Wow, i thought Gary Brecher had gone missing
-
Yes, indeed, i was inspired by the post-war Me-109s being built by Avia and Hispano Aviacion with new engines for that idea. I doubt, however, that we could have been able to set a proper industry to have them operational.
-
I thought of those who used Me-109 derivatives after the war (Israel, Czechoslovakia, Spain) and some other poor airforces both sides of the courtain.

DEFA-ADEN would rock, without a doubt. In fact, while i would settle for 20mm guns, armament is not what the aircraft needs to change, other than those range issues. It is not like the Hawker Hunter had any trouble (well, beyond the ammo links caused damage) with that heavy weaponry

EF-2000 Typhoon
macelena replied to ace888's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
C.16-31 mean it was the 31st aircraft delivered of the 16th type (Typhoon). 14-01 would mean it belongs to the 14th wing and is numbered as 01, wich means nothing about the order it was delivered or that it it flown by the wing commanding officer. Fighters belong to the Wing proper, instead of a particular Squadron, however in that particular case, there is only an operational Squadron (142nd) in the wing, while pilots undergo training for the type as they may be needed to staff more aircraft, 141st being temporarily deactivated. However, the EdA is quite happy with them. They may be under scrutiny since a couple of days ago, one Typhoon crashed while landing for unknown or undisclosed reasons, killing the pilot, in fact, the controversy is that they remain too much operational (and, to my surprise, recieved much more A-G capabilities than i had expected.) while neglecting other needs in the Air Force. -
Let the nutters kill each other in a desert range, to prove whose side is Allah on. And broadcast in Pay-Per-View. Proceeds will be for the children.

Perhaps it was simpler, more compact, and more conventional when compared to propeller driven aircraft, after all, it was a single engine aircraft...but the engine layout was still used succesfully by the Meteor wich soldiered on for years. I´m not talking about developing more aircraft types based on Me262s, only improving the original, proven design as an stop gap while more advanced designs are developed Yes, while perhaps some changes to the fuselage would have been needed for the guns and fire control radar, but either way, most probably I.... as 76.IAP said. The new one would be more fit not only for bomber destroying, but also better for air superiority, considering all the improvements to the already relatively satisfactory original design.

What a shame. The referee looks either retarded or something, but we should have scored another goal before the first Dutch one. From then onwards, the referee and demoralization screwed us well. The Dutch physical condition is awesome, they were everywhere, rough play, but an outstanding game by them

My mom said the exact same thing about the B-1Bs. I think Dad and I shouldn´t have made her watch that Discovery Channel documentary. I'm just concerned that without proper intel or on the ground FACs it could derive in a higher risk of civilians being killed.

I would bet they can. After all the crap they´ve endured because of the World Cup, i´m sure as hell it is worth bribing the crap out of whomever may concern. No offence intended.

Isn´t that normal? I wouldn´t have noticed any issue. Perhaps a bit if the missile wings are inside, but other than that, that's the way they were meant to be, IIRC -

Comet, Meteor...the good ones were already caught. Blackbird and Dragonlady are flying animals, but they were the coolest already. Swallow should be for a Me-262 What If, i think Raven could be a good name. -

Range, let alone performance, would have suffered badly, but i guess it could have got some possibilities if used for bunker busting, assuming that targeting and conditions were up to the job- 8 replies
