Yes, it looks like it was right on top of it, but it is said that it seems so because of the zoom. The aproaching aircraft saw the other one crossing the runway, they would have made it, but there should have been a safety margin and the pilot decided to pull up. Really somebody is or needs to be chewed.

from ground control they say that they were 2 miles away while the other aircraft was crossing the other runway...it seems like pushing safety for speed too far still

Some SF2 KAW questions
macelena replied to streakeagle's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I couldn´t get past True Blood or Falling Skies, however, the Last Ship looks better than i had expected. Indeed, it doesn´t take much long to get RAZBAM´s Banshee up to SF2 standards, and it was quite worth the money IIRC -
Campaign Pylons not working
macelena replied to dave1904's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Perhaps, the ordnance available for that squadron in the campaign, if specifically set, doesn´t include anything you can carry on that pylon. Also, keep in mind that while the game allows you to do so with some loopholes wich may not be covered, you are loading it where the centerline drop tank or ecm pod would be already in real life -
I don´t know( despite all the support and appreciation i got from folks in this site) if you know about how i joined last year and dropped out as my Gastrocnemius muscle broke down. I've been working my way back ever since, and today i got my exams done. Asked for Paratroopers and the Psychologist Captain told me i scored the test good enough to ensure that i would get whatever i asked for. My mother isn´t speaking to me anymore, it is like i just became a gladiator. Now, any advice on stuff like airborne training or specially, a way to chill my mom would be deeply appreciated.

Inspired by the service of the Gloster Meteor after WW2 and the evolution of other fighters in that era, I've been thinking about the possibility of Me262s being used post-war in a wide scale than it really was. The Schwalbe outperformed the Meteor, but never evolved as the Meteor did, and i´m wondering how well could they have performed if they had been improved beyond the limitations it found in war. Please share your ideas about the topic As a what-if, i felt that it could have been something along the lines of the Post-War Me-109s made by Avia and Hispano Aviacion. Been picturing a HA.2262 in the Spanish Air Force or a 101Sqn IDF Avia C92...sounds awesome to me. Among those, i thought, in example, of replacing the Jumo engines with Derwent V engines, wich made the Meteor F.8, with less advanced fuselage, outperform its German counterpart. In fact, the Russians had reverse-engineered it into the Klimov RD-500, wich doubled the Jumos performance and was much more reliable and durable. It was used by Yak-23s, but I don´t know if they could have been fitted properly to the Me 262 airframe, i´m interested in any input you can make. Another ideas were changes in the cockpit, adding an ejection seat and replacing the original canopy with a bubbletop like the one in the Meteor and Mustang. Regarding control surfaces, they were said to need badly some sort of airbrakes, but i don´t know where to put them. Perhaps at the sides of the waist fuselage, like in the A-4s. Also, an all-flying tail like in the late F-86s could have meant a significant improvement, while i don´t think supressing the leading edge slats would have been inherently a good idea, perhaps the new engines, being more powerful and reliable, could have compensated for the issues that dictated their use. Again, any ideas are welcome. Finally, the armament could have been improved. Switching the 30mm cannon with some 20mm could have provided a flatter trayectory and more ammunition, and perhaps, if vibrations were reduced this way, a ranging radar and associated sight would have been a game changer. In case I haven't told you yet, I will be happy to read what you think about it

23mm for the J-10 and 30mm for Flankers and so on, if you trust Wikipedia.

Serial historical campaigns
macelena posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I've been thinking of playing different campaigns of an specific squadron as it evolved through history, and updating with different aircraft in various campaigns, just out of curiosity. So far, i've completed the Six Day War campaign with IDFAF 119 Sqn, and i'm halfway with the Yom Kippur War, having flown Mirage and Phantoms. I'm enjoying it and i'm thinking on which unit to pick next. Probably, VF51 or VF111 wich went from Crusaders to Phantoms in Rolling Thunder and Linebacker 1, got amy other ideas? Do you feel like trying something like that? -

Talking about Achilles, the name of another 17 pdr "pimped up" Sherman variant (m10) by the British. Personally, my kind of favourite american armor was the M18 Hellcat, i wonder what kind of a beast it could have been with a 17pdr, while i don´t know if it would have been able to take it (turret design issues, stability, and other considerations, curious about that) Btw, i´ve been reading a bit since i´m not quite knowledgeable about armored warfare...i´ve read that one of the arguments found against giving the Sherman the 76mm gun is that, while it was better against tanks, its HE shells were not as powerful, and it was meant to be clearing infantry and defensive positions while the tanks were, in theory, to be delat with by tank destroyers. If the 75mm could have more explosives, and shaped charged ordnance is chemically, not kinetically based for its effects...was there any attempt at using a HEAT like shell for them? If Bazookas could have that tech, it could have been useful for tanks, specially in a 75mm proyectile over a 60mm rocket

In Spanish, the best thing is that the actor dubbing Clint Eastwood in most of his films was the Spanish equivalent of James Earl Jones, wich make it pretty awesome. He had not only the voice of dirty harry, but also that of Darth Vader, Terminator, Captain Kirk, Roger Moore´s James Bond, Rutger Hauer in Blader Runner...it was really like god cursing at you -

F-101C Voodoo vs MiG-15 Fagot-A

When you don´t have much flight time with this sim, yuo get to prefer the tighest turning aircraft. One of the things i love of this sim is that it covers a period in wich aircraft were handicapped in some way or another. Fast and sluggish, slow but agile, and so on. You fight against you aircraft limited envelope as much as you do with your adversary. As i got more used to it, i got to appreciate more some underrated aircraft wich were impossible to use succcesfully before you knew them. The first plane i got used to exploit was the Phantom, then Mirages, and lately, i´m playing campaigns with F-100s and enjoying it when i couldn´t even imagine they could be any good. You just have to be smooth, cool with them. You don´t experience something like that playing with post 4th Gen aircraft in other sims. -

Honestly, before the ISIL thing, i wondered if Turks wouldn´t be better if there was an independent Iraqi Kurdistan. It would probably claim Turkish soil, but they would be able to contain and overwhelm it more easily than Kurds looking for a nation in the lest hard hitting country they can meet, that being Turkey. It is like having the Indian in your tent pissing outside or having him outside pissing inside

They were exhausted, but some of them shouldn´t have made the cut. Others were fresh and as good, if not better. Bad call by the coach, and badly organized by the Spanish federation, they should have been more rested
