? Secondly can animations created with Rayfire be exported to .lod and used by the game?

  14. How does that F-8 search? Does your RF-8G use radar to Search for the soviet fleet? If it finds the enemy, does it trigger the American surface ships to launch cruise missiles? I am curious about this because I have Ticonderoga and Iowa class surface/ land attack ships that never ever fire a missile in SF2NA and it is really starting to bug me?

    This was just so bad I had to share it . Fast forward to the 20 minute mark- Some ass clown takes a model of an F-18 missing its nose cone and tail, and spliced on the wings of an F-4 phantom (inverted).... and try's to sell it as a video he shot at area 51 of a new top secret jet fighter.

  18. Ive been testing the Mig-31BM in scripted missions as an AI opponent. I had noticed that the 31 would not engage BVR, so I set up a mission that puts us closing, nose on at 130 miles out. The 31 does not lock me up... nor does it appear to see me until with in 5 miles or so,then it corrects course to intercept and takes a heater shot at me. I searched the forums and found lindr2's updates but still no joy. This jet should lock me up and fire it's AA-9'S at extreme range, Does anyone have working data for the Mig-31BM?

  24. I bet that's because there is no entry for those radars in your f-4N's RWR file.
